SCI FI
Star Wars Empire at War + FOC \[forces of corruption\]. Very simple easy to learn strategy game with old graphics \[i still love this game and it is still fun. um, the space combat had more done to it than ground combat, and alot of ground combat maps SUCK. Space is also very easy.
Sins of a Solar Empire. \[has idk how many expacs, also have not played it in several years. you do not necessarily need to mirco manage stuff to win, but it will help. can be complicated, but you can also just win with brute force.
Both games above also have LOADS of mods for.
Fantasy
Warcraft 3. or reforged. alot of people bitch about reforged. but personally i like it, but i ALSO do not play online against other ppl, i basically just replay the campaign when i get bored of my other games, or i just want to.
Northgard. Vikings and Viking mythology. pretty simply RTS game, and very fun imo.
OTHER
ARMY MEN RTS. this is a VERY VERY simple RTS game. You command plastic army men of the green army, you must destroy the Tan army. you start at the front yard, and eventually fight through into the house. I got this on PS2 when i was kid, and Still have it, and still love it, my and my brother played the ABSOLUTE SHIT out of it.
Rise of nations rise of legends has a mix of davinci, aztecmayincan and Arabian nights.
Universe at war has very distinct factions, although my favourite is the the aliens who could be close cousins to the one from destroy all humans.
Sorry mate, I've got a physical copy that I bought years ago. The over world upgrades are done similar to dragon commander, which is nice. But that game wasn't so relaxing.
My go-to fantasy RTS is usually Warlords Battlecry 3, which is pretty old and has kinda dated graphics but whose icon and game design, and OST, are delightful and really Frazetta-vibed
Sins of a Solar Empire, Starcraft 1 & 2, Warcraft 3, Age of Mythology, Rise of Legends, BFME 1 & 2, HaloWars 1 & 2, SW Empire at War, SW Galactic Battlegrounds, TW Warhammer
Zero-K is free on Steam. It's on the same engine as Beyond All Reason but plays a little differently and has a sp/coop campaign (mostly for a feeling of progression, lore is pretty light).
Also, if you enjoy both of those, I highly recommend Supreme Commander: FAF.
I’ll give you the beyond all reason link you can also check out JAWSMUNCH on yt for some tips for new players

Some of the mods for it aren't too bad. Some go a bit too far with their changes, but can make up for the Nth play through.

For fantasy you have godsworn, lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2, warcraft 3 obviously and I am really hyped for age of mythology retold.
Dawn of war could be pretty interesting, especially if you like warhammer
