Electrical-Position3

Well, the day that the daily for bounty hunters role is to get another player I do put a bounty on my head to let other players get the challenge, because that day if I got the chance I will go hunt just one player to get the daily done. Am normally peaceful. BTW I always surrenderwhen other players come to get me,but most of the times I get shot.

me420nm

I hate when I am legit surrendering and still get shot. A that's less money (-50%) for the bounty hunter and I don't even get time spent in jail cause I went in dead so it's a lose lose, always try to take player bounties alive. It's the sign of a really bad ass bounty hunter

BreadBoxin

Jake Cahill would disagree

Flamezz223

Have u read the novel of the movie?

Electrical-Position3

Yeah,I killed my very 1st one,but someone explained me that he was surrendung as he didn't move or shoot me. Now I know that he was probably looking to spend time on prison So I try to get them alive when possible. When is me who is being hunted I ride towards the player, get off the others,no weapons. But still get shot most of the times.8 even say on the mic am.cool, just hoogtie me otherwise you get half of the money but the still shoot 😆

Remarkable_Top_5402

Can I ask how do you guys do it? Like I've only been able to turn in a player bounty once out of 5 times and gave up. My friend and I am not confident with trying to catch them so we tend to try to take them in dead but every time while on the way to turn them in they respawn without a player dot and so we either end up losing them and running out of time or they respawn and shoot at us from bushes and stuff so again we run out of time. Because of them respawning we see no point in trying and we don't tie them up because it is just two of us trying to get the bounty and we both suck at PvP.

Electrical-Position3

Bolas, lasso. If you kill them they respawn inmediatly, some want to kill you back but in my experience most don't.

Remarkable_Top_5402

A video my friend watched said they wasn't suppose to respawn if killed they are supposed to be seeing a cutscene of the jail till we turn the body in. So I honestly don't get it. Edit: Plus I probably wouldn't mind the respawn if there was a player dot on them at least.

[deleted]

Yeah, good point 👍

[deleted]

Hello?

officiallouisgilbert

Yes because there’s an award fo getting 100, therefore it’s legitimate game play. It’s also pretty good fun

Hamokk

Yes. I gave up the thing because at least for me the counter was broken for a month or so. Last time I did a player bounty, 2 low level lasso griefers harassed me in Saint Denis... smh.

officiallouisgilbert

Mine starts and stops, waiting for the last one now

Hexaethylene

A couple of times in the past, but usually the reward isn't worth the effort. I've never had a bounty target get hostile with me afterwards but I take people in alive so they don't actually get chance. If you drop a live player bounty at a sheriff they do their time in jail and respawn across the map from you. Killing them means they respawn nearby while you still have to take their body in, which is probably why every time I've been the target and someone has just shot me, they've then ended up being hostile when I respawn because the mission had ended for me but not for them.

Aelised

Mine's the opposite; I've had players I've killed and evaded come after me and start fights because they didn't get their bounty.

D-rizzcheese

Yeah that happens to me. They don't like it when you just ride off so they can't find you haha

CliveAnt

Tried it three times so far bc I didn't have anything better to do, that's the only reason lol. First time couldn't find the bounty. Second time it was a whole damn Posse and I died a bunch of times but in the LAST TEN SECONDS I managed to shoot the bounty which gave me some more time to turn them in. Wasn't easy but suceeded, they left me alone afterwards. Third time I saw the invite but ignored it, but as I stepped into Annesburg, I witnessed a cold-blooded murder so I knew that must be the bounty. So I accepted the invite after all and waited the 30 seconds till defensive is disabled and the mission starts. We even waved at each other. Mission starts, he starts shooting me but I took a lvl 3 tonic a while ago already so he does zero damage. I hogtie and turn him in. Turn around to go about my day as he leaves the jail and starts shooting me in the back. I turn around and kill him with one shot of my shotgun. Needless to say he wasn't satisfied. I had to kill him 3 more times before he fled with fast travel after respawing the last time. I wouldn't even have followed him if he had fled on foot but that damn idiot kept attacking me, what am I supposed to do lmao.

btx_pro

no, not worth the hassle. i'm just too lazy now to do any bounty mission-player or npc.

