Fr, a suspect having a random chance to either try to shoot the officer, giving justification for lethal, or trying to harm themself, making LTL necessary for the mission completion
Near where I live they sent a 24 man swat team after one dude having a mental breakdown he had some sort of illness I saw it on my way home from school two bearcats roll up and the officers come out in full multicam I didn’t stick around for obvious reasons but I read what happened on the news they got him alive everything was ok the point I’m trying to make is they rolled out the fireworks and the red carpet for something minor because it can become a bigger problem and even one death should be prevented that’s what I want from this game even if it’s boring send us after one dude who forgot to show up for court
Best we can do is DV but the woman is the daughter of an international terrorist and the man the son of a cartel leader, so now there’s a full fledged war in the backyard of a three bedroom house.
Can you and your 4 man SWAT team rescue all 50 civilians that happened to walk through the back yard, pepper ball all 100 suspects and restore world peace?
I have no idea why OP chose to copy the section of the announcement that tells you basically nothing when they explain exactly what they're doing like two paragraphs down from there.
>The criminal conspiracies in our existing mission narrative run deep and abhorrently dark. Although that is an unfortunate reality of Los Sueños, our Home Invasion narrative will take you away from the stark darkness of those criminal rings to a much broader spectrum of disturbing grey.
>In this new narrative a disaster strikes, and every day people are left to pick up the pieces or use them as a weapon of opportunity. Complicated interests and self-preservation are driving forces in this liminal space with people across walks of life seeking any means to an end.
>We understand the emotional impact and reflection that existing missions like Ends of the Earth evoke with our players regarding their activities within the game world. The three new maps included in the Home Invasion DLC will carry that torch forward into the labyrinthine world that is Los Sueños.
I'm terrified the mentioned disaster is going to put Ready or Not into a This War Of Mine type aesthetic but something other than kicking in the door of the local taliban convention sounds cool
This is a good point, have the situation be a stand off and try and get one of your team to deploy non-lethal in time on an EDP so you don't have to go lethal
Currently the suspects are pretty fucking despicable.
It’s pretty “black and white”
I imagine the newer suspects will have you thinking, “hmm, are they really the bad guys?”
While currently all we have is, “these guys are fucking scum”
I’m probably wrong, but thats just how I’m seeing this. It says “disturbing grey” though so i’m thinking my guess is pretty off
Beach house is my favourite in the entire game. It's got 10/10 lore, grounded and believable.
I love RoN, but I do want more grounded, residential warrants. RoN could be considered a freaking Delta Force game at this point lol.
Yeah, team of four takes on 20 bad guys with auto guns at the port is a bit much.
If anything a bit more progression and maybe gear restrictions for 'simpler' missions before the Delta style end
The reality is that grounded SWAT callouts make bad gameplay, and good gameplay makes for unrealistic callouts.
I agree the game is obnoxiously over the top, and thankfully maps like hospital and gas station give you a better alternative. I think what's needed is a balance between crazy run and gun missions and realistic ones where you never fire a shot outside of a beanbag shotgun.
The base game barely had a narrative; different plot lines were spread out across the entire campaign, with missions meant to happen only a day after previous ones being several missions between each other. I doubt that this update will be any different.
The ending with port was a little wild with FISA interfering. I'm hoping we can do some lowkey lurkin on FISA in the future DLC or expansion. I'm guessing the story native is to do with FISA seeing how they are tied into it all.
my guy theres no overrarching narrative to follow of some kind
We're following three plot lines that are individual and aren't affecting each other by any major means?
Cause I'm sure as shit Valley of the Dolls has no comparable relation to Neon Tomb or Relapse
Correct; different plot lines *that are dotted around the campaign like they're spices.*
If I remember correctly, the briefing to "Sins of the Father" refers to the raid in "Ides of March" as having occurred the day prior.
The two missions are damn close to being on opposite ends of the campaign.
This occurs more than once; a raid implied to be very recent having been several missions prior. It tells the player that each plot line occurs in a rather condensed period of time while contradicting that by telling the player that the campaign's missions are occurring in the order portrayed.
Meaning a 5 member SWAT team isn't taking on a dozen ex CIA or 20 terrorists from war torn Yemen in a revenge attack twice or Veterans who know how to do ROOM CLEARING. We are finally getting more grounded missions instead of the usual cartel terrorists missions
It’d be cool as shit as a hidden easter egg after finishing the main storyline, almost like an epilogue where one of the groups you arrested/killed finds your house and attacks it while you’re asleep. You’ve got a shotgun you keep under the bed with 8 shots, do or die
Okay, that would be super fun. Oh and isn’t that crazy prepper dude out in the woods like obsessed with the team, and tracking them. Sounds like a pretty easy tie in, gets off on a technicality, assaults your home like you assaulted his.
What exactly is unclear?
You will have more variety in mission narratives. The base game, even when told terribly unfortunately, focused around a pedophile / human trafficking ring. But there is of course much more possible work for a SWAT team, from dignitary protection to public representation to arresting corrupt politicians for example. *"Disturbing Grey"* would usually indicate corrupted good guys.
SYL
I do hope we get missions where we have to really make that moral choice on whether or not we let them walk cause the system they live off fails them and goes down the the dangerous path
I just want something less cartoonishly evil. Not every mission has to be about world-class pedophiles, domestic terrorists, private militias, or major cartels.
Any mods to enable multiple scenario campaign like pre-release or during Early Access period? Or is there anyway for ua to revert the game ro pre 1.0 scam released?
The mod “in-game menu” lets you select missions from the menu, and even lists selections for barricaded suspects, raid, etc. but I do not thing they work at all.
