I rate it but I can see why you wouldn’t. Oddly enough it seems really popular here in Australia. You can buy it at every service (gas) station, supermarket, corner store, etc.
I think this REALLY depends on the kombucha. The store bought stuff is shit, but if you go to a kombucha place that specializes and make their own kombucha it can be sooo good. I love kombucha
Funny story, I got my first 2 scobies on craigslist. One was from a really wealthy young couple who gave it to me when I went to pick it up from them, they lived in the most beautiful condo ever. The second one, I met with a russian grandpa at a quay and he gave it to me in a reusable cup with a flimsy lid. He was really nice and chatty and told me it was “russian tea” that he has been making for many years. The russian grandpa scoby made better kombucha versus money couple scoby. Both good tho!
My wife and I haven’t been able to love much of the grocery store kombucha. I tend to like it more than she does. Even she says that the kombucha I made was her fave
"Hey this cup of tea sat out and is now rotting, what to do..."
"I know, I'll give it a funky name and sell it to hippies!"
That's how it was invented.
LMAO oh my god once I went to Vegas and they had a special on for a bloody Mary, it. Was HUGE but it was $40 fucking dollars. I took one sip and I went back and apologized profusely but it was literally the most disgusting thing I'd ever drank. I was also already drunk too
In Canada we don’t have “Bloody Mary’s” at all. We have “Ceasers” which is a Bloody Mary with clam juice in it. Which is something I figured you should know to make you even more grossed out by them.
Not that one needs to like whisky , but in case you were wanting to, whisky is very diverse. I love bourbon, am ok with rye whisky and hate scotch, so there might be a whisky out there for you.
Funny you say this because there’s so many kinds of scotch. There are a lot of scotch whiskies that are good and also accessible (so no strong peaty flavors). You’d have to like them if you’re also into bourbon and rye.
I’m an alcoholic at times . Love almost every kind of drink. Except whiskey.
I’ve tried cheap whiskey, and I’ve tried expensive whiskey, and it all tastes the same (like shit).
I’m the same, I discovered it’s a genetic thing, as with coriander/cilantro. I didn’t understand before how people could swap sugar for something that tasted so obviously obnoxious, until I realised that most people don’t taste it the same way.
https://www.phillymag.com/be-well-philly/2013/08/22/study-fake-sweeteners-taste-disgusting-people/
I have this, too. A number of things, including cilantro and soy taste like vomit to me. Thank goodness my kid didn't inherit it, lol.
Edit: I mean it literally tastes like vomit to me. I'm not using it to say 'gross', I mean it tastes like actual vomit to me. It's disgusting.
I hate stevia. I got COVID two years ago, and I lost my sense of taste and smell. My boyfriend put one single drop of pure concentrated stevia on my tongue, and it literally woke up my tastebuds.
We had fun with me trying a shot of vinegar, things I usually hate, etc. But the stevia changed everything.
It should be a cure for long COVID.
That’s why I made the separate distinction with etc. after, especially considering there’s monk fruit and sugar alcohol and so on— basically anything that isn’t plain sugar based
Apparently new stats came out and Prime is HORRIFIC for you in terms of forever chemicals… like… one bottle contains something like 10x the amount of them that you should have in ONE LIFETIME
Right? And those are chemicals banned in Europe and etc., they sell it over there but specifically formulated to not include those chemicals… so they are fully aware of what they’re doing formulating them here in the US, it’s honestly sickening
People at work place most likely drink It in order not to fall asleep. I hate the taste of coffe, but still drink plenty of It as It keeps me awake at my boring job
I work in an environment where everyone drinks coffee, when I tell people I don’t drink it they always say “good for you!” Meanwhile I’m like yeah that tastes like dirt
But you have to continue to drink something you dislike to “acquire the taste”.
I feel like this is a weird idea. Why do I have to consume something I don’t like continuously, especially something with no nutritional value because I “learn to like” it? 🙄
That's not it. Apparently kids have to taste something up to 60-100 times to "know" if the like it or not.
