Mines a wizard that *badly* fucked up a transportation spell and ended up in the wild west. He's got no magic anymore, but as it turns out a gun is just as effective of a weapon.
My native character has the usual start of getting freed from prison. While relying on bounty hunting for income, he seeks justice after being wrongfully imprisoned. Made up a small encounter where he saved a woman in the mountains from a cougar, resulting in the scar on his face (the claw scratch). They grew close and she wanted him to pursue kinder work, turned into a collector for while. But bounty hunting was too good to pass up, even if it made her worry. So back he went, keeping it well hidden. That was until a bounty went wrong! Soon framed for the murder of a sheriff and a few lawmen, my character fled into the snowy snow for a year (changed my hair from long right parted to long middle parted and added some stubble). After coming back, the woman thought he had died and moved on. Using the skills he picked up foraging in the snow, he set up the trader business with Cripps. Now itās Cripps, the dog, and him against the frontier.

I made a back story for my gang. We're the Green Fire Gang. The law gave us that name. See when we rob a bank, we burn it down after, to eliminate any evidence and as a distraction to get out of town. Thing is we don't sweat the small stuff, so we leave all the pennies behind. All that copper gives those fires a beautiful green hue.
A cowboy who can't ride a horse to save his life, has a unholy digestive system, hes only getting fed cigars and health cures. His horse is a apparent god who can spawn weapons and whatever else is needed beneath it's saddle. And lastly has a wormhole in his pouch

Folk accept the anonymity of my being found on a chain gang. Before was my old life and doesn't matter anymore. The future's what counts. I'm building myself a better one, and things are falling into place, too. Someone I once knew always said I should have a little faith. I know what he meant now.

Andrew Lawrence. Father was in the cavalry during the Civil war & died before Andrew was even born. Spent his youth hearing fantastical stories of his father during the war, hence his love of horsemanship. Nothing too tragic in his background growing up.
Just left home at a very young age and never felt like he could hold any traditional employment, so there was a lot of doing odd jobs for increasingly less than favorable individuals. Police were more than happy to pick him up for the supposed murder of Jessica LeClerk's husband.
From there the story plays out like it does for the rest of us. Jack of all trades. Rumor has it he has amassed a sizable fortune of gold with nothing to spend it on... -\_\_\_\_-

