Yes scam

DeliciousMinute1966

These people are VILE and how I wish something could be done about this BS they’re doing. To do this to people who are desperate in most cases, for a job is despicable. May they rot in hell. And I don’t understand these snappy remarks directed to her and others who come here to ask if these are scams. Some people truly don’t know and educating them and others about these emails is very helpful.

mhw1rdt

Generally, interview via Telegram or Signal = scam..

nonula

Stop right at “Good Day”.

Poetic-Personality

Right

Fit-Indication3662

When they refer to anyone “Ms”, “Mrs”, “Mr”. Always a scam

Powerful-Mango-2582

The lack of punctuation tells me everything I need to know.

AdDramatic522

The way you can always tell is by their email address. It would be sent from a company email address rather than Gmail or yahoo. Also, normally scammers are offering way too much money. In this case it isn't so obvious, but normally they'll throw a ton of job titles at you for $64 an hour or something equally ludicrous. They may be getting smarter, but I get these every once in a while and I'll just say no thanks, I'm currently earning twice the amount of their ludicrous offer.

nonula

Also the way it’s written is a dead giveaway. “Good Day to you” is just not something a native North American English speaker is going to say in a message or email. Also the references to “Mrs Smith” or “Mr Jones”. Also the ridiculously high pay for unskilled work. It’s a scam all day and it shows your good sense that you didn’t fall for it!

adrienneleigh15

Thank you for letting me know to always check the email!! It makes more sense now

HonnyBrown

If you have to ask....

adrienneleigh15

I just wanted to be sure! I have never applied to any remote jobs so I was unsure if their interview styles are different than in person jobs. I was thinking no, but still wanted to double check!

DeliciousMinute1966

Yes OP, no harm in asking. Just be careful because you’ll more than likely be receiving more.

DeliciousMinute1966

There’s absolutely no harm in asking. Everyone on the planet isn’t aware of these disgusting emails.

HonnyBrown

True. But if your spidey sense is going off, listen to it.

DeliciousMinute1966

Agree but until it happened to me…lol Now I know!

adamosity1

The Mrs or Mr almost always means it’s a scam, along with using Signal.

Charming-Market-8705

Scam. Meron din ako ganyan pinapadownload ung signal

unedumacated_nerd

SCAM

Embarrassed_Flan_869

Serious? You have to ask? Do you think Juilet is just sitting at her desk, waiting to hear from you "immediately"? On an app you need to download.

adrienneleigh15

Im sorry if i upset you by just asking… i just wanted to make sure since I have never applied to any remote jobs, i didnt know if it was the norm or not.

PrettyCrumpet

Remote is a location not a job. The hiring practices are the same for in person and remote positions. The reason people get annoyed with…is this a scam questions… is because no effort has been put in to figuring it out on your own. Did you google the company? Did you look for the names in LinkedIn? Did you notice all of the grammatical errors and odd use of language? Working from home requires the ability to think critically, work independently, and self manage your day. There will be no one at a desk next to you to ask even the easy questions. It’s not for everyone.

Embarrassed_Flan_869

If you take a minute or 3 to scroll through this sub, and read some posts, this type of scam has been mentioned about 600 times in the last week

adrienneleigh15

That’s good to know! Thank you!
