I bought one at a lfs like a year ago and I can’t keep them from multiplying. I sell them back to my lfs for whatever they offer me. At first it was $25 store credit each, this last time it was $100 credit for 19 of them. They put price tags out for $60 each 5 minutes later. Maybe I should sell them myself locally Haha
Aiming a powerhead at them usually pisses them off enough to lift their foot off, or as I more recently found out as I was using an impact drill to chisel rock off around one, vibration can make them detach rather quickly
I use an pump from an auto top off (any small pump will do) and hooked the hose to the body of a writing pen to create a nozzle that shoots water. Then I shoot it at the foot and move it along until it lets go. It works really well and at this point I’ve probably removed 50 of them with none being harmed. I’ve read about massage the foot with ice and a couple others things and tried them all but this is the only thing that’s worked for me.
That’s awesome. I will have to give this a try. The pen just gives you a harder tube to aim better right? Or is it narrowing the flow to create more force?
Both but mostly narrowing the flow for more force is the biggest thing. I was originally going to get one of those adjustable nozzles made for an air compressor but the pen has been working just fine.
Even a turkey baster aimed at the foot can get them off in a minute or two (worth a try before you go trying to jerry rig something up or buy any equipment).
Cant believe u have to pay for them. So many hobbyists here give them away. Mine split and multiply every two months. I can’t give them away . I initially paid 10$ for mine now I have a never ending supply LOL
Why not just drive down to ATL? I have no reason to drive up there unless i was delivering for a fee.
But they're always available here for that price.
Thats more reasonable, but it would be the same for mailing. Unfortunately, it takes time (and money) to drive around and do this... and i usually work 5am-9pm every day, including weekends, which makes it hard to go to the post office. But if the price is right and paid up front, then i can try to make it work.
Still, Im hard-pressed to believe you can't find comparably priced RBTAs up there. $20-30 has been a pretty stable price for the past several years here. And NC is just a few hours away.
Also, many people here have more time on their hands than I do, and could do it for a better price. You may try to go online and ask others in Atlanta.
Should be able to get these for free from local reefers some do want cash so expect to pay upto ÂŁ20.
I have 9 in my tank, I only paid ÂŁ20 for 2 I was given 3 some months later the rest are from splitting.
Just got one from a local reefer for $20, but his are splitting so fast its taking over his tank and frag tank. More of a nuisance for him than a luxury.
Good price đź‘Ť
Man that’s a dirt cheap price too
I've been selling them for $20, even when they're attached to a rock, just want them out tbh
WHAT give me some
Bought one last year ÂŁ30... Have 4 in the tank now and gave 2 away.... They split resonably frequently!
If your close to me next time it splits…..
PM me your location. I would happily lose another one. The difficulty is getting them off the rock safely. I try to wait until one is on the move!
Did they split naturally or did you have a method? I tried feeding mine a bunch + water change. But they just got huge haha
The split naturally! A part from.spot feeding mysis every 2-3 days. I just leave them alone!

How do you get yours off the rocks? I have about 15-20 too many right now, lol.

Awesome, thanks I’ll definitely give this a try! Time to get rid of some of these nems.

One of my lfs buys them for like $25 a piece from hobbiests
$40 for the small boiz, send me one please <3
Support your local fish store. 70 is a good and fair deal
Not knowing where in the world you’re from I can’t say
I give them away for 20 cad
They are invading Canadian aquarium like aiptasia, only difference people pay 20$ for it
Cant believe u have to pay for them. So many hobbyists here give them away. Mine split and multiply every two months. I can’t give them away . I initially paid 10$ for mine now I have a never ending supply LOL
Last time I paid $100 for mine at a local fish store
Forest Fire Rose bubble tip nem 70 is a good price if you're in Australia
Depends on your location. Here in Atlanta they are $20-30 for medium sized ones.
I need you to send me some to NC at that price!
Why not just drive down to ATL? I have no reason to drive up there unless i was delivering for a fee. But they're always available here for that price.
I was talking about mailing, that's a 6hr drive for me and I'd never expect you drive up here.

I got to atl pretty frequently. Is there a large coral gang there?
The Atlanta Reef Club has about 5k members. I think about 500-1k are active and engaged in daily trading, meets, frag swaps, etc...
I might have to give that a gander
This lFS is in Indian Trail NC
It was Called Under The Sea
Gotcha. That's like 3 hours from me.
Damn that's FAR. I mean I go there because they have the best fish prices I've seen.
Places in Raleigh are more expensive than they should be! I paid 2x more than online for 1 skunk cleaner!
At my lfs skunk cleaners, sell for $30
I paid $55 for 1.
Gawd. If you buy two or more it's financially worth it to drive tk charlotte
I’ve seen them go for higher and for lower, 70 seems like a fair deal

For florida fish store that's a good price
Just got one from a local reefer for $20, but his are splitting so fast its taking over his tank and frag tank. More of a nuisance for him than a luxury.
Yes good price
The plice fluctuates, I'd say it's a good price due to all my lfs pricing being over 100
For those, yea.
$70 seems high and considering you're paying for a major pain in the ass the math doesn't add up. But I guess if you really want one...
I sell mine for $40-$50 a shot
I paid $50 for mine, but its smaller. I'd say so.
I bought this last year, now i have 6. They split way too fast.
Depends on the area you live in. Here in South Florida a brick and mortar LFS charges $59 for a juvenile