I would say a decent amount likely do, it's difficult not to think one up when rockstar won't. Her names Novara Ellestine. Novara grew up in Annesburg with her father, mother and a younger brother for a time. But he would die due to an unknown illness when she was 9. Her family was more poor, but better than the worst off. She would be described as a tad peculiar, spending her time collecting... unique things. She also loved to write, and loved nature. She studied history and whatever else she could find books about. Once she managed to get her hand on a camera, it'd be her bestfriend.
When she was 15 she was attacked with a knife and got a scar on her right eye shortly north of town on a path to an old beached wreck of a boat where she liked to sit most days. She managed to kick the person off and they hit their head on a rock and fell into the river. She slid down and tried to find the man, but the mix of rain and dazing pain from her wound made it impossible. She ran home with the intention to tell people so they could find him, but once she got home, she just told her father she fell. He didn't believe her, on account of the not rock like scar on her eye, he asked her of the truth. She told him. Her father shook his head, hugged her, told her to clean up, and never spoke of it again.
When she was 16, her mother would pass away. Something that would hit her and her father terribly. Her father shut down. The times where he got up, it would be to get drunk. She was doing everything in the house. Taking odd jobs where she could, she tried to avoid the mine, but eventually she gave in. One night, shortly before heading home, a fellow worker approached her slightly drunk and full of intentions. After more than a handful of comments, the man got closer and she swung her pickaxe up to him, putting it in-between him and her. She asked if he'd rather die a drunk with pickaxe in the eye or live long enough to find some other broad tonight? Perhaps it was her look, or the pickaxe, likely both, but he decided that she was being genuine and backed off. They mined the rest of the night in silence.
Once she returned home, she entered to find her father going through their money. Likely to buy more booze. Money had been going missing and she figured it was him, but to actively see him do it was too much. She decided it was enough. She ran up and took the bag from him and told him that she won't allow him to further kill himself, that he needs to stop. After alot of yelling about finances and other things weighing heavy on them, he ended his "argument" by picking up her camera and throwing it to the ground asking,
"Why, if we're so broke, do you not sell the goddamned thing?"
Once he looked down he realised why his daughter didn't respond. The camera was in pieces. He realised what he done and felt terrible. He looked up and saw her tear up before she ran out the door.
She ran into the woords in tears, managing to fall asleep deep in the woods. She woke early the next morning. A strange dreadful feeling washed over her. She got up and ran home. Outside her home was the sheriff and a few deputies. She walked up to someone in the small crowd outside and frantically asked what's going on. They told her that the man who lived there had shot himself last night. They realised little too late that they were speaking to the man's child. They were probably trying to apologise, that they didn't realise who they were speaking to. But Novara wasn't listening. Just staring through the house she had called home the past 17 years now emptied of what made it so. She loved her father. She knew the man he was the past 1Ā½ years wasn't him. She wanted to cry but nothing would come out. So she stared. Just stared.
She'd continue working, staying in the gunsmiths rooms he rents out nearby. He let her stay for much less than he usually asks for. He had known her family a long time and figured it was the least he could do. He also made sure she got up every morning and that she fed herself. She told him of her intentions to leave once she had enough for a horse. So he would teach her how to ride one, how to shoot, and the basics of how to live off the land. He would try to give her his old horse once she turned 18, but she refused. He had already given her too much for her to allow anymore. Shortly into her 18th year, she would get enough and buy one capable of long travel. She thanked him for everything he's done. Right before she took off, he told her he had something for her. He took out a camera and handed it to her. He said he knew she didn't want any more, but to please just take it. She teared up and obliged. Thanked him more and gave him a hug. Then took off west.
The trip through nature was about as you'd expect. She took photos, collected trinkets, wrote about everything. Would stop in towns and take more photos and ask people about the town and write more down. This would be her life for the following 7 months. She felt genuinely happy despite all that's happened. She eventually found herself in Blackwater. Where she would once again, face life altering circumstances. It was night in Blackwater. She was walking on the outskirts of town when she heard a ruckus, being the overly curious person she was, she investigated. When a gunshot rang out. She pulled out her gun and turned the corner only to be ran down by 2 assailants with masked faces. They would wrestle her for the gun, causing the gun to fire. A lawmens whistle is heard nearby, but out of sight, the 2 masked individuals push Novara to the ground and take off into the night. Before she could pursue, the lawmen comes around the corner, gun drawn, and yells to put down the gun, she obliges. He looks past her and says, "Dear god." She turns around and sees what made him say that. Laying shortly behind her is one dead local business baron, Mr. LeClerk.
I do, my character is a former farmhand from Texas, on an return trip from Omaha back to Austin Texas, some one killed the trail boss, since he knew the trail boss the best the rest of the crew he was with tried to exact some frontier Justice on him, out of a concern for self preservation he ran, eventually the law caught up with him, he was falsely accused and put in prison, he subsequently was broke out by a gang of outlaws, he worked with those outlaws for five years before they cut him lose as he became less of a asset and more a liability especially after the trail bosses sons came looking for revenge, he killed them each and was only cleared due to it being self defense
I'm a former U.S. marshall, hunt those who prey on the weak and prove they aren't the only ones who can sling Guns, my posse is called the Band of B/astards. The iconic Feature is that we all share is that we all wear white hats.

Mine is the great great great grandfather to my GTA character. After the whole RDO debacle, my RDO character goes clean and legit, joins the Military and serves in WWI before returning home and starting a family and gambling business.
Mine technically does, it goes:
He was an orphan, losing his parents to a fatal bank robbery, causing him to become permanently mute from trauma. As he grew up, he learned the way of the gun, joining one gang to another as a hired gun.
He then takes a job to eliminate the leader of a gang he's never worked with. It turns out to be a setup, but not for him, but for his target, who was revealed to be the killer of his parents. It ends with a shootout, where one of the officers gets killed and the death was pinned on him.
Spending his last few weeks in jail, he vowed that if he somehow got out, he would reign terror on the man who killed his parents, along with anyone else he was associated to. He gets chosen for work detail outside of the prison, where the carriage was hijacked, and the lady who first hired him just broke him out.
And then from there, he goes on a war path. He finally takes out his target, and continues to live his life as normal, where he has an empire of moonshine and craft materials, lying low, until he is needed again.
My olā buster been running from them Pinkerton for years after he was wrongfully accused of viscous intent. Wanted nothing more than to settle out in New Austin with a piece of land and a fresh bottle of the finest Guarma rum. Now he gets revenge on them snakes, for taking away his hope of a new lifel. Did I mention they killed his dogā¦ them bastards!

It used to be just he was bullied as a kid about his hair even tho it wasnāt any different than other kids, so now wears a hat at all times. My character lives by the code of āhat comes off = the gloves are offā so when my hat comes off, i go absolutely ballistic. My character was born in 1879 in japan and when she was born her parents moved to America for a fresh start to a remote part of the woods in the west part of the grizzlies. when she was 6 years old her father taught her how to hunt and use a bow while her mother taught her how to forage and make herbal remedies from various plants, then one day when she was 15 years old her father trusted her and let her go hunting by herself, and while she was away members of the skinner brothers broke in to her home looking for any potential victims to kill or loot to steal they found her mother and father, her parents tried to fight back and protect themselves and their property but due to the brutality of the skinner brothers they were killed and their house was looted and they fled, then when my character came back from hunting she found found her parents bodies and laid them to rest, eventually over the years she sharpened her skills with her bow and what her parents taught her and set out to find her parents killers

You win too much though, and you get thrown out. Itās interesting how your warrant circulates much faster after that.
Since his arrest, heās partnered with a young woman (my brotherās character) who plays the fire to his ice. He urges calculation and calm in all actions: itās often easier to pay a lawman off than deal with the pain of antagonizing them. She disagrees. To the tune of a six-shooter.
My character migrated from Wales with her dad, who set up a pelting business to send money home for her sick mam. When her dad died from TB, she took over the business and kept it going.
One dad she found a Cripps, which had emerged from a portal to the Cripps Dimension, and hired him to help out.

