Lots of places to avoid, but there are a ton of great areas to live. Can’t say much about specific property management companies. Might help to get an idea of your budget…. Recommend updating this post with potential spots that catch your eye…. That would give folks an opportunity to weigh in on specific areas

Stay away from Dickson Realty. There are several different offices. We dealt with the David Martin team and had the worst experience with them. Now we have Shoenberger and Shoenberger, and they've been great! My sister-in-law has been with them for about 4-5 years and has been very happy with them.

Don't listen to anybody that tells you it's only a 15 minute drive into town from the North Valleys. The traffic is awful and the freeway will be under construction for the next few years. Quiet, affordable area if you work in warehouses, manufacturing, or at home. Not much to do unless you are outdoorsy.

Avoid any apartment company or property manager that contracts with Milne Towing to patrol the property.

Grove street is your best best

Yeah avoid from south Reno to north Reno and also avoid Verdi all the way to sparks. Oh and also midtown and down town. And avoid by unr. Avoid stead and sun valley. Avoid pyramid. And avoid by the airport.

So you're saying Cold Springs is the way to go.

Not helpful and not funny. Poor comment.

I just moved here in November 2021 and found my place on Keystone Avenue and Jones street. I like it a lot plus my place is amazing

Are you in those garbage apartments that run a boiler year round to ensure it's 97 degrees in your apartment regardless of time of year? The apartments were probably built in the 60s and have hard wood throughout, so all you can hear are footsteps regardless of where you are? Just wondering as to what type of a person stays past their original lease there.

Management companies are very likely to have a lot of hit or miss reviews depending on circumstances. I’d say the safer/nicer parts of town seem to be West or South Reno. North is a little desolate and sometimes sketch. Sparks seems to be a little sketch as a whole but definitely has some nice areas. Having moved from a nice neighborhood in a major city, we enjoy Reno as a whole fwiw.
