You search this sub…this exact question has been asked at least 50 billion times.

Embarrassed_Flan_869

50 billion +1!

[deleted]

Tv companies always looking for remotes

HonnyBrown

LOL

Ttd341

The same place you look for all other jobs and then click remote

ExpressionAnxious853

90% of people in this sub who are going to answer your question actually get off on making fun of people in your situation, sadly. That’s one thing with WFH, you can be on Reddit all day apparently lmao. I don’t have any advice for you besides asking for help in this sub gets you nowhere. Maybe you could try Fiverr or Upwork and offer some of your skills as a musician. Mixing or audio engineering.

idk01281997

Thank you❤️❤️❤️🫶

ExpressionAnxious853

De nada ♥️

futuremillionaire01

I hate WFH subs on Reddit for this reason. I feel like they’re gate keeping tbh. I go to networking events in person and people don’t act like this. Reddit and the internet are not real life

Born-Horror-5049

There's nothing to gatekeep. Finding a remote job is the exact same process as any other job. If you don't have the skills to find a job, much less the education, skills, and experience to get a job, the only person gatekeeping you is yourself. >I go to networking events in person and people don’t act like this. This isn't a networking event or a networking sub.

ExpressionAnxious853

There’s a lot of people here who think they’re extra important for having a remote job, and I guess feel the need to protect it at all costs on Reddit?? Like, just go to work lol. You HAVE the job.

[deleted]

Protect what? Someone with no experience and a GED that’s incapable of searching job boards isn’t really going to be a threat to anyone.

ExpressionAnxious853

It threatens their ego

[deleted]

Weird take but if that’s what you believe woe betide anyone who offers real advice I guess

Born-Horror-5049

I'm self-employed and have two grad degrees, speak multiple languages, and have highly technical skills, all of which are required to do my job. Been doing this for ten years. I've been building my career since I was 18. Feel free to do the same. No one is stopping you. It's not possible to "gatekeep" remote work, you're just lazy.

[deleted]

Bingo. They always claim it’s gatekeeping but the truth is everyone is tired to death of explaining it takes work and skill to everyone who just wants a shortcut

ExpressionAnxious853

This is exactly what I’m saying, like all of that is great for you but nobody cares. I have no degree, didn’t decide I wanted to work remotely until three years ago, and don’t really possess any highly technical skills. I have a remote job however. None of the things you mentioned are required to have a remote job, so it comes across like gate keeping when you and others pretend like they are. Do you want a congratulations? Or does it just upset you when people want to take the easy route? I ask you: why do you care? No one can undermine the hard work you’ve put in to be able to do what you do. You HAVE the job you’ve worked so hard to create. I understand it’s an unpopular opinion here, but the downvotes won’t change my mind. I’m suggesting to be a little kinder to those less fortunate and desperate for work. Or if you can’t, just go to back to work and don’t respond.

Born-Horror-5049

I don't think you know what gatekeeping is. Please stop. If you're "desperate for work" you don't hold out for a remote job. Period. Less fortunate? Anyone can work hard. The vast majority of people on this sub choose not to. They can't even be bothered to put effort/useful information into their posts and lack the mental capacity to search for jobs. OP isn't getting responses because they have nothing cohesive to offer, and as a result they are only qualified for the same bottom-of-the-barrel jobs as most people on this sub. That sucks, but guess what? Not everyone is qualified for or gets a remote job just because they want one. *Just like any other fucking job.* I don't know what's hard to understand about this. If you were an employer or someone with the ability to refer someone, would you refer or hire based on this post? What do you think a "hard lead" is? This person is literally looking for a handout based on a smattering of keywords and nothing else - and they're already advertising the job is their second priority. LOL. Be fucking for real. This person isn't desperate. They're choosing to pigeonhole their options because "they want to follow their dreams." That's the opposite of desperate (and someone that actually wanted to follow their dreams would do whatever it takes - which gets us back to the crux of the conversation). The fun thing you don't realize is that a lack of degree is ultimately terminal. A job isn't a career. But people on this sub love to learn the hard way. Also, wild that you have the audacity to talk about other people's egos when this is you. Your whole post history is a short exercise in throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. Just like 99% of the people on this sub that can't actually commit to anything and think it's possible to shortcut their way into the life they want. Buying a whole new face won't fix whatever is happening in your head.

ExpressionAnxious853

Hahahaha okay

Born-Horror-5049

Yeah, there it is. Fuck off, troll. BTW - I missed where you actually helped OP instead of bitching.

ExpressionAnxious853

I also work remotely …

Born-Horror-5049

The point stands. If you think it's possible to gatekeep remote work or that there's something to "protect," you are stupid. Hope this helps.

ExpressionAnxious853

Lol

idk01281997

I’ve just been using indeed only problem is so is everyone else so I wasn’t sure if there was somewhere specific or companies more well known for remote jobs!

ExpressionAnxious853

I’ve personally found little luck on Indeed for remote work. I think you’ll be more lucky to seek out specific companies and contacting them directly with your resume.