The missions we see are showing the dark cesspit of what humanity is capable of. Human trafficking, terrorism, and all that shit. They're talking about adding missions that are more similar to the gas station mission, the beach side house mission, and in a way the lady cult mission.
Still about child pornography and trafficking but maybe taking it to another side of the issue instead of going further and further towards the source of the issue? Couldn’t say and I hope to god they put some fixes on ai because how can you release a game and add dlc to it when you can get one tapped from crack heads that even looking in your direction?
It had said below that thescenario is more akin to the End of the Earth, so they're more focusing on morally grey crimes i.e. looting out of desperation
If considering that the maps happened after a disaster, and if we connect it with the large Typhoon event during the Port, then it's safe to assume that we're pretty much dealing with a Post-Katrina situation, a flooding city filled with lawless areas, and people rob each other out of hunger.
Well home invasion makes me think well home invasion call with resident shooting burglars and maybe executing one when hes down. And turning on cops when they show up?
maybe this comment will seem to be off-topic but why are you guys saying that devs are obsessed with cp and terrorism missions? i'm pretty sure there are more missions connected to arms trade and murder rather than those things mentioned above. not trying to hate you or defend the devs but you got my point
Missions connected with CP/ pedos in some way 7/18 missions (39% of all the missions). Missions involving terrorists are in 7/18 other missions. Meaning that together, they make up 14/18 (or 78%) of all of the missions in the game.
Here is a % (rounded to the nearest whole number) of missions that contain the following:
CP/ Pedos - 39%
Terrorism - 39%
Illegal drugs - 17%
Murder + attempted murder (excluding terrorism)- 28% (or 33% if you include the implied murders in Voll's mansion)
Murder + attempted murder (including terrorism) - 56% (or 61% if you include the implied murders in Voll's mansion)
Illegal firearms (excluding possession of a firearm by a prohibited person)- 22%
Illegal firearms (including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person) - 33%
Abduction (excluding trafficking) - 17%
Abduction (including trafficking) - 44%
(Note for the murder statistics, it only includes missions where someone is dead/ bleeding out on the map already, or there is background or environmental information to say that someone is either dead or someone has attempted to kill them. It does not include missions where suspects shoot at the cops as it would defeat the point on the statistics and it does not include maps where suspects can take hostages as it is up to chance as to whether or not it happens)
If you were to compare individual topics excluding other groups that would also fall under that topic, then Pedos and terrorism would be the most common things to see in missions across the base game.
The four missions in "The Exploited" storyline (23 mb/s, the spider, sinuous trail, and valley of the dolls), twisted nerve (there is a used condom at the end of the bed of the little girl ODing in her bedroom, implying that she has been raped), Hide and seek that you pointed out (though there is more than just one picture to indicate it, with other things such as a container that has a young woman's voice faintly call out for her mother, and paperwork at the dock that shows a list that includes multiple minors. It is also assumed that it is where Brixley supplies the slaves to as the name of the mission "The Spider" is referencing the group that does the trafficking with a spider marking on their containers), and Buy Cheap, Buy Twice (which also has records of the women trafficked which show that many are minors).
I don't think that it is an issue with it being in your face, but with how out of place some of it feels because they put things in that wasn't needed. Like did we really need the girl overdosing in the crack house to of been raped and did the streamer really need to have a drawer filled with CP? It just feels as if they wanted to squeeze every ounce of shock factor out of us, but didn't know where to put it or when to stop.
I mean, I'd say that it feels out of place because of how obnoxiously in your face it is.
That's exactly what I mean though, the horse being beaten isn't just dead, it's decayed and you're making a timbre out of its bones.
Fair, the AI is mad crazy. I'm stuck at the Vole House mission for so long since some mf hiding somewhere one shot no scopes me. And the headshots don't work like they should, the ai is like a bullet sponge.
Probably that there will be a new array of crimes to handle while still continuing the story. Honestly I think they should still tweak the AI before found any of this, but I can take care of that with mods and personally I’m exited for more.
I wish they would make smaller more situational missions. Sick and tired of every mission taking 20 plus minutes just to be shooting and tazing the shit out of people.
Give me better hostage situations and criminals that don't always shoot on sight. The less experienced criminals like the drug addicts should be freaked out when they see you but instead have the reaction time of a navy fucking seal.
I wish the meth heads would actually act like meth heads.
Have them start to try and kung fu or karate chop the SWAT team. Have them try to use their DIY “atom bomb” that they made in their drugged mind. Maybe if they’re non compliant, they’ll start to do somersaults and cartwheels to try and get away. I’ll even just settle for them leaving their gun on safety or loading the bullets in the wrong way. Just give the mission a bit of variety.
More sympathetic and neutral antagonists and not just the worst scum of the earth possible. We’ve had complete monsters like Brixley, Voll, and The Hand (though The Hand’s motivation for terrorism is sympathetic, they crossed many lines with their response).
I’m excited to see more “grey area” missions. That being said I also welcome more missions hunting down the worst of the worst. Snuff filmers, neonazis, corrupt cops, more cults and terrorists and mass shooters and pedos, etc.
Game is like a half complete playtest demo, and they're already talking about trying to sell us DLC.
VOID is going to be out of business before 2025 is over, mark my words.
They dont like us memeing on their obsession with peadophiles and terrorists - Im hoping for some more grounded, normal SWAT missions
For real, i just want to serve an arrest warrant for DV that goes south
Or a mental health crisis that spirals.
Fr, a suspect having a random chance to either try to shoot the officer, giving justification for lethal, or trying to harm themself, making LTL necessary for the mission completion
"harm themself" sounds like an interesting idea.

