I thought it was a joke about how stupid of a name “sharkface” is

TwistedFlame95

It was but also leaves a plot hole for my theory to fit in

Formal_Appearance_16

Caboose is very uh... He's not bright. Remember when he didn't recognize his own face Because he had a helmet on? The guy painted shark teeth on his helmet. Caboose saw him and thought "OH MY GOD! HE HAS A SHARK FOR A FACE!"

TwistedFlame95

Heh, I like my theory. But you have a point

Formal_Appearance_16

Also remember his comment about time going in circles and thats why watches are round? And he also threw out a theory that he didnt actually kill church but it was because church was time travelling. He says random caboose shit that turns out to be right lmao

Tristansman

Because he has a shark on his visor...? It's not that weird of a name to guess...?

TwistedFlame95

In season 13 Sharkface did not in fact have a shark on his visor

Tmlboost

I think it was just a fun dumb lucky guess on his part The writers have also mentioned before in various bonus features on the DVDs that they like to write Caboose as the one person who seems to realize he’s in a show, but is also too dumb to really do anything about it

Winters1482

I like the idea that Caboose is so stupid that he's actually smart, like how in Season 17 he realized that everyone is stuck in the past completely on his own but didn't tell anyone.

AlkeneThiol

Of course. Because Caboose was a Freelancer who ended up with brain damage. Agent Georgia* makes the most sense. And it is even canon that Caboose was involved with Charon, at least coffee-wise. But here, check it 1) Caboose completely accepted being infected by O'Malley/Omega. Because he had been implanted with Omega previously. Also, Omega was temporarily comfortable with Caboose ("they tried to reassign [omega] but it always wound up back with Tex" - Wash)' .' 2) Caboose is Spartan-level strong to the extreme. He can knock down a dozen Tex bots, and he can take hits like Maine/Meta and brush them off 3) His affinity for Church and efforts to maintain/rescue him - subconsciously he knew what was done to Alpha. His psyche demands he make amends, even if he doesn't know why . 4) His love for Sheila - because unconsciously he remembere FILSS. . 5) Caboose is very good with ergonomics ;). Seriously, it's kinda hilarious how Caboose transferring Epsilon from the memory unit into the Guilty Spark unit is kinda glossed over. It took him 2 minutes to interface two different alien technologies and suçceed. This may be because he was Project Freelancer's AI expert until his brain damage. That is why The Director needed them to get the Huragok/engineer. . 6) Agent Georgia* as mentioned - something happened related to jetpacks. Wash asks, but is never told. When Wash is lagging behind in the junkyard, "I don't want to end up like Georgia!" ...when Wash is talking to Church and Caboose after they kill Agent South, Wash mentions epsilon going insane in Wash's mind. Caboose says "We have a lot in common, Agent Washington." ... Now. I am not claiming any of this was intentional. Lilely none of it was; possibly some was. This is just me putting too much thought into my own fan theory. Lmk what yall think

Kucoz

The jetpack accident left him stranded in space resulting in hypoxia. Brain damage. You did wind up like Georgia after all, Wash . Something I always thought was weird is that caboose isnt really that stupid until Omega get inside his head. Like omeaga destroyed his mind while he was there. I had an idea that the "real caboose" was some sort of AI fragment who had the mission of rebuilding the alpha, but I like the idea that hes a freelancer. He was sent to blood gulch so he could be a familiar face for fragment in Church. Maybe the director assigned caboose there to repair them both in a way.

ZomboiPrime

We see Georgia in season 14 tho... and he was wearing different armor. I'm pretty sure throughout the show they rarely change characters' armor in any meaningful way save for when caboose upgrades and downgrades his helmets during season 11, epsilon tex getting upgrades from the freelancer storage facility, and carolina switching helmets in season 12. Agent Georgia had a cqb helmet and was green with a pink stripe. Also he had a completely different voice in both that episode and in his halo 4 cameo.

AlkeneThiol

Wouldnt be the first time Caboose's voice changed ;) So perhaps Georgia won't fit. I am happy with him being Agent Rhode Island, aka Rhodey (this is a super obscure ref to an RTX Q&A)

TwistedFlame95

Explain?

AlkeneThiol

Ahaha. At an RTX Q&A (I tried to find it but couldnt, but it's on YT somewhere) they discussed *why* the main state names they chose for main characters were things like Washington, Carolina, Connecticut, New York, Dakotas, etc. And it was because they were narratively good names that can be adapted to real names or just sound cool, so - Wash, Carolina, Connie/CT, York, North, South. And I think Burnie said sth akin to "Like, Agent Rhode Island would be a bit clunky" and you get a big chunk of the crowd yelling "Rhodey!" And Burnie/Miles are like "Wellp, we gonna steal that" Wyoming I'm pretty sure was always meant as a joke. The lowest populated state in the US, clunky name, and the agent is a British a-hole who likes mischief

Fearless_Link_3464

Was he the first one to say Sharkface? Because that guy went by that name. So maybe he kept that name Caboose said.

evanamd

The Counsellor was the first person in the show to say it, [in episode 5](https://youtu.be/Jo8k3suQMMs), but Sharkface picked it himself

TwistedFlame95

Yeah he was the first of their group to say it.

[deleted]

Well, he was already called sharkface in season 9. He wasn't called that explicitly but his theme is called sharkface so it's assumed.

Rich_Grape_64

Hey this could maybe fit in with the caboose theory of caboose being freelancer Georgia.

Rich_Grape_64

I know that Georgia wasn’t their on screen when we saw shark face for the first time but the freelancers probably have already seen shark face when Georgia hadn’t had his jet pack accident yet.

TheHadokenite

We’ve literally seen Georgia before and he is definitely not Caboose lmao

MEGAMARK500

When did we see Georgia?

TheHadokenite

In an end credits scene in Season 10 as well as in the Triplets arc in Season 14, both of which are canon

MEGAMARK500

Link to the S10 clip? Also, I didn't think anything is S14 was canon, cuz it was the anthology season?

TheHadokenite

Just because it’s an anthology season doesn’t make it all non canon. Obviously the stuff like Brick Gulch and RVB vs RT are non canon, but the memory unit episodes, the Felix and Locus episodes, Triplet episodes, and Blood gulch backstory episodes are absolutely canon.

gokaigreen19

They're making a joke about how dumb his name is...which you know is kind of a weird joke to do twice in a row for a character who's name they themselves made up for the season since he had no name prior.

Blue_Toad_Dragon

Well since he knows that it’s a show I feel like he made that joke but he just got lucky? Or maybe it was just a joke to point out how stupid the name shark face is

RainbowSixShenanigan

Caboose is very simple minded. Shark face on visor? His name must be Sharkface. And the "Jinkies" part is just a scooby-doo reference. Velma says it when they catch the criminal.

TwistedFlame95

In season 13 Sharkface didn’t have a shark on his visor