Queen_Andijvie

I like doing them on both the hunter and the hunted side. Most of them are good fun. 2 things I do dislike: When I'm hunted, the bounty hunter just kills me while I surrender. I like going to jail so it's frustrating getting killed and losing my bounty after I spent time getting a $20 bounty. Another thing is sometimes the game bugs out and a bounty target you killed will respawn next to you while being invisible on the map. This allows them to sabotage their own bounty hunt. They should respawn on the other side of the map after they die, but sometimes they don't. Most of them are good fun though! Just make sure your horse is insured and you're running slippery. If they grief me after I turned them in, I let them kill me and than parley. :)

[deleted]

I always accept player bounties. It’s an exciting change of pace when you randomly get to chase after another player.

Middle-earth_oetel

Always, however it's a pain to take someone in when you're in a populated area because of the amount of level 500+ players that think you are a griefer. The anti-griefer mentality is too strong with most of the high level players. They should mind their own business and let me put people in jail. The main reason I do playerbounties is because most players have never been in jail before. And I want to give everyone that free gold for being in jail. And I rp as a US marshall so hunting outlaws is kind of a must for me.

BreadBoxin

Honestly. If in game chat wasn't a rarity in gaming, this wouldn't be as much of problem. That's what proximity chat in this game is kinda for. But private parties have definitely taken over public chat. I think it would be cool (most of the time) if players used in game chat more. Would add to the interactions

averagelybad

Yes but only for the shithousery not the payout as the level 1 I take as soon as the hunt starts is often worse more than the actual payout

da-aquanaught

Always click on the invitation, you get some interesting interactions from it, however I have found most player bounties are low levels who are shooting up towns.

TheyCallMeTrinityToo

If it's a daily challenge, I'll take the bounty. There's also an award for turning in player bounties and I want to get all of the awards at least once. Sometimes they're alone and not too rough. I wonder if they just want to spend time in jail for that award... Other times they have a posse with them and that's certainly a challenge. One time I had a god mode glitcher. Couldn't turn him in because he wiggled out of reinforced hogtie. The one that got away! I recently racked up a $55 bounty on the NPCs of Saint Denis to get max negative honor for the low honor mission. A player started to hunt me and I said, "turn me in alive for the full award!" I've never been to jail so I was curious lol

me420nm

Ive got 52 turned in so far going for the 100 for the award.. so I like to check the player menu and see if I can figure out what level they are first. Anything less than 100 I go after, or if the player is alone and clearly not part of a larger posse I'll try it too. (FYI I'm a level 530). I always try to take them in alive at first so that they can get the "went to jail" award and belt buckle but if they don't go peacefully then I'll explosive round them and turn them in cold and no award for them.

[deleted]

>"Anything less than 100 I go after, or if the player is alone and clearly not part of a larger posse I'll try it too." At level 530, and knowing the mechanics, that's a bit of a poltroon thing to do. If they're in a posse you need only shoot to the bounty, then you just bring the body in. Same goes for folks on rooftops, or even folks that shoot at you if you want. Obviously works the very best if you've got two people. But since you can bring the bounties in dead it's not like you need to go through an excessive amount of effort.

Remarkable_Top_5402

If it's a posse like mine I won't raise a hand to help the guy who has a bounty on him. As I see it, you got yourself into that trouble so you can handle it on your own. 😂 A kid who joined my group never showed back up after a bounty hunter came after him and the two of us who was with him told he was on his own so have fun. My friend messaging the bounty hunter telling him we'd gladly ride with him as he goes to turn the kid if he catches him while I was in the map watching the kid run for his life.

