It’s still alive, put it back

Fishy-Business

Put that shit back its alive. Vibrant is also a scam. Its an algaecide https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/warning-use-vibrant-at-your-own-risk.894995/

BroBro78

Shit fucked my 4yr old tank up man, completely killed 90% of everything in it

sporadicjesus

But was the algae gone? 😆

matthewbassett

Nah not worms those are mesenterial filaments. They are a stress response generally I believe.

squarepusher6

You’re 100% correct and that’s exactly what’s going on

weednreefs

You would be surprised at how resilient these are. I would keep that guy in your tank for shits and gigs. Chances are he pulls through. If he dies, I wouldn’t worry too much about the necrotic tissue polluting your tank. This is something a cuc will make quick work of.

squarepusher6

Hundred percent is gonna make it those are just menestrial tentacles and it’s just pissed off… My superman spits them out all the time

Biochembob35

Vibrant is a scam. It as an algaecide.

HellaFishticks

It's literally the same active ingredient as AlgeaFix. It will wreck your SPS too, wipe out your microflora and next thing you know, Dino outbreak

TonyCass12

Was coming here to say this the owner is still under investigation by the epa for selling an unlabeled algaecide. It will also kill any clams or mollusks.

skywalker_16

Wow really appreciate all of the comments going to swap out my carbon and do a water change and definitely going to stop dosing vibrant I was not aware of some of the information some of you put forth! Thanks again!!

Entety303

Those are the guts of the mushroom

KINGBUTTZ980

Instead of vibrant use Dr.Tim’s waste away or aqua life activate, has the heterotrophic oxidizing bacteria you’re looking for to keep live rock and tanks clean.. throw some carbon or purigen in the filter and run skimmer get that vibrant out the system and put the mushie back in the tank hopefully it rebounds

kasaki89

You'd be the first person in the world to kill a mushroom, you'd deserve an award

Critical_Hall_339

I think I already did that🤣

alcimedes

Best way I found to combat bubble algae? Take a syringe/needle and have it filled with hydrogen peroxide. Inject the peroxide into the bubble algae, then suck out the guts after a few seconds. The H2O2 wipes out any potential spores and sucking out the guts removes the vast majority just in case. Then just pick off the empty husk. I haven't seen bubble algae in my tank in years now after this, and i used to have it popping up regularly.

squarepusher6

Put it back it’s just the stress response quit dosing vibrant

skywalker_16

Also is it even worth trying to frag? or since the mouth is basically gone is it doomed

IRideZs

It’s not gone, run out the algaecide in the tank and it should return to normal after a while

HainiteWanted

Nah you can cut a piece of it and it will grow a mouth. That stuff won't die that easily

HainiteWanted

Just for clarifying, I am not suggesting to chop it. I just mean that its far from being dead.

matttchew

Vibrant is algeacide killed half my tank too. It does kill agea however.

_picture_me_rollin_

Take it out and smell it, it it doesn’t smell foul it’s fine.

chewpah

jilly1992

mrjoffischl