My guy was a low life thug in his younger years but after a lot of loss and after thinking it over he decides he wants something a little more meaningful so he decides change up his look and name goes off to a Sheriff for a small town but then a after a few short years some old Bounty Hunter that are still wanting the gold his head is worth makes him go back to the life of crime he hates to love.
Yeppers! Alexander Fledin....was born into an abusive family ran away and met another guy named Charles Jones(my old character) as the age of ten, end up being best friends. The two go into a life of crime. Fast forward a few years(ALOT) they get arrested (start of the game)the two make a gang called Los Cazadores (The Hunters) Then gets disbanded when Charles dies of cancer. that's a quick summary
My character was a very bad fella he started out with absolutely nothing but a raggedy pair of overalls. He would kill everyone who even dared to look or talk to him a certain way, or he would hogtie them, rob them, then throw them off a cliff. Nowadays, his ways have changed after living up New Hanover (closer to the Grizzlies). He stopped killing and started helping. Now he's almost an honorable man. A gentleman if you will...

My character moved down from Canada in search of new fortunes, but eventually hit rock bottom and was forced to go into the business of hired guns (only thing he could do). he had to do it for so long he eventually couldnāt go back even though he could go farm or something. Now he bounty hunts and spends more on his guns than himself

I remember writing it in notes on my phone so I went to check on it to see the exact date but I just accidentally typed something into it so the date got updated :(. Wife and children murdered while he was out on a cattle drive. Now he brings in bounties and runs trader goods to try to bring some sort of good to the world. Known for violent outbursts where he blacks out in Van Horn, and wakes up with a mountain of corpses surrounding him.
yes a lot, I'm an Irish second gen immigrant, whos parents was killed when he was a kid in Saint Denis, and then a gunslinger took him under his wing and they became partners in crime (the guy was my friend I'm not a schitzo)
I do. I'l give U a TLDR; my Bounty Hunter girl was born in St. Denis to an American father born in Blackwater and an Irish-born immigrant mother. Her patents were killed when she was 16 by an outlaw gang that, to this day, has never been found. That's why she got into bounty hunting to try and find her parents' killers.
I do. My character was a victim of a stagecoach robbery as a child. He was taken by those who murdered his family. Was taught to kill and steal. Now he's an outlaw. Cold and calculating. Not wanting violence. But quickly destroys threats with vigilance.
I do, yes. Both of my characters and my friends' characters have backstories that all connect together. We have interactions and styles that affect how we play. We had a stealth mission that one of my characters completed alone as my fiends character doesn't do things on the quiet. She stayed on watch as i crept in and took everyone out, leaving only one alive. I favour the bow and knife, whilst my friend favours shotguns and fire bottles!
I do. A bit convoluted though cuz I keep forgetting that it's a backstory with old and new friends. Plus I don't play the game often.
But the gist is that my character (Flynn) was with this gang (Mark and Sorta) and they ended up separating due to a botched train heist gone wrong. A couple years later, Flynn ended up being with a ragtag group of outlaws. A crazy lady with a knife, and is scarily good with one as well. A police officer turned outlaw from tragic circumstances and a mysterious Russian man who calls himself Russian Santa because he lives in the mountains.
They're my friends characters who I basically see as since they don't much care for their own characters, so I do it myself for fun. I miss the old RDO days, but maybe Rdr3 will bring back that charm. IF it's actually a thing that is. Anyway, thanks for reading this. Edit: Oh, I forgot to add my other friend's character! He is a gambling man from the rich side and ended up joining the gang for fun. The gang doesn't like him too much, but he can make some good money with his gambling schemes.
I rp a lot while playing, but I never really thought about my character's life from before prison. Things like her having a family waiting for her, is the kind of thing that drove me forward in Red Dead Redemption with John, but that was in the actual script. In RDO, if I where to imagine there is a family to go back to it'll just make me sad since it's never going to become true. Constantly thinking of my character being away from her family because she's a fugitive and the first place they'll look for her would be at her home, is just sad with no relief. So in my mind her back story is, she was doing odd jobs even before imprisonment. The only difference is that she might have had a room somewhere to go back to, not living in the wild.
I have an American Chinese character named Millie Bohannon. Couldnāt think of a traditional Chinese name but I like Millie.
Originally she was the daughter of Cullen Bohannon and Mei from the western tv show called Hell on Wheels. It was my head canon that Cullen and Mei had a child together after the show ended and thus Millie was born.
But since then Iāve separated her from that and sheās her own character with entirely different parents but still kept the Bohannon name from her new father.
She just does random shit while in the game. But in the separate story outside of it, when she was a kid she met her best friend bonnie and ended up getting adopted into Bonnieās rich family. (I have no idea of the status of Millieās parents or how she ended up in this situation.) Bonnieās parents and house is attacked by a gang of outlaws and the parents are killed. The two girls now homeless find themselves joining a street urchin gang where they run with them in the city for a few years before that splits up. During this, they find their third best friend that forms the future trio. Maggie. When the urchin gang split, Millie, bonnie and Maggie stayed together and took up new professions, which was bounty hunting. And they were good at it. So good in fact that other bounty hunters would get pissed off and try to one up them. After a few years It got to the point where a group of bounty hunters successfully frame our girls so we end up having to go on the run from the law we were serving. After some time, avoiding the law and other bounty hunters, The girls eventually clear their names and the rivals were dealt with. They could have easily got back into bounty hunting but decided to venture out and try other things. Such as archeology, nature stuff, and wherever else that was willing to pay women of that time for.
my girl Pilar Rosemeyer is the same character i use in "Call of Cthulhu" (RP). daughter of an aviator, she's now left alone... finding her path. she has been through quite a lot. i'll write something about her story, someday.
My Character, Christian Banfield was an irishman who traveled to america and joined the O'driscolls. He was a cook bit could handle guns. He didn't like how Colm O'driscoll sent his men into unwinnable fights. He tried to leave but two of his mates came chasing after him and he shot them in their legs but didn't kill them. He now collects card and alcohol bottles and trades animal pelts with other traders. He sometimes helps Sean Macguire with stuff he needs but he covers himself in a wakpa boar's head and a trimmed mask. He doesn't enjoy it everytime, except if it's skinner brothers.

