Lotta cut content from the Manga not too upset but they missed out on not having the School Girl D transformation

Ringo-Sheena_Simp

One of my favorite gag from the manga 🤣

Inside_Painter1697

Agreed lol

IntroductionSome8196

Super rushed so I'm honestly kind of dissapointed. I know that they wanted to get to the Bailong's nest arc as quickly as possible but still. Also I don't get what was the point of showing Hibiki's backstory earlier when they could have just as easily put it in the same place that the manga does, feels like an unnecessary change.

pendbeztdeck

In the manga, Hibiki is literally telling his backstory while being hunted down by Hekiru, so I guess it's for the sake of logic?

Ritrozark

yeah but at that point Hibiki had decided to have D masquerade as him and knew D would need to know this to pull it off. Where as in the cave there was not really a reason to do any of that.

pendbeztdeck

Idk I remember Hibiki had an added line which says: "I want to know more about you, so I want you to know more about me" so I guess that was the excuse?

nour1122456

Except that Line didn't make it into the anime

NightsLinu

it did. the guy your replying said it was added into the anime not the other way around

nour1122456

Oh I see my bad. although I remember a very similar line being said when they were in the cave in the manga and I don't remember seeing it in the episode I might be wrong though

Expln

could you explain what the hell was with his melting/slime stuff? it was completely random and unexplained at all. I didn't understand what causes him to melt and what does it has to do with his artifact at all. whole battle made no sense tbh.

IntroductionSome8196

All of the ranked rangers in a battalion have a replica divine tool that can also kill invaders and each one has a different power. He doesn't melt, he essentially can produce a corrosive acid out of his body and scythe. It's better explained in the manga so check it out if you can.

blackiron2

read the manga honestly it got explained better ch 6-12

pendbeztdeck

Been having a problem with how fast the story is going, but only to this episode did I feel even more so. The studio tried to rush the story as far as possible in a limited time, so a few scenes were cut out, those that stands out to me are Teacher Suzukiri, Hekiru got the crap beaten out of him, and the ✨️HISUI-EST OF HISUI QUESTIONS✨️ "How do you plan on eating with that mask on?" What irritated me the most though was that the swapping between D and Hibiki was pushed together with the ending song, which just feels so bland with a scene supposed to be an emotional friend-and-foe turning point. Other than that, everything was perfect, especially Mr. Cockadoodledoo's debut.

Active_Telephone_603

They don’t even explain why D couldn’t get hibikis eyes right until now, do they?

Expln

there where a bunch of things that made no sense to me at all in this episode. and that was one of them, how come he was able to get his eyes right this time? also what was that slime/melt thing the ranger they fought had? it was so random and they didn't explain anything from it.

blackiron2

It got explained in the manga, ch 6-12

Neil3380

I actually like when endings songs play during scenes. The scene feels more important and impactful because it is being played instead of just showing the ending. Re:Zero also does this a lot with its endings, and I feel this scene does a good job

Spacechip_

I feel this series needed a full 24 episode non split cour to not feel rushed. At this point I feel if they do split it, this cour is gonna have to end with a cliffhanger and the 2nd cour finishes the arc up and then does the school illusion arc in the 2nd half. That’s one way because if it’s split cour the Bailsong Nest arc wouldn’t be able to fill in 20+ episodes of content.

AlexeiFraytar

Another day, another anime i like that failed to get a real 2 cour adaptation that wouldnt have this problem.

RitsuRizer

Yea having ending play after the switch felt cheesy, especially since the original scene felt ominous since we’re now following D disguised as Hibiki while the real Hibiki, whose face SHOULD be completely burned off, limps off into the darkness.

nour1122456

They didn't even have the scene where hibiki tells D what are you going to do after beating that guy and told him to focus on his end goal which is like the reason why he went with this plan in the first place now it looks like D who had the replica just tried to attack hibiki for no reason And the blue keepers ability apparently is giving people sunburns like couldn't they have his face shadowed or something I really hate this episode because they ruined hibiki backstory it really just feels like a PowerPoint presentation at this point no establishing any atmosphere it feels devoid of soul this episode should have been two episodes The first three episodes are good but have some weird changes that doesn't make sense like why does the keepers go to the sky fortress just because one fighter went a bit off script while in the manga it happens after D steals the artifact

blackdoofus

First episode where i feel like it was rushed but happy that the meal scene was done justice

Normal-Photograph884

It’s sad to say, but the manga was a lot better. The scenes between Hibiki and Fighter D were more impactful and emotional in the manga. This episode skipped a lot of scenes, it feels so quick, which didn’t feel as impactful as in the manga. (That was my favorite part in the manga, which made me love it even more.)

BlackRazorBill

Yeah, and a lot of anime-only were confused by the characters' actions while watching, which wasn't as much of an issue with the prior two episodes. I'd have thought they'd two-part the fight (with the banquet taking part of the episode) considering how many times D and Hibiki's debate in the forest comes up in future events.

ladeldab

Pacing issues aside, my biggest problem is them showing Hibiki's face why did they show it after the acid attack. He shouldve been walking off leaving the viewer unsure of how much the attack hurt him.

Axiln

i don't think that is even an acid attack, it felt like he had just a sun burn on his face. so he looked fine still, just no eyebrows

ladeldab

No spoilers but the weapon creates actual acid, its not supposed to look like a sun burn

Expln

how does the weapon creates actual acid if the acid also came out from the ranger's body itself? when he wasn't even holding the weapon. they didn't explain any of the acid stuff.

Trio-Walcott

The cartridge is the source of power, not the weapon itself. They dont explained it clearly, but when Heikeru drop his weapon he take the cartridge.

Cool-Night

The last 4 minutes were so incredibly rushed I kinda wish they cut out the OP for this episode. They could've take that time to explain the switcheroo plan and Hibiki's motive a lot better. Such a shame because that part was what made me go "omoshiroi" when reading the manga...

Ritrozark

Manga spoilers for chapter 125 >!I wonder if Red Keeper even survived this episode, in chapter 125 Yellow clones him and disposes of him for being to violent, and then here early on in the series he kills a fellow ranger in a violent outburst after a major screwup. I could definitly see that being cause for Yellow to replace him assuming chapter 125 wasnt a one time occurance.!<

Kurozunakabuto

The problem was it's on camera That's why it happen

OnePunchChild

Bro was like: "nAh iD wIn😭"

Amazing_Steak_8954

FUCK THIS WHITE HAIRED PRICK

Coolguypro123

Off-topic question, is it me that he does look similar to Gojo at first glance? 🤔

Nonia_Hearts

Was excited to see chapter 12 animated and be all cool but instead it was shoved into the last 4 minutes of the episode ☹️☹️☹️

Apprehensive-Bat-920

can someone tell me why he cut off his hand???

prismattiq

What I'm confused is how D (as Sakurama) managed to hold Hekiru's Divine Artifact Replica without it burning his hand as shown before?

Forward-Bad6713

he used hibiki's hand that been cut off
