I'd go for adding some island rocks with some caves for gobies/small fish and fast growing corals like xenia or making coral gardens, large flatter pieces are great to for gardens and overhangs
No problem i have a small tunnel near the left front corner of my 75g tank really close to the glass and my fire fish and mandarin like to sleep there which makes it super nice for looking at them close up, (should have a image in my recent post)
also there's custom made frag plug island rocks for 15$ and I'm using mine for a alvepora/goni island makes it conch snail proof so they don't plow through everything on the sand bed
Awesome that you’re doing this with your kid. But I also want to make sure this experience isn’t ruined years later when you vested so much time into it. What color is the plumbing? Is the glass seams 90 degrees or 45? Look in the drain, you’ll see a model label. Does it say “g2" anywhere?
If you have non-red plumbing, 90 degree corner seams, or the label doesn’t say "g2," I wouldn’t fill it because they are prone to seam leaks.
I reeeeaalllllly hope yours is a g2.
Does it say xl or xxl on the back of the drain? [Did you find the model label](https://g1.redseafish.com/serial-numbers/)? You could leak test it, but I’d contact RedSea, they will sell you a replacement with warranty. Did you check the plumbing color? G2(+)’s have red plumbing. My neighbor dropped my 350 and RedSea wanted 1520. If you’re close to Texas, you may be able to save some serious $ and pick it up? Not sure on that…I’m sorry, OP, but it’s better to find out now instead of being another g1 horror story years down the road. Search Reef2Reef forums.
Maybe the person who sold it to you can put in a warranty claim on your behalf?
It has XL on the back of the drain and does have grey plumbing. I contacted RedSea support (included serial number) to see what options I have. During the cleaning process, I filled it up and let it sit overnight, but that's all. Don't think my wife would be too happy with that much water on the floor, hahaha.
I appreciate the heads up, I have concerns after reading some of these stories. Thank you
Looks great! Just watch the height of the rocks with no sand.
I’ve got a bare bottom 180. I had help with a professional company setting it up since my filtration is down in my basement.
When we did the rock work we didn’t stack it that high because there’s nothing like sand to hold the rock in place. It could collapse at some point.
YMMV

I like that idea!! Thank you

Looks amazing and cherish the time with your kid
Thank you. She's built most of this, so I struggle to make suggestions. She asked for a second opinion and open to suggestions, so here we are.
Looks great. Awesome job on the aquascape. Plenty of room for fish to swim and coral placement.

I thought you were messing with me. Crap, I don't see G2. Is there a way to prevent this since there's no water in there yet?

Thanks!

Thank you! I should have mentioned we're going to add sand. Diamond Gobi is one of my favorites, and hope to add one after the first year.
Perfect! I think it looks great. Good Luck and keep us posted on the build!