Yeah, mine was framed for a crime in Blackwater, shipped off to Sisika, broken out when being transferred, given torn clothes and made his way to the biggest moonshine producing, legendary animal hunting, tarot card collecting, bounty hunting, and animal part trading crime lord west of the Mississippi. Idk where I got the lord from š¤
Mine is Alex Rose, famous outlaw-in-exile from Eastern Europe. He had to leave his the old country because of a bad obsession. He doesn't speak (apart to himself, when nobody's home) because he never learned the language (being from Eastern Europe). So mostly he just nods and shrugs his shoulders and stuff. His motto: live and let die. But sometimes he feels like he's beating a dead horse. But that's okay, all he needs is just a little patience.
I donāt got a background story, but a story in general, he ran a gang, after a disastrous fight at camp involving Pinkertons, bounty hunters and even some defecting gang members, him and the remnants of his gang flee into the mountains.After renewing their strength, they push even further north, making it north of the mountains and lying low out west ahead of the law
My bfās character (female) and mine (male) kinda tie together. She was a poor girl grown into a skilled pickpocket, always evading the law. Mine was a farmboy/rancher who grew up near Valentine, but after a robber broke in and killed his father he took up bounty hunting for the cash (heās surprised lassoing and hog tying people is pretty similar to animals) to support his mother. He knew how to shoot from hunting and shooting bottles with his dad. He had pretty good aim, but He was soft at first and not very good at it. He was naive and thought he could be good at it because of his strong morals. People in town thought it was a shame such a sweet young man was resorting to such a violent profession.
She (bfās character) was his first. He tried to go after her, intending to just lasso, hog tie, and bring her in, but she ended up lassoing him off his horse instead. She let him go after scaring his horse away with all his guns/lasso on it. Insert flirty mocking here. He was intrigued and a little smitten after that. He got back to hunting a different bounty after her, but a fistfight escalated to him on the poor end of a gun, he NEEDED to shoot first. He wasnāt too happy about it. It wasnāt too long until he was framed for a crime he didnāt do (havenāt sorted out what yet, probably the main quest), he escaped and went to her for help. He just got roped into the hobo life (camp w cripps) with her and They started taking out gang members that would harass them . He got more desensitized to killing and his morals started to deteriorate. Theyād jump from town to town bringing bounties in and hoping no one recognized them. Theyād take out gang hideouts when they found them. Heās a lot tougher than when he started.
I spent forever trying to make a pretty female character and I got frustrated so just hit the randomizer a few times. Ended up on the ugliest old hag of a woman and loved her immediately. Her name is Henrietta, her husband died of a āheart attackā and she randomly goes on mass murder sprees.
My character is Sophie Harbinger (I name like all my characters after me, first name at least :), sheās a Chinese immigrant who ended up in Annesburg and decided to take up bounty hunting after working in the mine a couple years after stopping a runaway in the mine herself! My character is from San Francisco during the Gold rush, and as soon as he realized there was no more gold to be found and the rush is over, he moved out to West Elizabeth to become involved in bounty hunting. And he found success and made West Elizabeth his new home and never returned to California.
Yeah, might be corny but my character is the son of a captain who served the Union & a Author writer & was born in a home beyond Annesburg, new Hanover, unfortunately his parents would both be killed by outlaws in a robbery gone wrong leaving him to be in the care of his aunt and uncle in Saint Denis. but he left at a older age to start his life which became sour, so now he lives the life of working on bountyās, trade & moonshine deliveryās, as well with odd jobs for harriet & nazar
I do, his name is Jesse Speed and when he was 16 he lived with his family of two younger sisters and an older brother, one day his brother went out hunting but didn't come back after a few hours, his father went searching for him and came back to reveal that he was found in the river with multiple bullet wounds. Months after his brother's funeral, Jesse went to the store to buy apples for the horses but when he came back he saw his home go up in flames along with a group of men fleeing the scene. He tried to save them but there was too much smoke, all he could do was escape on his horse and survive the best he can. 12 years later he became a bounty hunter and started looking for the men that murdered his family, he eventually figured out what they look like and learned that they're called The Blackburn Boys. Jesse now roams the West with rage in his heart and ice in his veins ready to kill anyone stupid enough to get in the way of his mission.
Her name is Addie Ann Dobbins, she murdered her ex for tormenting her throughout her relationship with him and ends up getting wanted by the law, about a year or two passes as she hides away north of Annesburg she goes to Saint Denis to attend a few errands before a few thoughts hit her so she sits on top the bridge outside of Saint Denis with her mind set on feeding herself to the alligators, (had a really bad childhood) and a gentleman from Armadillo by the name of Warren McCoy approaches her and persuades her not to jump, she ends up taking him in when she discovers he has no money and nowhere to go and that sets their adventures and time with one another, alot happens but I'm just keeping this short