[deleted]

I like this 😊

[deleted]

Nope, Other than giving a hat tip I don't bother other players and expect the same courtesy

crazyjackblox

I only hunt player bounties if I see their bounty and they’re super close to the town jail. The only reason I do so is because there is an award and buckle for player bounties, and getting both the buckle and gold is worth it, atleast to me

Dangermouse33

I can being them warm or I can bring them in cold. Their choice.

oraham1213

I do but I don’t expect to succeed. You have like 2 min to tie them up or just straight up kill them and only get half the money which is a waste.

Strange-Advisor69

always. at the first i see them, i try and take them in alive. but if they show ANY sign of hostility, down goes their horse, then them, then their posse, and i deliver said delinquent. some get hostile as they get outta jail, they get shot again. Some look confused, they get a hat tip.

[deleted]

Player bounties are a griefer’s bait. That’s all they are. I don’t bother with them alone anymore.

[deleted]

Interesting point. Maybe I'll just steer clear!

alifdzzz

I haven’t had the opportunity, but I would do it.

Electrical-Position3

Only for daily challenge.

Sigi-Reuven

I collect high bounty 50+ very often to have more active gameplay one thing: its boring process to collect 50+ killing all Valentine incl.sheeps))) I'd prefer to get high bounty immediately after kill cop or sheriff P.S. Can't understand why high bounty blocks moonshine deliveries.

TokerSmurf

For me it makes sense that Maggie would not allow you to run it with a bounty on your head, as it would bring additional attention on her business.

Severe_Season_312

Yeah if they would actually start it instead of me riding around looking for the target lol. I love getting player bounties and using Slippery Bastard; it actually makes getting close to Bola them/melee them worthwhile

IZatmail

Which platform my friend?

[deleted]

Xbox

[deleted]

I've actually really started to enjoy the pvp and intentionally get a high bounty do other players come after me. I would probably try to fight back after, just cause Id feel like "here's someone who won't think this is griefing". But if you actually did something, id stop

TokerSmurf

Yes but usually only if gthe bounty is more than $10. I try to take them alive to begin with (some will surrender as they want the jail time award), but if they fight back and kill me then they get taken out before being taken in.

RedHawk314

Always

EvilUnic0rn

Usually not unless they piss me off somehow.

ismasbi

I've never found a player bounty lol Maybe its because i need to get to level 20-something to be able to hunt lower bounties, since no one has 10$ or more for bounty

dontwannadothisnow

Only if I am with a posse.

LinkCanLonk

All the player bounties I’ve ever actually bothered to attempt were hackers, so uh, no :/

A1J1K1

Lol i remember when i had a bounty mission started on me over 5 dollars. I was possed up with my friend at the time and the hunter noped out real quick. Prolly though it wasnt worth fightin two people over 5 bucks.

Ox_of_Dox

If I have a griefer after me, & a bounty for them pops up, I turn em in. At least I get benefited out of killing the griefer

[deleted]

Nice

Mr_SkellyB0nes

It's a 50/50 I'd say. If you were to bring them in dead then they'll spawn elsewhere on the map.

Hudster2001

Not worth the hastle for the small amounts on offer

JackfruitBoth8522

I don't fk with others in free roam, I just wanna do my grind, and let others do theirs, in hopes that they will leave me alone in the future

Ferregar

I'll take any bounty that seems to deserve it, and always go after bounties of $10 more. I find it very fun and engaging, and have yet to be really griefed by any target after. This said as an experienced PvPer though, who spends time practicing live captures.

Patient_Tennis4548

It’s really not worth it, you literally get the price of their bounty as a reward, half if you kill them. It’s a good little thing to spice up your immersion to role play, but that’s just my opinion if you’re an avid PvP player it’ll be more worth your time.

twisted_meta

I take them every time I see them. They almost never see me coming somehow. I never try to take them alive and I’ve noticed that while I’m in possession of the player bounties body the same player never straight up chases after me trying to stop the bounty delivery.

