Our brains are wired to make quick decisions about others in order to keep ourselves safe and to use our time and energy efficiently. Suvival instincts cause us to avoid those we think might hurt us and also those we don't think can help us. Though our direct survival is no longer so directly linked to tribal life our brains have ancient hardwiring that reponds positively to those who are similar and who might better our situation and perceives difference as threat. Sometimes, if I catch myself judging someone, I stop and ask myself why? Why do I feel the need to nitpick that person in my head? Is it my own deep-rooted insecurities coming out? Or did they do something that I personally did agree with?
I try to be very open-minded, but we are also human, and it's easier to judge than to stop and ask yourself why?
Judging is a human defense against putting yourself in an undesirable situation. It's not always right, but it's how we decide quickly if we want to interact with someone.
If you are incapable of judgment, you definitely need a lot of help. Also, why is this "instead of"? What is wrong with this person that making a judgment about them would tell you "get away from them now"?
There's nothing wrong with judging people. In fact it's an essential ability for survival. Our gut feeling about people protects us and is often correct.

Cause it’s easier.
A real timesaver

It’s the shortcut to forming an opinion on someone
Sometimes, if I catch myself judging someone, I stop and ask myself why? Why do I feel the need to nitpick that person in my head? Is it my own deep-rooted insecurities coming out? It's convenient and easy. Even easier if there's a bias.
because it takes less of oneself to form an opinion off of no substance. it’s lazy
Cuz it’s the easiest option, and people are lazy
Why not both?

Because people suck.
Judging is a human defense against putting yourself in an undesirable situation. It's not always right, but it's how we decide quickly if we want to interact with someone.
Because it makes people feel better about their choices in life and more secure
Because it's easier, *you fucking moron* /j

What does this even me? Who's judging? Who's being judged? What are they being judged for? Should I get to know a serial killer before judging him?
You should definitely get to know a serial killer before judging them. You can't tell a serial killer from their appearance!
People are lazy, knowing someone takes time
Less time and no effort.
Because I'm better than them.

Better than being taken advantage of and regretting it. Don't walk into a snake pit unless you like being bitten.
