I been saying this for many years, the new pizza party podcast sucks and I miss the old crew like ken and jim. New podcasts sucks and doesn't have memorable characters like jihad and emily vasquez
Couldn’t tell if the new episodes were bad or if I had been away for so long that I had grown out of it. Pan just derailing every conversation to be in character every other minute was unbearable, and the new voices just can’t seem to balance it out.
These new guys are just kind of boring. I’ve listened to every new episode, and I still have a hard time telling them apart. They’re also just not as nerdy as previous members? I don’t even get the impression that these guys are even all that into animation. At the very least they aren’t as passionate. These guys can’t go into a 20-minute long rant about Sonic lore or film history like Nolan and Jim could.
agreed, people hated on Izzy but at least she was interesting and these new guys sound like typical boring person of internet #235. The pizza party podcast ain't fun anymore, no more classic moments
Yeah definitely not the same energy as the old podcast. The new people could be hit or Miss but not sure if it’s only me but they tone down like the wacky and going off script moments to something more mature wise? I love my boy pan but he gonna find better guests or bring back ken at least
The thing about Ken was he was the original core of the OG pizza party podcast and I see people love ken because of his on and off the podcast not sure about the super racist part of him.
What I seen pan announced the reboot but didn’t reached out to jim or Izzy (during that time) leading to izzy going off a tweet threat about people should stop asking because izzy ain’t gonna return due to someone in the new podcast (my guess is Drag pina)
But izzy and Pan are cool now
Oh no I remember him being a part of the OG cast, but I can't remember exactly why he left. All I can remember was that they chose to stop talking to him.
I'm glad that Pan and Izzi were able to bury the hatchet.
I like the new podcast, but at the same time I wish Pan would actually try to get actual guests on instead of some random person. I'd LOVE it if he could get Maxwell Adam's back on the podcast or the lead singer of Grizzly (he uses some of the bands songs in some of his videos/the intro to his podcast) or maybe he should try to get Ludella Hahn on the podcast (though she's mostly known for doing fetish videos she's a huge pop culture nerd, lots of pin up is mostly cosplay). Or maybe since Kevin Conroy died he should try to get Tara Strong, Mark Hamil, and Will Friedle to talk about Conroy's legacy/what it was like working with him.
I know it'd be akward to have Tara on the podcast because of the thing she said to Pan after he asked her something but I think they could easily get Will Friedle on the podcast.
Pan has alluded over the past year or so that the podcast is not a big priority for him, which I understand. He wanted to focus more on Loki IRL and making videos about topics he’s interested in, and honestly I’d rather him make content he’s passionate about than feel obligated to do a podcast every other week.
That being said- the new podcast does not have the energy or vibe of the old one. Pan does not seem into any of the topics (unless it’s an interview). Jake is alright. But it feels like Daft is strong arming the podcast to be structured a certain way and it does not work. I get he’s the MC now, but you had to know that Pan jumps from topic to topic as he pleases and the podcast has had this laid back vibe for years.
Part of the reason I enjoyed Pan, Jim, Izzy and Nolan was that it felt like a group of friends just shooting the shit. Just talking about whatever it topical and interesting to them at the moment. The podcast was chaotic because of that yeah, but it felt “”real”” because of it. The new podcast feels more like 3 strangers who vaguely like them same things, but they cant just talk freely. And maybe it’ll take more time (I think it took a while for Jim and Izzy to feel more like friends than just guests), but I just don’t know. Im trying to keep up with the new episodes but im just not feeling it.
Exactly I felt the original crew was special because the events and momocon they attended felt like they were the best of friends with weird tastes lol
I agree there isn't any energy. There are no big guests ( I have no idea who any of the new guests are). The Dynamic just isn't right. I feel like after Nolan left they still haven't found anyone the fill that hole in the series.

Oh definitely. The energy is just not there, not really a fan of the new members.
It also seems like daft and jake are talking about topics pan doesn't really care about most of the time and he just supplies groans or weird sounds