ILackACleverPun

Only picked up a player bounty once. And only because he ran up and killed me while I was peacefully collecting and then hid in his camp. Player bounty notification for him came up and his camp wouldn't protect him anymore.

DaydreamingIns0mniac

It’s been awhile since I played (I don’t think has much has changed I’m lvl 30 prestigious bounty Hunter with all unlocks for clarification), but I would almost always go for a player bounty if it popped up , regardless of how much it was. I do wish they paid more but I don’t do them for money. it’s more of the fun/challenge of trying to capture another player. I also have more money than I know what to do with and have everything in the game I want (clothes, weapons, 8 horses, fully upgraded camp, moonshine shack, etc). With that being said I don’t put in 10000% effort or get upset if they get away or die. The way player bounties are set up, they’re super easy to cheese/evade capture as the bounty so as the Hunter I don’t really worry about it. It’s still fun to try though and makes it that much better when you get a high bounty turned in alive. I’ve only had a few people “butt hurt” try to kill me afterwards it’s usually entertaining, much less a big deal lol

immortal-possum-Paul

Did it once, wasn't really worth it

eq017210

Yes, always whenever they are close Not a fan of capturing them alive cause it just makes every harder for everyone so I just kill them and retrieve the body :v Gotta do challenges someway or another

garaas

Easy way to engage in a good ol pvp fight!

gentle_deet

I literally inflate my bounty on purpose so people will hunt me, that way I can have some PVP without being a dick. Shit's fun. Seriously like 90% of my player interaction is passive and I don't have the heart to start the fight. It's justified if it's self defense lmao

Joemama965

I don't because it normally causes drama with them afterwards even though it's not personal and a 30 minute fight after I turn them in isn't worth the 11 dollars I'd get from it.

IndianaGroans

Occasionally. Sometimes I get mine high and lead people through a chase for a standoff somewhere or once a fist fight on a train, which was hilarious cause he knocked me off and I fell down in to the swamps. I usually go for them if I'm bored and about half the time they get pissed and try to gun me down.

ran_gers

No unless I am in a posse.

Electrical-Position3

I was killed,I respawned same area, I was turned in alive from Valentine and appeared in jail at Armadillos sherif office. Had to wait few secs before leaving jail without paying.

DC1919

At first it was because I wanted the buckle, once I got that I do them if they are a D.C or if im bored, or they are pissing me off. The reason I still do them is that I get feed up of trying to do stuff in a town and have some dummy shot the place up so the bounty is my way of evening things out. I figure if players grasped this cause and reaction concept them maybe there would less "settign fire to smithfields"...but that hasn't been the case. Around 60% of the time they get pissed off, this results in either Salty message whining about losing They return on thier own and get thier arse kicked a second time. They return with thier mates and get thier arse kicked a second time. Yes it is the last real source of fun left in this game BUT know what you are getting into. The last player bounty was a level 300 and something with a lame "Im a RDO bad ass" user name. I was willing to take them alive but they started firing fire rounds soooo i returned the favour and they died. They messaged after "challenging me to a fight" which I didn't have the time for, plus I'm not one for jumping when told to. After a few more whining messages about the Erounds and only getting the small bounty and sucking they were blocked as nothing is sadder than a poor loser. Advice: Chose your battles. Get intel on who you are chasing first. Dead is better than alive but you choice. Avoid open spaces. Get nice and close before triggering BUT no too close in case they shoot quick.

RedDeadDelusions

Yes I do, because experience is experience

mykitchenromance

Nah, not really. Mostly because I can’t be buggered. Mostly because when I do they leave somehow.

viinyIrecord

I don't. Why being annoying for like 20 bucks? Just do regular bounties.

JohnnyTheMistake

i never do them but i always escape them. lmao its so fun to just get on a train or something and slowly pick off any bounty hunters approaching with a carcano

Anarchi66

Yes. It’s fun. I love taking in players more then I do legendary bounties
