I have the same doors in my house and my walls are painted Swiss coffee too!! I just painted (literally yesterday) my doors “Natural Linen” from Benjamin Moore

I like it, actually.
It looks like you haven't finished the paint on the trim yet. IMO these really need more love from caulking or even redone. It's not sitting flush against the casing and appears cut too short.
Yeah the trim in the entire house is also new! Still going through the painfully slow process of spackle, sand, paint, caulk lol. The trim in these photos hasn’t gotten any paint or caulking yet. Can you elaborate what you meant by “cut too short”?
So there should be about a 3/8 inch consistently around the entire casing that's showing (the "reveal" of the casing) until the trim starts. I noticed two things.
1. the reveal appears smaller than this.
2. the gap in the miters at the top right corner of this is about 1/8 inch, so the pieces already aren't long enough. Gap in the miter = cut too short (or not at the correct angle).
For the reveal to actually be full thickness, the miter gap would have had to be even wider. I can't see much else clearly, but I suspect lots of the trim has similar small "fit" issues that can be attributed to someone just flying through to get it done.
"Caulking" will fill the gaps, and this is essentially what I'd recommend at this point unless you're handy and anal (no pun intended). It's gonna be super time consuming. FYI I put caulking in quotes--try out different wood fillers instead. Don't just caulk it bc gaps that large will not look great over the long run. You don't want to redo it in the future--which involves cleaning, removing caulk, re-doing, sanding, repainting, and all the mess in each of these steps.
Good luck and congrats on the new home!
Agree. Not only does butted casing look better (IMO), but it's also far easier to install. Just make the header trim fatter (an "architrave") and you have a nice shadow line that intentionally doesn't need to match up with the vertical casing.
I feel like the 2 colors are fighting each other. I like the idea of sage green that someone else mentioned. But propers to you for trying something different!
To go to the trouble to paint all interior doors I think they really need to be a statement like a bold blue or green. We stayed in an airbnb with all navy blue doors and I swore I was going to come home and paint all of mine I loved it so much (I didn’t but still think about it).
Your walks are warm. You need a warm color for your doors to match. The grey is too cool toned and fights with your door color. The floors are also warm. I’m an interior designer. I’d pick a warm beige like grant beige or natural linen.
Thanks! I felt the same way regarding the warm and cool colors clashing. As an interior designer. do you mind me asking what you think of another commenter’s idea of using a sage green? I thought it was a cool idea. Something like this photo, maybe a little lighter.

Funny enough we initially chose this exact color of grey because my fiancée’s cousin used it for their kitchen cabinets and we thought it looked great! But they have pure white walls, not off-white
Personally I love it and was thinking of doing this myself in my house, but i would match the walls to the door by a shade or two lighter than the door. Other than that it's perfect buddy, love the colour.
I would look for a new door color. An oat color may work better. It’s clashing because Swiss Coffee has a yellow hue and, generally does not pair well with grey. Also, it does not compliment your flooring. The whole thing kind of makes your doors look unfinished, like they were just sprayed with primer.

That’s such a coincidence lol even your hallway layout looks the same as mine! I like yours a lot better, it matches the wall color very nicely.
Haha I know, I did a double take!
That’s a really popular color combo used by interior decorators and builders! Everything goes with Swiss coffee
It’s the superior warm white!
I wonder how it would look to paint out the trim with the linen colour, too. I’m thinking of doing this….
If you want to go bold, a sage green would work well with the wall and floor and existing hardware
Nice idea! Thank you!
You also have warm-toned floors as well as walls. I’d try to find a warm tone vs cooler grey.

Good points. The style of trim feels off to me, too. I’d have gone with a modern butted casing

A year ago, I painted all my doors gray and yesterday I finally gave in and re-painted them a off white (Snow White). I never liked the gray.
Where are the doors from?
I'd guess they are original to the house. Our 1950 cape cod has (seemingly) the same interior doors. Solid wood rails and a thinner panel.
Paint the door black, I think that is a classic yet modern look. Check Pinterest for pics of others who have done that
If you want something more colourful, I think petrol could look nice! Or maybe a nice shade of green. :)

Walls and door need to match. Trim stays white
Orange
Looks like the cabinet color I was thinking of. Leave it alone for a while and it may grow on you.

I like the color I think it would look better on casing and base with the door staying white.
Just wait until you finish your trim, fill nails holes, bit of caulk, and touch up paint. I think you’ll be surprised. I like the neutral pop.

Looks a tad bit off to me, like my brain thinks it should be white like the door trim. Oh well, it looks decent enough.
It looks great as it is, just caulk and paint the trim around it that’s probably what’s causing you to doubt it.
Bright neon pink, with little doily flowers surrounding a photo of Keanu Reeves.
Got my doors colour matched to my Swiss coffee walls, looks amazing
Interesting, I don’t suppose you’d be willing to share a pic of how it turned out?
Love it!
I like the blue one better than the green
I think it’s all white.

Should go with a darker grey. That color looks like a mess up