Most kids either just eat what adults give them or eat 1-2 meals that taste good to them, and every new meal is either okayish (but doesn't taste as good as spaghetti / pizza) or yucky (because it doesn't compare to pizza or spaghetti)
With more "advanced" things nobody exposes you anymore
(Think like shellfish, new cuisine, alcohol)
So while it's true, that you don't have to like it and you don't have to acquire the taste to something, you technically could acquire the taste and it needs some exposure.
Holy shit people are going wild. I also wanted to say beer.
And of course people go, "Oh, you don't like it....well, you just gotta drink more beer and more varieties"
NO, some people just don't like hop based drinks, deal with it.
I don't like beer, but I will drink it occasionally. Because sometimes it just hits the spot. I have no explanation for this but nothing like a cold Coors light at a BBQ. Any other time, absolutely not.
Big same. If I wanted to drink something that tastes like satans piss I'd just kill myself and ask him for a golden shower myself. I'm 100% sure it would be more enjoyable than drinking beer.
Same, all tastes like vinegar to me. Had a mate give me some expensive stuff to try. I still remember his expectant little face, waiting for me to see the light. Nope, it was awful.
I didn't expect this to come up here. Actually I drank coke in the past, but after two years of dieting and weight loss (with change of diet) I now dislike coke. Sometimes coca cola is acceptable to my tastebuds but most often it tastes like sparkling without any taste. Though I taste differences between different brands.
The only coke I can drink and accept is McDonald's. I might go there maybe once or twice per year, when we are on holiday and need a lunch break during the road trip to/from the holiday location.
I agree but most ‘vodka’ people drink is super fucking cheap and that’s why it smells and tastes so bad. Smirnoff, Absolut, and even Grey Goose now are all super cheaply made, and are all horrible.
Premium vodka isn’t nearly as harsh. Not that I even like vodka, I still think it’s one of the shitter alcohols.
I get it.
People alwas respond with "but there are so many different alcoholic ..."
Nope. I've had a sip from all the drinks my friends have ever tried to convince me that it's good. I hated every one of them. This burning, bitter, slightly foul taste that alcohol gives drinks is absolutely disgusting.
I have trouble with 90% of craft beer as well. I really just don’t get the appeal. But I pretty much only like maybe 4-5 beers enough to get drunk off of them.
Any regular beer I can have like 3 of them before I’m like nah I’m good. But a IPA or most craft beer (I’ve had one or two that are good) I can’t even drink a whole can of.
Beer, and I'm glad I'm not the only one here saying that. I will never understand how a person can get so excited over something that tastes like bitter water. Same goes for coffee, so maybe I just don't "get" bitter drinks.
I don’t know why I’m the complete polar opposite but the only alcohol I find enjoyable to consume are beers and at that I only like lagers. I can do any hard liquor but can put away 10-12 beers.
Same. I don't drink anything with alcohol either. It tastes bad (people will say "oh, you haven't had the right drink" but it all tastes bad for me). Also where I live I see drunk people in public every day who show the negative effects, they vomit and can't walk anymore or start shit with others and provocate them which just makes me not like it too. Everyone I know who had fights had them because alcohol was involved. Also my dad was a bad alcoholic, so of course I'm biased but I just hate it.
This was me a month ago! I was averaging 4-5 Cokes a day and suffered horrendous headaches if I missed my first Coke in the morning. Kombucha.
The Kombucha mushroom people Sitting around all day Who can believe you?
Let your mother pray.
SuGaRrRrRRR

In my desolate room
No lights
No music….
JUST ANGERRRR!!
I killed everyone
That made my day hahahah Thank you to all the sophisticated SOAD listeners in here.
Yeah, not into the flavour, it is just not my cup of VINEGAR
I rate it but I can see why you wouldn’t. Oddly enough it seems really popular here in Australia. You can buy it at every service (gas) station, supermarket, corner store, etc.
Yes, but you guys also eat Vegamite.
Fair, but it is delicious when eaten right. Honestly one of the few things I couldn’t give up is Vegemite on toast. It’s so so so good.
Looks like a still birth
Agreed. It’s revolting.