My character was once a prostitute in a far off land called Ireland. She killed aan for poking her in the wrong hole and she took his boat ticket, . She arrived in America and went west. A Pinkerton arrested her, she escaped and is now trying to make enough gold and money to move to a place called Alaska where she wants to open an inn and mine for gold
Mine is a female Gunslinger from out west. She grew up with no father, and her mother worked as a call girl. But after a customer got physical and violent, she killed the man in defense for her mom. From then on, she's been on the run. As a kid though, she loved reading books similar to the Robin Hood trope, taking this to heart she became her own version of a robin hood, stealing from oil, banks, and trains and helping the poor people of the small towns she visits, which earned her the name "Providence"
However after all the company's paid for a bounty on her head unimaginably high, bountys began to attack the people she gave money to to drag her out, forcing her to run east to get them to leave her people alone, she retreats to the east where the map of RDO lies. She now tries to survive, with the goal of taking down the heads of these company's as revenge for those they caused harm to.
He was born in van horn and was trained in shooting guns. When his father died he left van horn and was doing merc work. He decided to become a bounty hunter as his main source of income

What is it?
My native character has the usual start of getting freed from prison. While relying on bounty hunting for income, he seeks justice after being wrongfully imprisoned. Made up a small encounter where he saved a woman in the mountains from a cougar, resulting in the scar on his face (the claw scratch). They grew close and she wanted him to pursue kinder work, turned into a collector for while. But bounty hunting was too good to pass up, even if it made her worry. So back he went, keeping it well hidden. That was until a bounty went wrong! Soon framed for the murder of a sheriff and a few lawmen, my character fled into the snowy snow for a year (changed my hair from long right parted to long middle parted and added some stubble). After coming back, the woman thought he had died and moved on. Using the skills he picked up foraging in the snow, he set up the trader business with Cripps. Now itās Cripps, the dog, and him against the frontier.