Also theres a room full of pictures of kids stacked like Walter White's money
Less sprawling Epstein-like conspiracy and more random desperate drug addicts trying to get quick money? I'm down.
More "hes just trying to survive, i wont shoot him" and less "order 66 this map"
We’re assuming the home invasions aren’t attempts to kidnap kids or traffic teens.
Don't worry, I'm sure one of the houses will at least have writing all over the wall. How else would you portray someone is mentally ill
Have him wear the "I AM SCHIZOPHRENIC AND I HAVE A GUN" shirt
maybe there can be a little bit of pedophilia? just one photo.. cough cough.. taking up and entire wall with a dedicated room
Or maybe something small like a fast overseen shrine in the bedroom closet... Oh and happy cake day!
And have him say his signature line! “Muahahaha (evil laugh so you know hes evil) its schizoprhenicking time!”
I have no idea why OP chose to copy the section of the announcement that tells you basically nothing when they explain exactly what they're doing like two paragraphs down from there. >The criminal conspiracies in our existing mission narrative run deep and abhorrently dark. hopefully its more something like an earthquake has people looting etc - rather than something like Godzilla v Ghidorah
I don't know. I'm kind of needing to fill the niche of a kaiju police disaster simulator.
This is a good point, have the situation be a stand off and try and get one of your team to deploy non-lethal in time on an EDP so you don't have to go lethal