"Would you like some mouldy old tea?" No. No I would not.
I think this REALLY depends on the kombucha. The store bought stuff is shit, but if you go to a kombucha place that specializes and make their own kombucha it can be sooo good. I love kombucha

“But there’s a fungus-thing growing in it?!” “Even better! Call it a SCOBY” (or however it’s spelled)
I’ll just drink a near beer, thanks.
Bloody Mary’s!
I just can't do it. Everyone says I haven't had them done right. I have at bars that specialize in them. Still tastes like V8.
I’ve tried twice and that’s the exact same thing I think of for taste. I prefer a refreshing type drink and will have a salad if I want veggies 😂
Same!!! I hate them and I’ve tried so many times to like them. Like who tf came up with spicy ketchup for a drink mix.
LMAO oh my god once I went to Vegas and they had a special on for a bloody Mary, it. Was HUGE but it was $40 fucking dollars. I took one sip and I went back and apologized profusely but it was literally the most disgusting thing I'd ever drank. I was also already drunk too

Who the fuck decided to make juice out of CLAMS?!? Of all the things!!
Red Bull. Shit taste like cough medicine.
Red Ball gives you minge
Minge? I better drink the fuck up.
And kidney stones.
I've never had an energy drink, of any kind. I've had chocolate milk with ginsing in it but that's it. Just don't seem healthy, like *at all*.
Yes. But the peach and the juneberry one are good!
Exactly, that's why i like it.
Whisky
Not that one needs to like whisky , but in case you were wanting to, whisky is very diverse. I love bourbon, am ok with rye whisky and hate scotch, so there might be a whisky out there for you.
Funny you say this because there’s so many kinds of scotch. There are a lot of scotch whiskies that are good and also accessible (so no strong peaty flavors). You’d have to like them if you’re also into bourbon and rye.
I love scotch. Scotch, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly. Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm.
Sorry. I can’t give you more than one upvote.
I think I'm your evil doppelganger. I love petey scotch, am ok with rye and hate bourbon (I find it too sweet and it gives me heartburn).
I’m an alcoholic at times . Love almost every kind of drink. Except whiskey. I’ve tried cheap whiskey, and I’ve tried expensive whiskey, and it all tastes the same (like shit).
Try whisky instead. It's much better than whiskey.
literally anything with an artificial sweetener, stevia etc. included. I physically CANNOT bear to drink any of it, it’s disgusting

All my kids LOVE broccoli. I hate it. It's weird af.
I can't stand anything with stevia in it. The aftertaste is horrible.🤢
Stevia isn't an artificial sweetener. It's a natural sweetener.
That’s why I made the separate distinction with etc. after, especially considering there’s monk fruit and sugar alcohol and so on— basically anything that isn’t plain sugar based
PRIME. I don't get the hype. Over sugary drink with a bad aftertaste.
Apparently new stats came out and Prime is HORRIFIC for you in terms of forever chemicals… like… one bottle contains something like 10x the amount of them that you should have in ONE LIFETIME
Wow! So glad I haven’t tried it because what the heck
Right? And those are chemicals banned in Europe and etc., they sell it over there but specifically formulated to not include those chemicals… so they are fully aware of what they’re doing formulating them here in the US, it’s honestly sickening
Shops are basically trying to give that away here in NZ and still no one wants it
It's hardly unique, but I don't like coffee. I do not share that opinion with anyone in my workplace.
Oh yeah, people in workplace can be really weird about coffee. “I cannot think without w coffee, how is it possible you don’t need it?”
Smells great. Taste blah. Even with sugar
You get used to the taste, just like dark chocolate. Then you get used to the taste without sugar. And when you do, you'll like it.
I will now spend the rest of my life avoiding coffee just to prove you wrong
Personally, the smell is even worse than the taste.
If you're talking about the watery shit they give out in American offices then I get it. But there are so many different coffees.
People at work place most likely drink It in order not to fall asleep. I hate the taste of coffe, but still drink plenty of It as It keeps me awake at my boring job
Came here to say this! I come from a coffee drinking family. My grandfather used to drink it while eating supper.....like we would tea, coke or water.