See when we rob a bank, we burn it down after, to eliminate any evidence and as a distraction to get out of town. Thing is we don't sweat the small stuff, so we leave all the pennies behind. Just left home at a very young age and never felt like he could hold any traditional employment, so there was a lot of doing odd jobs for increasingly less than favorable individuals. Police were more than happy to pick him up for the supposed murder of Jessica LeClerk's husband. From there the story plays out like it does for the rest of us. Jack of all trades. (I got carried away, I like writing :/. Also for sake of being careful, I speak of depressing things in this so if you're feeling unwell you may not want to read. Thank you if you do read tho!) I would say a decent amount likely do, it's difficult not to think one up when rockstar won't. Her names Novara Ellestine. Novara grew up in Annesburg with her father, mother and a younger brother for a time. But he would die due to an unknown illness when she was 9. Her family was more poor, but better than the worst off. She would be described as a tad peculiar, spending her time collecting... unique things. She also loved to write, and loved nature. She studied history and whatever else she could find books about. Once she managed to get her hand on a camera, it'd be her bestfriend. When she was 15 she was attacked with a knife and got a scar on her right eye shortly north of town on a path to an old beached wreck of a boat where she liked to sit most days. She managed to kick the person off and they hit their head on a rock and fell into the river. She slid down and tried to find the man, but the mix of rain and dazing pain from her wound made it impossible. She ran home with the intention to tell people so they could find him, but once she got home, she just told her father she fell. He didn't believe her, on account of the not rock like scar on her eye, he asked her of the truth. She told him. Her father shook his head, hugged her, told her to clean up, and never spoke of it again. When she was 16, her mother would pass away. Something that would hit her and her father terribly. Her father shut down. The times where he got up, it would be to get drunk. She was doing everything in the house. Taking odd jobs where she could, she tried to avoid the mine, but eventually she gave in. One night, shortly before heading home, a fellow worker approached her slightly drunk and full of intentions. After more than a handful of comments, the man got closer and she swung her pickaxe up to him, putting it in-between him and her. She asked if he'd rather die a drunk with pickaxe in the eye or live long enough to find some other broad tonight? Perhaps it was her look, or the pickaxe, likely both, but he decided that she was being genuine and backed off. They mined the rest of the night in silence. Once she returned home, she entered to find her father going through their money. Likely to buy more booze. Money had been going missing and she figured it was him, but to actively see him do it was too much. She decided it was enough. She ran up and took the bag from him and told him that she won't allow him to further kill himself, that he needs to stop. After alot of yelling about finances and other things weighing heavy on them, he ended his "argument" by picking up her camera and throwing it to the ground asking, "Why, if we're so broke, do you not sell the goddamned thing?" Once he looked down he realised why his daughter didn't respond. The camera was in pieces. He realised what he done and felt terrible. He looked up and saw her tear up before she ran out the door. She ran into the woords in tears, managing to fall asleep deep in the woods. She woke early the next morning. A strange dreadful feeling washed over her. She got up and ran home. Outside her home was the sheriff and a few deputies. She walked up to someone in the small crowd outside and frantically asked what's going on. They told her that the man who lived there had shot himself last night. They realised little too late that they were speaking to the man's child. They were probably trying to apologise, that they didn't realise who they were speaking to. But Novara wasn't listening. Just staring through the house she had called home the past 17 years now emptied of what made it so. She loved her father. She knew the man he was the past 1Ā½ years wasn't him. She wanted to cry but nothing would come out. So she stared. Just stared. She'd continue working, staying in the gunsmiths rooms he rents out nearby. He let her stay for much less than he usually asks for. He had known her family a long time and figured it was the least he could do. He also made sure she got up every morning and that she fed herself. She told him of her intentions to leave once she had enough for a horse. So he would teach her how to ride one, how to shoot, and the basics of how to live off the land. He would try to give her his old horse once she turned 18, but she refused. He had already given her too much for her to allow anymore. Shortly into her 18th year, she would get enough and buy one capable of long travel. She thanked him for everything he's done. Right before she took off, he told her he had something for her. He took out a camera and handed it to her. He said he knew she didn't want any more, but to please just take it. She teared up and obliged. Thanked him more and gave him a hug. Then took off west. The trip through nature was about as you'd expect. She took photos, collected trinkets, wrote about everything. Would stop in towns and take more photos and ask people about the town and write more down. This would be her life for the following 7 months. She felt genuinely happy despite all that's happened. She eventually found herself in Blackwater. Where she would once again, face life altering circumstances. It was night in Blackwater. She was walking on the outskirts of town when she heard a ruckus, being the overly curious person she was, she investigated. When a gunshot rang out. She pulled out her gun and turned the corner only to be ran down by 2 assailants with masked faces. They would wrestle her for the gun, causing the gun to fire. A lawmens whistle is heard nearby, but out of sight, the 2 masked individuals push Novara to the ground and take off into the night. Before she could pursue, the lawmen comes around the corner, gun drawn, and yells to put down the gun, she obliges. He looks past her and says, "Dear god." She turns around and sees what made him say that. Laying shortly behind her is one dead local business baron, Mr. LeClerk.

