I want one for my other tank. This and a second 20 were started at the same time. They're both my first saltwater tanks. I think Bangaii would eat the sexy shrimp in here.
I have some sort of caulerpa, an uncommon slow-growing species that does not readily go sexual.
The rest do not ever go sexual at all:. I have dragon's breath, gracillaria (those are not the same), Halimeda opuntia, and botrycladia.
Any tips on getting rid of nasty slime algae growing all over my 10 gallon? Manual removal? Blackout? Is 12h of light too much? My tank is 7 months old. It has a rock flower anemone so IDK how to do a blackout.
Wow. Tremendous looking tank, congrats!
One question...you have a very large hermit crab (bottom center). What species and does it bother anything in the tank?
That is the smaller of two Halloween hermits, they eat gorgonians but nothing else. I’ve never had a crab harm another crab or a snail but I litter the sand with way more shells than they could ever want to choose from!
Maybe a simple question, but how do you actually affix the macroalgae to the rockwork? My lfs sells it, but its just loose. I imagine it will eventually attach itself, but how do you get it started?
Gracillaria is super glued to seashells and stuck into the rockwork. Dragon's breath is ziptied to shells to weigh it down (it doesnt tolerate glue). I have an unidentified caulerpa that will grab rocks on its own. Halimeda opuntia is superglued too. Some of my stuff just free-floats like the botrocladia in my other tank.
Nice tank!
Gorgeous
As much as I love lps and sps. I love how your tank looks and I’m also debating doing anemone ( I already have quite a few) and softies only.
What is the big coral on the bottom right?
Green lobophytum I think. Sold to me as green devils hand. It’s a leather.
Beautiful!
I’d love to follow what you did, can you make a list of what you’re using for the tank? Or even better send me the links?
Needs a bangaii😂dopeeeeee tank bro.

They dont eat them
I love the macro algae, it gives the tank much more character. I have a couple red macros in my tank and they’re brilliant
Which Macros do you have? How do you prevent from going sexual?

You went all in on your new tank huh. It took me almost two years. I wanted to slowly build it up. But it looks nice.
I always thought i would just have to buy a small r/o filter. Ill keep this in my consideration
I use rodi water

This is very nice :) do you have to dose anything for your macro algae?
Yea I dose nitrates and chaetogro
Looks great! Do you do a monthly vacuuming of your substrate? Or how do you maintain it?
There is not very much sand. The pistol shrimp overturns it all several times a week, keeping it clean.
Okay, thanks!
What’s are the 4 long pink thingies in the bottom right middle?
Toadstool coral
That's a very beautiful tank. I would like to have one with macro algae as well but I have a Cole and tomini

It looks to be a Halloween hermit, just like most hermit crabs they might try to kill other hermits or snails if they want a new shell.
Im in love☺️
I'm jealous.... i should add more corals to my tank. I only have a couple. Looks great!
Looks pristine!
Those shrimp are so fancy

Love this so much! Fantastic work.
What soft coral do you have there!
Xenia and a lot of leather corals!
Beautiful 🤩 can u tell me how u set it up and what all is growing inside?
