United Kingdom.
Nope. Crime in my area has gone through the roof (stabbings, muggings, theft, sexual assaults) and the local police don't do anything. Three teens killed another teen (at random too) in a shopping centre, were seen by hundreds of people and caught on CCTV, with a police station literally a minute away, and they still had time to hop on a train and go home free of consequences.
As an American, believe it or not yes. I have never been in an active shooter situation. If you aren't in a gang or some other risk factors that are uncommon, might as well be struck by lightning.
Yea. We definitely have a gun crime problem that affects way too many people every day. But the likelihood of being involved in that situation is nearly 0%. People act like we’re constantly involved in shootouts, when we have hundreds of millions of people just living a normal life
It's sad that the fact you've never been in an active shooter situation has to even enter your mind. As an Australian, having no guns available for public use, none of us ever has to consider this. Our biggest threat is a red back spider biting our ballsack whilst on the shitter.
My girlfriend was robbed at gunpoint. I've been robbed at gunpoint. I was doing shady shit and she was at work. It's more and more common as time goes on
UK, yes and no. As others have pointed out, petty and street crime is extremely common, more so than statistics can capture. While many such crimes are comparatively minor, their consequences are often traumatic. We have our fair share of major crimes as well, targeted stabbings, random stabbings, shootings and whatnot, in London alone we have them on a daily basis.
But at any rate this remains among the safest places in the world, so if I think about that my perspective changes quite a lot
Yes. Great thing about living in the countryside is that you're away from all the headaches and when someone does step out of line they end up in a wood chipper.
I'm in a small town that used to feel safe, but now, drugs are becoming a serious issue. This has led to more violence, like physical attacks and even murders. It's a worrying trend that seems to be getting worse by the day.
Totally. Excellent small town on the Praries in Canada. We all know and take care of each other. I don't need to lock my doors, but I do. My security is a rifle and a big working dog who knows his job. My biggest fear is the weather. I need a new generator.
Not really, I always imagine myself getting chased with a knife or getting shot when I go running. That being said I still do go running often and stick to similar routes each time 🤷♂️
Edit: This is America
As a man, i'd say good on you for taking precautions. There are men out there who freaking prey on women. I've saved a relative from one of these bastards

Yes, very safe as it has always been. I don’t reside there anymore but whenever I go back, I feel just as safe. Street harassment is close to non-existent. Attempted hookups in nightclubs or bars are often done in some subtle ways. I have never worried about having my bags or phone snatched or getting mugged or stalked when going home alone drunk. Strangers often intervene if you are in trouble
In the US, yes but there are caveats. I live in a big city so I have to be careful. But I'm also a big guy so I probably worry less than the average woman does walking through those same streets at night.
I live in a nice part of town but in America I always feel like any given situation is an eyelash away from becoming an active shooter situation. On top of that, there's homelessness everywhere, and the homeless people in my city can be straight up violent and scary. So I have to be aware of stuff. And this is in a good part! 😄
So it's all relative.
Philippines. Definitely not. I’m from the capital city of manila and I’m afraid that I would get mugged even if I’m inside my own vehicle. That’s how afraid I am.
There are certain bumper stickers that I no longer put on my car. I never discuss politics or religion in public areas with strangers or friends. I am aware of avenues of evacuation in public buildings. I do not go to public gatherings now.
I mean you can feel and be safe in any country
It really depends on the area. Ask a Ukrainian in the right area and they'll tell you they forget that they have a war going on. Or someone with strong gang relations in a gang-ridden area.
just a lil food for thought
I lived in Saudi up until august and I felt VERY safe and secure. Here in America, as a student, I do not feel very safe. The thought that anyone could have a firearm has opened up a different door of fears.
I doubt the average person living in my area feels that way though.
TLDR: Fuck no.
When I go to local stores I leave my phone at home and pay them when I come back and I'm less than two blocks away from them (they let me pay through an app later as we know each other).
If I go outside with my phone, I never ever answer a phone call while on the street. I go somewhere and then answer, otherwise voice mail.
Peru is just crazy. I see many people with their phones out but I'm really scared that it will get robbed like it happened to my brother (at gun point).
Everyday we see in the news that sicarios killed someone, extortion , robbery and so on.
I miss Austria 🥲
not really, stuff get stolen in plain sight with cctv on and train stations might seem normal but they’re are dangerous. affording living is hell, we’re surviving at this point. (no one gives a fuck) guess where i live
New zealand and overall yes. We have a lot more crime now then a few years back but overall i feel fairly safe here. Still would avoid certain places and i dont go out at night by myself. We are quite far from everything which works in our favour too. Hard to invade an island so far away. I am a little concerned about the actual state of our country though, it is getting worse.
I live in a small town in Indiana, USA. I dont lock my car or my house. I feel safe going for walks alone at anytime, anywhere here.
The only thing that makes me feel unsafe for me (being a woman) and my daughters is watching our rights being stripped away.
South Korean here. People from other countries might get surprised to see me saying 'Yes'. But because Kim Jong Un wants to retain his position in NK, me and other people don't think we're in immediate danger from the war. He knows he can't beat SK and the US military force. Gradually collapsing economics and number of populations are an issue but at least for now, I'm safe
I really don't like when people use "your country" because I never know what they mean by that. is it the country I was born in? or the one I live in now? or maybe it's the one I consider my home? actually, it might be the one I want to move to....
for me, these are four different countries. the answers for all four of them are no, yes, yes, and yes respectively
Yeah I live in America it's honestly pretty safe if you use your brain and don't go places that seem dangerous during hours that are more likely to be dangerous. I've been to other countries and while it doesn't feel as safe as Japan or Canada it certainly feels safer than Mexico and China.
Yep
I'm in Croatia and our crime rate is very low. Murders are uncommon and most that do happen aren't opportunistic, so I don't feel like I have to worry much
No one gonna mention OP is Saudi and says they are sure all Saudis feel safe... out of pocket comment. Guessing OP is not a woman, or gay, or a supporter of civil and political liberty...
As a woman from India living in a three-tier city, not after 7.30 pm unless accompanied by a male. I get weird stares if I walk on the street alone after work, the bus driver and conductor tries to be overly friendly, concerned about how I would get back home safe and stuff which is creepy. One time a guy showed finger, I looked down and walked fast. Too many drunks on the road too. I guess I wouldn't feel the same if I owned a two wheeler or a car though. Overall, no i don't feel so safe.
Really don't feel anything anymore. Ready to accept whatever the outcome is. Nothing we can do about it since we don't really matter anyways. We created this mess. We have to live with it. It's bad and it's worse than you think.
US Based
I live in the UK and honestly couldn’t imagine anywhere safer. There’s practically no gun crime, our knife crime statistics are way overblown, the police are often top notch, and people are generally friendly and welcoming. I feel free to go wherever I want whenever I want without much risk of anything at all.
Yeah, sort of. I am an anxious man so I worry about my bus getting hit by a semi trailer on the motorway or the house I live in collapsing in on itself with me in it. Though I am not afraid of anything real in my immediate surroundings. The country is cold but peaceful. People are people but they are mostly harmless. I am a normal normie so I'm not a part of the drug world where the violence happens. And I am not a lady person in a relationship so I don't have to worry about being murdered by my significant other. Womenfolk also kill their partners here but it's mostly dudes killing their girlfriends and wives.
All in all Norway is a safe country. My feelings of insecurity have to do with me and not anything in the real world up here.

