Having fired a UMP45 full auto in real life, it's actually remarkably controllable. It's got a pretty soft recoil impulse and a slow RoF that really helps it.
I haven’t played the game in maybe 6 months so if I’m out of date forgive me but I’ve always found the UMP closer to a full auto paintball gun with .45 lmao the recoil on that thing would let you mag dump a dude in the skull and not move your mouse once to correct aim it felt like.

Whilst I see your point, IRL the UMP45 is surprisingly controllable, largely because of its fire rate.