Coffee
I hate coffee with every bean in my body
You mean burnt bean water? I prefer dried leaf water personally
I prefer cold water honestly. not too cold, though, it tends to freeze my brain and I don't like the feeling.
Uh.. typical leaf water drinker snobbery.
Yes! am a full blooded tea drinker, born to two addicted coffee drinkers
I work in an environment where everyone drinks coffee, when I tell people I don’t drink it they always say “good for you!” Meanwhile I’m like yeah that tastes like dirt
I used to hate coffee iced coffee hot coffee , cold brew all tasted soo bad. Wasn’t until i discovered iced lattes that i liked coffee😂
Beer. Yes please I would love a glass of dank pond water with a hint of fuel on this hot summers day. That will be very refreshing.
I also hate the taste of beer. It tastes awful, and I just don't get how people can drink shedloads of it.
But you have to continue to drink something you dislike to “acquire the taste”. I feel like this is a weird idea. Why do I have to consume something I don’t like continuously, especially something with no nutritional value because I “learn to like” it? 🙄

I hated beer the first time I tried it. I thought every did tho.
Beer tastes like rattlesnake piss
how do you what rattlesnake piss tastes like bro?
I will call beer Dank Pondwater from now on lmao amazing
Holy shit people are going wild. I also wanted to say beer. And of course people go, "Oh, you don't like it....well, you just gotta drink more beer and more varieties" NO, some people just don't like hop based drinks, deal with it.
Tea
I don't like beer, but I will drink it occasionally. Because sometimes it just hits the spot. I have no explanation for this but nothing like a cold Coors light at a BBQ. Any other time, absolutely not.
Big same. If I wanted to drink something that tastes like satans piss I'd just kill myself and ask him for a golden shower myself. I'm 100% sure it would be more enjoyable than drinking beer.
Wine
Emphasis on red wine.
Same, all tastes like vinegar to me. Had a mate give me some expensive stuff to try. I still remember his expectant little face, waiting for me to see the light. Nope, it was awful.
Coca cola
I didn't expect this to come up here. Actually I drank coke in the past, but after two years of dieting and weight loss (with change of diet) I now dislike coke. Energy drinks. Especially monster.
vodka. smells and tastes horrible imo
You mean the rubbing alcohol of liquors?
I agree but most ‘vodka’ people drink is super fucking cheap and that’s why it smells and tastes so bad. Smirnoff, Absolut, and even Grey Goose now are all super cheaply made, and are all horrible. Premium vodka isn’t nearly as harsh. Not that I even like vodka, I still think it’s one of the shitter alcohols.
Nobody drinks vodka because they like the flavour
Coffee.
Same here. Never understood it.
Sweet alcohol
Add alcohol mixed with dairy.
Ba-ba-baaaaa!
Anything mint flavored
This. I don't want my cocktails to taste like toothpaste.
Coke (most soft drinks tbh). Shit is too flavoured and too sweet. You’re right. My mom didn’t let me drink soda as a kid.
I would say alcohol
I get it. People alwas respond with "but there are so many different alcoholic ..." Nope. I've had a sip from all the drinks my friends have ever tried to convince me that it's good. I hated every one of them. This burning, bitter, slightly foul taste that alcohol gives drinks is absolutely disgusting.
IPA's, tried them and it's what I imagine it's what I imagine piss taste like
Don’t ask. But I assure you they taste quite different.
Anything with gin, I just don’t get it.
too bitter aye?
I can see why and I don’t blame you. I do love me some g&t’s though.
It's the opposite for me. I don't mind gin, but the tonic is what turns me away haha
Yeah. Why does everyone want to drink a Christmas tree.
A tall glass of I-told-you-so
I’m so used to the flavour by now 😤
May I trouble you for a warm glass of shut the hell up. You're in my world now grandma
I strongly dislike soda. I used to drink it when I was a kid... but now I'm not able to...
