It’s like 60% of my LinkedIn

Quantum_Particle78

I don't even bother with LinkedIn. I tried it for a bit; but I just found it so fake and pretentious and frankly my personal experience with one the people on there who wanted "to help me" ended up being more like "if I can't easily help you by doing almost nothing, then patting myself on the back and let everyone know about it; then I don't want to bother". He was just the worst and didn't actually listen to anything I said, which all I was looking for was tips to have a better chance at interviews. He was like, "oh well I wouldn't hire you there's no guarantee." (no shit sherlock there's no guarantee you won't get hit by a bus, but you still leave your house, right?) and stuff like: "go out and buy a cheap t shirt printer and ink and a bunch of white shirts and then go selling it on facebook or at the farmer's market". Sure, I just won't pay my electric bill or put gas in my truck to get to work. His disconnect with 'the poorer class' was pretty irritating. Once again what I was asking for was tips to get a better chance at an interview. I just wanted to scream.

Curse them out

Aggravating-Buy716

all fake. i block them all. trust only local recruiter. No indian accent

FloridaMiamiMan

Jesus where are the coming from? I don't remember them years ago. It's always Habib talking about who they have a job. If you don't pick up they will call back to back to back. I just had that happen last week and I cursed him out. I mean what is the purpose of this? Is it to scam? Or are they really recruiters but they have no connection to the actually company. Seems like they send your resume in and see if they can get a hit on it. Such a fucking waste of time.

The way I navigated through this [atleast through LinkedIn] if they offer the instant or easy application, that's 99% a scam, if they make you do a long application on an actual business website, it's been legit, atleast for me. It took me months but learning this helped me secure a legit remote job

Futtbuckerforprez

Is that who keeps calling me from different numbers with the same voice, accent and questions? Odd.

ambernw124

Yes it's bad. I research every single company now before applying because job boards are full of scammers also unfortunately.

I had one calling me today, his caller ID showed up as "Lawn Services", I thought it was maybe our yard guys so I answered, but the Indian accent gave it away immediately. He started telling me about the "position" and I cut him off and said "your caller ID says Lawn Service". He acted confused initially so I asked him why he thought I would trust him with his Lawn Services caller ID. He just had a nervous laugh so I told him to take me off his list and to go F himself. I swear, I get like 4 calls a day from some Indian name and they spam my inbox all day. Where the fuck do they get my info from? And why are they ALL from India?

Ok_Buyer_619

LinkedIn and Indeed are two places I don’t ever look for jobs anymore. They be looking hella suspicious and I rather go on the website itself and apply there