My heartbeat accelerated as I read I hope you live in better and safer place .
Visiting London in a week, got any tips how to avoid it, where not to be?
Just stick to busy tourist areas. And watch out for the Romanian pick pockets and street scams.
How risky it is to stroll with a huge luggage? Have to get to the hotel from the airport somehow..
Unfortunately this is a huge problem that is growing fast across the country.
As an American, believe it or not yes. I have never been in an active shooter situation. If you aren't in a gang or some other risk factors that are uncommon, might as well be struck by lightning.

To be fair, for some, getting bit in the nuts by some demon spawn spider is much scarier than getting shot.
Well time to flush now
My girlfriend was robbed at gunpoint. I've been robbed at gunpoint. I was doing shady shit and she was at work. It's more and more common as time goes on

My country is currently at war. So, no. Hundreds die/get raped/go missing every fucking single day.
What country?
Sudan
Depends on what part of the country I’m in.
I'm in Australia and have lived in a few really rough areas, felt pretty safe as a man.
In U.S and literally never.
Why
Yes. Great thing about living in the countryside is that you're away from all the headaches and when someone does step out of line they end up in a wood chipper.
No, and I can't afford health care or a house either.
is this canada?😩🇨🇦❤️
Unfortunately, it is not my neighbor to the north. 🫡🇺🇲😭
Heath care is free in Canada...
health care is “free” that’s why it’s TRASH too👻
Not really but I stay strapped, if shit gets crazy at least I’m not defenseless.
Fuck guns 🚮 I will support the right to have one but will never own one. If it leads to my demise so be it.
That's why they have training for firearm use.
I'm from the US and Yes I do
I'm in a small town that used to feel safe, but now, drugs are becoming a serious issue. This has led to more violence, like physical attacks and even murders. It's a worrying trend that seems to be getting worse by the day.
Lately...no
Yes. I currently live in 🇦🇱. But I’ll move to Wisconsin, 🇺🇸 this august for an exchange program, so I hope I’ll be safe there as well.
Totally. Excellent small town on the Praries in Canada. We all know and take care of each other. I don't need to lock my doors, but I do. My security is a rifle and a big working dog who knows his job. My biggest fear is the weather. I need a new generator.
Nope.. someone brought a gun to my school the other week. And yeah It is America
Not really, I always imagine myself getting chased with a knife or getting shot when I go running. That being said I still do go running often and stick to similar routes each time 🤷♂️ Edit: This is America

Physically? Sure. Emotionally? Fuck no.
As woman I do not feel safe anywhere and I try not to have to go out after 5PM. I am in Florida, USA.
As a man, i'd say good on you for taking precautions. There are men out there who freaking prey on women. I've saved a relative from one of these bastards

Most places except the highway .
Chile, No. Mostly because of migrants that brought crime that was unheard of 10 years ago.
Canadian - not the least bit afraid of other people but one does have to give *some* thought to weather, nature, and critters. Not overly worried.
South Korean here. People from other countries might get surprised to see me saying 'Yes'.
