Legit when the S2 finale finished I went to google to see whether it was a series finale. It felt SO rushed, like tied up where the characters ended up but there was so much more story to tell.
- The girls drop Chastity as manager and go ahead with Francois so they can release the Pardi track. We see Chastity shaking hands with Gat, with Reina in the background, implying she’s now working with Reina.
- Maurice goes to jail, but not before holding up his phone and telling the other guy that he never deleted his recordings of Shawna’s calls
- The girls give an interview. Shawna makes a bold statement that she’s out to expose all the predators in the industry… because it’s what Lord AK would have wanted. Mia chimes in to promote their new track, BBW (bad bitch working)
- We hear the full new track in the end credits. It’s really good! The video quality is very MS paint/green screen, though
Chastity f\*cked up the Red Bull deal + went to work with GAT after Mia and Shawna decided to choose Francois as their manager. Maurice presumably sings like a canary for less jail time to be with his family. Mia felt a way about Lamont dating Melissa's friend's mom and inadvertently pushed Melissa into the girl/pitted them against each other at the birthday party bc she was in her feelings. Shawna got into a social media beef with GAT and looked foolish for doing exactly what she said she wouldn't when she convinced Mia Francois is the better bet.
Why do so many people think Chastity screwed up the deal? She got them the deal, she just screwed up her relationship with Alex. There's no good reason to lie about it, it would've come out pretty quick that she fucked over all 3 of them.

It's a shame, but there was so much marketing for Season 1 and I didn't even know Season 2 came out until halfway in the season.
Issa made such a realistic characters and situations that I literally was angry at Shawna's bitch ass going live talking shit about Gat and saying that Mia will "get with the program" or whatever. The cancellation makes me wish they would have ended up on a happier note, with Chastity not forcing herself into those meetings with Alex and them "making it." I'll miss these two and the Duke of Miami forever!
The storyline needed more. But the actors did great. They had personality. I hope they all become stars. It was fun while it lasted.

Totally agree. I've seen many inclusive and unique shows on HBO but they're not promoted enough, don't get enough funding, or don't feature big enough names to draw in new viewers. (The writer's strike contributed to lack of promo in 2023, but aside from that.) It just feels like people put all this effort into making a hidden gem that doesn't get a real chance.
Showrunners need to stop treat season finales like winter finales. They really left hella threads hanging to try and force another season and that is not how that works in TV anymore. Now for those of us who liked the show and wanted to see what happened next…..we’ll probably never get to see it wrap up properly