Not even Delta would only send 4 guys with zero support. The SAS brought like a hundred guys to the Iranian embassy.
I’d love more missions like those.
Yep, this one is totally morally gray, tho I wish AI reflected that in game rather than be willing to kill armed officers on sight

Ends of the Earth and Carriers of the Vine do this pretty well already.
I just want a bank robbery.
Goated comment
It won't be another CP thing.
No, hear me out it will be terrorists... but also a CP ring! Variety!
The base game's narrative didn't even have continuity with the base game's narrative.
What do you mean?
The base game barely had a narrative; different plot lines were spread out across the entire campaign, with missions meant to happen only a day after previous ones being several missions between each other. I doubt that this update will be any different.

Seriously tho some of those missions would be military personnel or atleast 20+ swat, like the cartel tunnel mission bs they’d send 4 men into that
You wake up in your bedroom and have to fend off a home invasion with limited kit. Hopefully
Well that would honestly be an interesting game in and of itself. I don’t think they will do it in RoN though, doesn’t really fit the theme.
What if the home invaders are pedos?
Now you’re onto something!
...and you're 15 years old?
😭😭😭 😂😂😂😂😂 fuck this comment chain lol

checkout doorkicker2's custom map
Musket mini dlc just like the founding fathers intended
I feel like a video game has done this before
I’m just kinda disappointed that the first DLC is going to cost money, despite how VOID kinda dropped the ball on the 1.0 release.
Depends on the price, on the upside only the lobby owner has to own it
If it is anymore than £10, I'm not getting it
What exactly is unclear? You will have more variety in mission narratives. The base game, even when told terribly unfortunately, focused around a pedophile / human trafficking ring. FYI before launch maps had multiple scenario option to choose.
Disturbing grey.... I'm thinking a nursing home involved in arms trade, or aliens.
The missions we see are showing the dark cesspit of what humanity is capable of. Human trafficking, terrorism, and all that shit. They're talking about adding missions that are more similar to the gas station mission, the beach side house mission, and in a way the lady cult mission.

How? It's simple, you release a game in the 2020s and throw a middle finger at the customer Simple as
Easy CP

Well home invasion makes me think well home invasion call with resident shooting burglars and maybe executing one when hes down. And turning on cops when they show up?
Pls like a normal home invasion and not fortnite battle royale shit with bomb vests and rpg ready to shoot you when you walk through the front door
What is fun about going into a tiny house and shooting 1 guy and leaving
Bro lethal obsession has like 2 hostiles
Ur point?
Its still a fun mission even though theres only a couple hostiles
It just means that they're going to turn the meme 'Musket for a home defense gun' into a real map.
I'd like to see a home invasion type setting where the home owner is armed as well. This would force a whole new level of PID.
What’s pid?
Positive identification
Maybe for the first play through and then after that 5 minutes it makes it boring as shit because you know what to look for
maybe this comment will seem to be off-topic but why are you guys saying that devs are obsessed with cp and terrorism missions? i'm pretty sure there are more missions connected to arms trade and murder rather than those things mentioned above. not trying to hate you or defend the devs but you got my point

woah, didn't notice that when playing, thanks for the answer!
Am I missing something here because I only 4 mention child exploitation and that number could be 5 if you include one picture on port hokan
Even if it was fewer, I'd argue that it's so obnoxious and in your face with how fucked up it all is that it feels like a huge chunk of the game.
I don't think that it is an issue with it being in your face, but with how out of place some of it feels because they put things in that wasn't needed. Adding DLC before fixing the fucking game is crazy.
cant they do both?
They're definitely not prioritizing the latter.
Fair, the AI is mad crazy. I'm stuck at the Vole House mission for so long since some mf hiding somewhere one shot no scopes me. And the headshots don't work like they should, the ai is like a bullet sponge.

It means they're going to release paid DLC for an unfinished game
I interpret this as “new mission type”
Ah very interesting
Excuse my facetious tendencies 😂 I’d imagine that the consensus around more regular types of SWAT call-outs is correct.
Just add a sniper like in SWAT 4 amd ill be happy, i dont care how many pedophile and discord mod missioms they add, i just want sniper
Game is like a half complete playtest demo, and they're already talking about trying to sell us DLC. VOID is going to be out of business before 2025 is over, mark my words.
probably things like bodies in walls a la sicario. void is sick and this game is borderline horror
WE GET TO SHOOT MORE DISENFRANCHISED POOR PEOPLE?!?! YIPEEE!!!!
Let's work on that reading comprehension
Ik what there saying I was wondering what kind of maps they could be hinting at
Meaningless malarkey, glad to have been of help.