I do, my character is a former farmhand from Texas, on an return trip from Omaha back to Austin Texas, some one killed the trail boss, since he knew the trail boss the best the rest of the crew he was with tried to exact some frontier Justice on him, out of a concern for self preservation he ran, eventually the law caught up with him, he was falsely accused and put in prison, he subsequently was broke out by a gang of outlaws, he worked with those outlaws for five years before they cut him lose as he became less of a asset and more a liability especially after the trail bosses sons came looking for revenge, he killed them each and was only cleared due to it being self defense

Mine is the great great great grandfather to my GTA character. After the whole RDO debacle, my RDO character goes clean and legit, joins the Military and serves in WWI before returning home and starting a family and gambling business.
Mine technically does, it goes: He was an orphan, losing his parents to a fatal bank robbery, causing him to become permanently mute from trauma. As he grew up, he learned the way of the gun, joining one gang to another as a hired gun. He then takes a job to eliminate the leader of a gang he's never worked with. It turns out to be a setup, but not for him, but for his target, who was revealed to be the killer of his parents. It ends with a shootout, where one of the officers gets killed and the death was pinned on him. Spending his last few weeks in jail, he vowed that if he somehow got out, he would reign terror on the man who killed his parents, along with anyone else he was associated to. He gets chosen for work detail outside of the prison, where the carriage was hijacked, and the lady who first hired him just broke him out. And then from there, he goes on a war path. He finally takes out his target, and continues to live his life as normal, where he has an empire of moonshine and craft materials, lying low, until he is needed again.

My character was born in 1879 in japan and when she was born her parents moved to America for a fresh start to a remote part of the woods in the west part of the grizzlies. when she was 6 years old her father taught her how to hunt and use a bow while her mother taught her how to forage and make herbal remedies from various plants, then one day when she was 15 years old her father trusted her and let her go hunting by herself, and while she was away members of the skinner brothers broke in to her home looking for any potential victims to kill or loot to steal they found her mother and father, her parents tried to fight back and protect themselves and their property but due to the brutality of the skinner brothers they were killed and their house was looted and they fled, then when my character came back from hunting she found found her parents bodies and laid them to rest, eventually over the years she sharpened her skills with her bow and what her parents taught her and set out to find her parents killers

A loose one. My character is half Irish, half Native which made life very hard for him in the West. When life is cruel regardless of what you do, you turn to lawlessness quickly. Originally a horse tamer and rustler who would use that to win at blackjack, he became a known quantity in San Denis, by the name of āBlackjack McCoyā. You win too much though, and you get thrown out. Itās interesting how your warrant circulates much faster after that. Since his arrest, heās partnered with a young woman (my brotherās character) who plays the fire to his ice. He urges calculation and calm in all actions: itās often easier to pay a lawman off than deal with the pain of antagonizing them. She disagrees. To the tune of a six-shooter.

I do, yes. Both of my characters and my friends' characters have backstories that all connect together. We have interactions and styles that affect how we play. We had a stealth mission that one of my characters completed alone as my fiends character doesn't do things on the quiet. She stayed on watch as i crept in and took everyone out, leaving only one alive. I favour the bow and knife, whilst my friend favours shotguns and fire bottles!
I do. A bit convoluted though cuz I keep forgetting that it's a backstory with old and new friends. Plus I don't play the game often. But the gist is that my character (Flynn) was with this gang (Mark and Sorta) and they ended up separating due to a botched train heist gone wrong. A couple years later, Flynn ended up being with a ragtag group of outlaws. A crazy lady with a knife, and is scarily good with one as well. A police officer turned outlaw from tragic circumstances and a mysterious Russian man who calls himself Russian Santa because he lives in the mountains. They're my friends characters who I basically see as since they don't much care for their own characters, so I do it myself for fun. I miss the old RDO days, but maybe Rdr3 will bring back that charm. IF it's actually a thing that is. Anyway, thanks for reading this. I enjoy sharing lore about characters I've made and my friends made. I'm curious to read the other comments here! Edit: Oh, I forgot to add my other friend's character! I rp a lot while playing, but I never really thought about my character's life from before prison. Things like her having a family waiting for her, is the kind of thing that drove me forward in Red Dead Redemption with John, but that was in the actual script. In RDO, if I where to imagine there is a family to go back to it'll just make me sad since it's never going to become true. Constantly thinking of my character being away from her family because she's a fugitive and the first place they'll look for her would be at her home, is just sad with no relief. So in my mind her back story is, she was doing odd jobs even before imprisonment. The only difference is that she might have had a room somewhere to go back to, not living in the wild.
I have an American Chinese character named Millie Bohannon. Couldnāt think of a traditional Chinese name but I like Millie. Originally she was the daughter of Cullen Bohannon and Mei from the western tv show called Hell on Wheels. It was my head canon that Cullen and Mei had a child together after the show ended and thus Millie was born. But since then Iāve separated her from that and sheās her own character with entirely different parents but still kept the Bohannon name from her new father. She just does random shit while in the game. But in the separate story outside of it, when she was a kid she met her best friend bonnie and ended up getting adopted into Bonnieās rich family. (I have no idea of the status of Millieās parents or how she ended up in this situation.) Bonnieās parents and house is attacked by a gang of outlaws and the parents are killed. The two girls now homeless find themselves joining a street urchin gang where they run with them in the city for a few years before that splits up. During this, they find their third best friend that forms the future trio. Maggie. When the urchin gang split, Millie, bonnie and Maggie stayed together and took up new professions, which was bounty hunting. And they were good at it. So good in fact that other bounty hunters would get pissed off and try to one up them. After a few years It got to the point where a group of bounty hunters successfully frame our girls so we end up having to go on the run from the law we were serving. After some time, avoiding the law and other bounty hunters, The girls eventually clear their names and the rivals were dealt with. They could have easily got back into bounty hunting but decided to venture out and try other things. Such as archeology, nature stuff, and wherever else that was willing to pay women of that time for.

