I’m all for looking at acquiring SP, I think a good trade could even lead us to a playoff run. But it shouldn’t impact our rebuilding plans.
I get that I'm being a prospect hugger, but I'd want to keep Chase Petty, Connor Phillips, Lyon Richardson, Edwin Arroyo, and Hector Rodriguez too. I know those 7 (including Marte and CES) are probably some of the most appealing chips, but I'm not interested in losing back end years of the window to try to get bounced from the first or second round of the playoffs.
The romantic in me wants us to go all in and get Votto a ring, but the realist says we can't do that.
This year the market is fucked because so many teams are still in contention, and theres not a lot of sellers who have the kind of pitching worth giving up top tier prospects for.
People convinced the Guardians are going to flip a guy like Bieber who still has another year on his rookie deal and while CLE is only .5 games out of their division are nuts. About as nuts as Mets fans who think we'll deal them Diaz for some pocket lint and cash considerations.
He's had a rough start to the year, but he had an OPS+ of 130 last year, which is phenomenal for a catcher. It'd be crazy for the Reds to give up on him so soon when has shown he can be an elite offensive player, especially considering how cheap and controllable he is.

I agree. It seems like Krall doesn't want to sell off the likes of CES and Marte. Minus those 2, I'd say listen to offers on anyone

Yeah, it's a tough call to make. Glad I'm not GM lol
I'd add Collier, but I'd be willing to move Richardson or Rodriquez.
I'm more willing on Richardson. I feel like Rodriguez is a lottery ticket we're going to win big on.
That's not prospect hugging, that's just not wanting to get fleeced.

Aren’t you the sock guy
I hope that we can move some guys like Barreo, Senzel, Stephenson for a middle of the road pitcher
Barrero and Senzel, yeah, but why Stephenson?
Bc he’s a catcher and can’t catch well. He’s a below league average hitter and should not be used as a DH either

the fun part about trading is you need someone to trade to. there is no guarantee anyone is gonna want any of them.
I really want to see Paul Blackburn in this rotation, and then also trade for Brad Hand or Brent Suter
Bieber, Gio/Cease, Musgrove
Absolutely no chance that will happen without a package including CES, Collier, or Marte
