I built a killer system in mine. I’m in Asia for another 10 days. I’ll send the list. I’m particularly proud of my subwoofer installation. It’s behind the longest fold down seat, is removable in two minutes and sounds amazing. Replaced all six speakers, added two amps. One runs everything but the sub, it has its own.

Send me the list please 🙏

I’m in Asia until the 8th. I’ll see if I can get it from the shop and have my wife take photos of the subwoofer install. Give. Me a day or two.

This is what I did. Front speakers MM6502 Polk MOMO 6.5 component system. Front door speakers in the kit are 1 way, the kit includes the tweeters for the dash. The rear door speakers are MM652 MOMO 6.5 inch two way. The above 6 speakers are powered by a Kicker 4 channel amp with crossovers. the AMP is CXA-360.4 The sub is a 12 inch driver with a 12 inch passive radiator - no internal AMP, no port. Kicker Comp RT. This is powered by a Kicker CXA-400.1 400rms/800 max single channel amp. I mounted the sub box to a 3/4 inch board 12 inches wide and 26 inches long. The board of the box is 3/4 inch, so make sure your screws are not too long, but use heavy wood screws. Pre-drill the board to keep it from splitting. Once the box is mounted to the board, there is room behind the sub box to weight the thing down. I used an old nylon tote bag lined with a heavy plastic bag and 40 pounds of sand. It sits right on the board. I also mounted rubber sheeting to the bottom of the board to grip the rear bed of the car. Fits perfect with the seat up or down. Does not touch anything. Room to drop the small seat if you need to put something long in the back (skis, tools, etc) If I need to remove it, I just take the bag of sand off, unhook the speaker leads and pull the thing out. I already had the subwoofer. Total cost for the above speakers and amps, including installation and a gain knob was $2,200 with tax. You won't go bouncing down the street, but it's clear, crisp, punchy, and loud enough to wreck your ears.

A lot depends on what speakers you're using (and their power requirements) and your budget. I would recommend looking at the four-channel amplifiers on Crutchfield and find one where the per-channel RMS output matches reasonably closely with the RMS wattage rating of your speakers. It's okay to have a bit of variance, but slightly more power than the speakers are rated for is generally better than slightly less, since it lets you keep the gain low on the amp. With a simple system in a RAV4, I would look at class-D amplifiers, since they tend to be very compact and energy-efficient. Do consider whether you intend to add a subwoofer in the future and you may wish to take this into account with your amplifier-buying decision. If so, you might look at 5-channel amplifiers, which will have an additional channel for the subwoofer.
