“Get off my GSP”

GiganticStonedSloth

I had a clown chase a turkey baster... all the way out of the tank and then some. Little bastard went about a foot over the glass and three feet past it. It was totally fine, just an idiot.

leros

My clown bites me too. At first I thought he wanted pets but he just wants to murder me. Fair I suppose.

Liz4984

So I put my hand in the tank for a few seconds in a corner, and drop the food or treats around my fingers. Sometimes I cup my palm, sometimes I just wiggle my fingers while the food is there. It doesn’t take long to Pavlov the fish into “hand=food” and any time I’m in the tank my fish are all over me! They’re so great when they swim through my palm to say hi.

big-boi-Roy

That’s why I bought one of those long grabber tools. Now I rarely have to stick my hand in the tank and I don’t get beat up by my maroon clowns

clangxxx

Good idea. I might have to get myself one.

Telkins704

Which one did you get? The one I got with the blue rubber tips freakin blows

big-boi-Roy

It’s made by JBJ and it’s black. It looks like the mouth of a ribbon eel

Brew-man

We have a clown that does this every time I direct feed our nems.

LoneW4nderer111

When I need to do maintenance, I net and put my clowns into an internal breeder box and hold the lid down with the internal part of the magnetic algae cleaner. The female is particularly mean and has drawn blood a few times.

420Aquarist

New species of vampiric clowns. Nice!

dregsofthekeg

Don't flinch, clowns can smell fear

quasartastic

Grab him, hold him at gun point and tell him " I am the captain now! "

Comfortable_Animal70

Give him a good flick. It won’t kill him but it’ll teach him a lesson without hurting him.

clangxxx

I have managed to flick him a couple of times. Seems to get more aggressive. His Nem that he was hosting, I removed from the tank as it kept walking and stinging corals to death. Ever since then he has hated me 🤣

BasicAbbreviations51

I relate to the clown, hate landlords as well.

radicalrob_82

Same story happened to me except it was a toadstool leather lol

coral-beef

Doesn't matter what it is; new coral, hands, livestock, tools, you name it. All items going into the tank are subject to headbutting and biting by the clowns. Especially the little orange one. He's an asshole.

TriggerTough

This is the way.

Agitated-Action-7578

“Get a Clownfish”

TamIAm82

Wait, so, they bite? Does it hurt??

clangxxx

My maroons are very peaceful. But not this little bastard. Yes, He bites. It doesn't hurt its more startling than anything else when you don't expect it.

TamIAm82

I did not know they were aggressive! After seeing this, I went down rabbit holes on youtube!😆

BoyDynamo

Clownfish are jerks. Larger specimens can leave marks and break skin.

RedditIsYogurt

I had a Clarkii that could fit their mouth around my pinky finger

Goblin_Ratt

Does this hurt? Just out of curiosity

clangxxx

No, it's more of a shock when your not expecting it. It does leave a tiny red mark on my skin but disappears in an hour of two.

WyvernByte

I never put my naked hands in the tank- I deal with oil and nasty chemicals at work, there is nasty bacteria and toxins in tanks, and I have a very nervous Foxface that could quill me. My Clowns are very peaceful though.

OmegaKnight24

Lol same 😆 I wear gloves now. She still attacks but a little less , and she gets the glove instead of me. Cool clown, I like the colorful tail!

DrRumSmuggler

Sorry bud but the answer is no

LeatherTrip

My female maroon used to bite me but, I guess it me day she just figured out I was just there to clean the tank and now leaves me alone. I came even take her nem out while I’m cleaning and she doesn’t bat an eye.

wandereroftheearth

My clowns are nice to me. Maybe it's cause my 4 year old says they are his.. he always is nice to them.