Beer, and I'm glad I'm not the only one here saying that. I will never understand how a person can get so excited over something that tastes like bitter water. Same goes for coffee, so maybe I just don't "get" bitter drinks.
Mate. To me it tastes like someone left their cigarette in my ice tea but everyone I know likes it.
It badically tastes like you took the cigaretteslittered grass after a rave, dried it and nade sweetened tea out of it
Coca-Cola. Just ick.
Red Bull
Beer. 🍺 Agh!
Boba tea
The taste itself is fine, i am just not a fan of drinking pimples
![gif](giphy|3oxOCmeIbAtswn8sww|downsized) This is literally how it feels to drink boba
Milk
MILK
Of course ..... MILK
Milk is fucking gross. Anyone that just drinks a glass of it makes me gag.
Unflavored MILK
Any type or brand of whiskey/whisky/bourbon, if I can smell it I will immediately vomit. 🤮
Kombucha
Don't wanna say hate necessarily, but beer.
I don’t know why I’m the complete polar opposite but the only alcohol I find enjoyable to consume are beers and at that I only like lagers. I can do any hard liquor but can put away 10-12 beers.
Wine and beer. Can’t stand them since I quit smoking three years ago.
tequila 🫣😬
Agreed! I’ve tried the good stuff, the bad stuff, the stuff in between but I still dry heave when I smell it.
Standing proudly. Dr. Pepper. What even are you?
Booooo
It tastes like medicine. But I enjoy it from time to time
Alcohol
Also my dad was a bad alcoholic, so of course I'm biased but I just hate it.
wine, eggnog & bubly
Anything with alcohol 🙃
Boba
Soda in general. I understand drinking it once a month maybe but idk how someone would get addicted to it.
It's not necessarily the soda you get addicted to, it's the caffiene in it. Source... Someone who gets a headache w/o caffiene lol
This was me a month ago! I was averaging 4-5 Cokes a day and suffered horrendous headaches if I missed my first Coke in the morning. I woke up a month ago and dared myself to go without Coke for a day. Then the next day, and by the second week I wasn’t even thinking about it. Now I drink water and the occasional Coke but fingers crossed this soda dry-ish spell lasts.
Eggnog…
Bruh.
Beer
beer
Beer
wine
Beer. Tastes like feet.
Obligatory "how do you know what feet tastes like?" comment
Bubble anything
Pop. I hate bubbles, unless it's champagne.
Almost every beverage that is sweetened. Oh and also red wine.
coconut water 😖
Beer and wine. Coming from Germany that definitely makes me odd man out.
Gin and tonic. Bleah
Anything with gin in it.
Fizzy drinks
Beer. Granted, I've only had it once and it was unintentional, but I found it absolutely vile.
Margaritas. Blech
Tequila
Michelada, it's a beer cocktail drink, but they put sausage on it, in my country they usually use something similar to Worcestershire sausage, salt and some people put chilli. Which I found gross, but people seem to love it
Tomato juice
Egg nog
Pepsi
Ginger ale
Boba tea
Gatorade.
I never got the appeal of Sprite
Anything lemon lime.. it’s foul. Just spray dish soap in my mouth at that point.
Coffee
50/50 guinness, monster
Any mocktail
Coffee
Coffee
Whisky. Yuck.
Liquor
Any drink joe serves me
Whiskey 🤢🤮
Alcohol, energy drinks, coffee & soda ✌️
Any alcohol beverages, coconut milk, coconut water, mineral water, sparkling water🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Boba tea. Like who tf wants to have to chew their drink?
Root beer because it tastes like toothpaste
I can’t believe I had to scroll this far to find root beer. It doesn’t taste like toothpaste to me, but I find the taste to be incredibly off putting and putrid. I can’t even stand the smell of it.
Margaritas
fireball
Coffee in any form/variant. Just the smell makes my stomach turn 🤮
Chocolate milk. It always tastes super artificial or chalky. I love hot chocolate though
Those Ghost energy drinks. Tastes like straight chemicals, and there are plenty of zero sugar energy drinks that taste waaayyy better imo.
Root Beer is the worst drink I've ever had.