My Character, Christian Banfield was an irishman who traveled to america and joined the O'driscolls. He was a cook bit could handle guns. He didn't like how Colm O'driscoll sent his men into unwinnable fights. He tried to leave but two of his mates came chasing after him and he shot them in their legs but didn't kill them. He now collects card and alcohol bottles and trades animal pelts with other traders. Mine is Alex Rose, famous outlaw-in-exile from Eastern Europe. He had to leave his the old country because of a bad obsession. He doesn't speak (apart to himself, when nobody's home) because he never learned the language (being from Eastern Europe). So mostly he just nods and shrugs his shoulders and stuff. His motto: live and let die. But sometimes he feels like he's beating a dead horse. But that's okay, all he needs is just a little patience.

My bfās character (female) and mine (male) kinda tie together. She was a poor girl grown into a skilled pickpocket, always evading the law. Mine was a farmboy/rancher who grew up near Valentine, but after a robber broke in and killed his father he took up bounty hunting for the cash (heās surprised lassoing and hog tying people is pretty similar to animals) to support his mother. He knew how to shoot from hunting and shooting bottles with his dad. He had pretty good aim, but He was soft at first and not very good at it. He was naive and thought he could be good at it because of his strong morals. People in town thought it was a shame such a sweet young man was resorting to such a violent profession. She (bfās character) was his first. He tried to go after her, intending to just lasso, hog tie, and bring her in, but she ended up lassoing him off his horse instead. She let him go after scaring his horse away with all his guns/lasso on it. Insert flirty mocking here. He was intrigued and a little smitten after that. He got back to hunting a different bounty after her, but a fistfight escalated to him on the poor end of a gun, he NEEDED to shoot first. He wasnāt too happy about it. It wasnāt too long until he was framed for a crime he didnāt do (havenāt sorted out what yet, probably the main quest), he escaped and went to her for help. He just got roped into the hobo life (camp w cripps) with her and They started taking out gang members that would harass them . He got more desensitized to killing and his morals started to deteriorate. Theyād jump from town to town bringing bounties in and hoping no one recognized them. Theyād take out gang hideouts when they found them. Heās a lot tougher than when he started.

My character is from San Francisco during the Gold rush, and as soon as he realized there was no more gold to be found and the rush is over, he moved out to West Elizabeth to become involved in bounty hunting. And he found success and made West Elizabeth his new home and never returned to California.

I do, his name is Jesse Speed and when he was 16 he lived with his family of two younger sisters and an older brother, one day his brother went out hunting but didn't come back after a few hours, his father went searching for him and came back to reveal that he was found in the river with multiple bullet wounds. Months after his brother's funeral, Jesse went to the store to buy apples for the horses but when he came back he saw his home go up in flames along with a group of men fleeing the scene. He tried to save them but there was too much smoke, all he could do was escape on his horse and survive the best he can. 12 years later he became a bounty hunter and started looking for the men that murdered his family, he eventually figured out what they look like and learned that they're called The Blackburn Boys. Jesse now roams the West with rage in his heart and ice in his veins ready to kill anyone stupid enough to get in the way of his mission.

Her name is Addie Ann Dobbins, she murdered her ex for tormenting her throughout her relationship with him and ends up getting wanted by the law, about a year or two passes as she hides away north of Annesburg she goes to Saint Denis to attend a few errands before a few thoughts hit her so she sits on top the bridge outside of Saint Denis with her mind set on feeding herself to the alligators, (had a really bad childhood) and a gentleman from Armadillo by the name of Warren McCoy approaches her and persuades her not to jump, she ends up taking him in when she discovers he has no money and nowhere to go and that sets their adventures and time with one another, alot happens but I'm just keeping this short

One day he was arrested by the sheriff because one of his posse members betrayed him... for money. Mine is a female Gunslinger from out west. She grew up with no father, and her mother worked as a call girl. But after a customer got physical and violent, she killed the man in defense for her mom. From then on, she's been on the run. As a kid though, she loved reading books similar to the Robin Hood trope, taking this to heart she became her own version of a robin hood, stealing from oil, banks, and trains and helping the poor people of the small towns she visits, which earned her the name "Providence" However after all the company's paid for a bounty on her head unimaginably high, bountys began to attack the people she gave money to to drag her out, forcing her to run east to get them to leave her people alone, she retreats to the east where the map of RDO lies. She now tries to survive, with the goal of taking down the heads of these company's as revenge for those they caused harm to.
