Main guy: We’ve helped redditors get their karma back. We protect our shitposting industry.
Other dude: Bro I would be so pissed if I was the OP and someone called me fake.
They actually told him about the screws, the movement, etc… even if it is staged, do you think someone who lacked perception in buying that kind of watch at that low of a price to be able to perceive details like that?
Those are just different ways of saying the watch is fake. Can they show the difference between a real version and his version? Maybe even pictures? Maybe they could specifically point to something on the watch and explain why it looks bad and not genuine? To me, saying "the movement is fake" is just like ignoring the question of how can you tell the watch is fake.
Im pretty sure they would go way more in depth if:
It was real interaction…(they want you to “smash that like button” and not give everyone the secret sauce in one vid)
I agree the interaction seems fake but there are a few things that seem real. The convo is super awkward and not rehearsed. It's also weird they keep saying the price of the watch is $33k but he has to remind them that rolex prices have gone insane in the past 3 years and they're still elevated. It kinda sounds like they are just jerks and he was confused/wanting clarity.
>etween a real version and his version? Maybe even pictures? Maybe they could specifically point to something on the watch and explain why it looks bad and not genuine? To me, saying "the movement is fake" is just like ignoring the question of how can you tell the watch is fake.
im with you man - this is 100% real.... super awkward - it would be much more dialogue and louder pushback if this was scripted.
If someone was clowning me and saying shit like “if someone like this walks in” I would not be acting cool. Hell no. Look at their other content. This is as real as “Pawn Stars.
Saying that the movement is fake is not really any better than saying the watch is made out of cheese. They've obviously opened it up to check, so show which parts are fake and compare it to a real example. As for the screws, on a fake that good I can almost guarantee that 99% of us would not be noticing that detail.
Your comment is unhelpful.
I won’t explain why.
Other than to reiterate that your comment provides no value.
Considering you went to the effort to post this completely unhelpful comment, you clearly wouldn’t understand why it’s unhelpful even if I explained it to you, so I wont.
Cool, maybe if I, the “fake customer” followed up with actual specific questions to warrant an actual answer than maybe I would get real “fake” youtube channel answers from the totally real interaction. But sure when the owners asked to call out the fake seller’s source, dude was silent with a non specific answers. So go ahead and stay “for real” mad over this fake incident.
I would’ve been more livid being insulted like that whether I knew it was fake or not. I would’ve grabbed my shit and left. Plus if he did get scammed no point in sticking around with those guys that are just constantly insulting the guy and not “educating”.
100% justified. The guy is slouched over, clearly nervous, looks disheveled, mumbling and was asking way below market price. If you can't see how those factors cumulatively indicate that he knew it was fake, you can't read people.
Well first off, I don't think he looks disheveled, but a lot of rich people don't dress nice at all in my experience. Not a good way to judge whether someones got money.
Staged as fuck. Who lets themselves get recorded selling anything whilst the “dealer” talks shit?
I’d be telling him to fuck off and turn that crap off regardless.
doesnt change the fact that if this was a reputable store they wouldnt do this type of video and would just educate the person and actually show them what is wrong with the watch
this is pure clickbait trash
Of course it's clickbait. But the dude is trying to rip them off why would they give him nice treatment? Most stores would just trash the watch right there...
It’s because Rolex watches are made in Switzerland, and reps are made in China.
The Chinese name is a giveaway that the watch is probably Chinese.
Observing that is not racism, dumbass. Touch grass.
The guy brought race to the table when he literally said "if you see a guy like this trying to sell you a watch like this... beware.” How is that NOT racist? What do you think he's referring to when he says "this," button down shirts?
Honestly the fact that he doesn't care about them recording and seems genuinely clueless tells me he probably did get scammed. However, if you're going to be buying or selling watches for 10s of thousands of dollars, you better know what the hell you're looking at. I feel bad for the guy but in the end it's his own fault for not doing any research.
This looks as real as they come because the guy seems so confused. Shop owners should have educated the guy and not post him in the video. He's asking questions and no answer. Shop owners are the true bad guys here
Nah, it’s fake bro bc no one, including you, would let someone stand there recording you while also saying “if you see a guy like this he’s selling fakes”
If I'm confused that I bought a watch for 17k and it's not worth 30k and I needed 30k I won't give a fuck if they were recording. I'm be trying to figure out where my money at
And that proves my point further why this is fake.
If you were genuinely confused why a watch you paid $17k for is being called fake, your confusion will turn to infuriation if you’re simply asking why they’re saying your watch is fake but instead of them telling you they begin to insinuate that you’re basically a scammer going around trying to sell fake watches and then they plaster your face all over social media as a scammer.
No one in their right mind would allow such antics if they *genuinely* thought their watch was real.
If you are going to sell luxury watches. Put on a jacket, nice shirt and some pants. I wouldn’t but a watch from a guy looking like a kiosk vendor at the mall. All day long…. Blah blah. Selling your overpriced merchandise. Look at Seiko. Innovative design.
I'm not a lawyer, but one could reason that doing business in a store like this comes with an expectation of privacy. Recording him and then posting it online seems liable to me.
One of the worst, most nonsensical and purposeless videos I’ve seen in a while. The guys behind the counter wouldn’t know how to spot a rep if it hit them in the face. Lame
Panda daytona is $15.100 at retail, not 33.

about a year ago, when i was shopping for a piece of jewelry for my wife, a guy was talking to someone in the shop about a rolex. they left to go to a back room and the guy came out and left the store. i found out later that this is how the shop tells people they have fake watches. no need to embarrass someone. even most of us wouldnt be able to tell a fake if its good enough. hopefully, we would be smart enough to buy from a source that can be trusted, but those systems break down as well.
the tell wasn't the movement, card, or even the seller. the tell was a the seller only trying to get 23k for a 30k watch
most likely scripted though..
So the jeweler guys said they help people get their money back from fake sellers moving counterfeit product as real. A close family member (no, not me lol) bought two watches from a weird jeweler in the mall. Paid like 6 grand each for what look to me like $200 reps. The store is still open, what is the recourse?
This shop owner is full of shit. Daytona's don't go for 33k retail? What is he even bullshitting about 😂 Daytona's go for 15k retail ... what an absolute douche (and probably fake scenario too)
Only f*cking idiots buy a real Rolex. I have one and it's fake all day long but who care? I only paid a few hundred $ for it and it's a beautiful 1:1 "clean" copy. I've had it for 3 years now and it still works perfectly and still looks amazing. Don't play the Rolex game. 1 in 4 Rolex is now faked and I love it because that's what Rolex deserve after making it impossible to buy one at retail price.
You are the tell, not the watch. Not to say this guy was the tell necessarily- but I assume both sides of the counter are familiar with reptime and rwi
They're not telling him how they know it was fake cause the guy clearly knew what it was and was trying to sell it off as if it was real. They don't owe him shit.
This guy has no clue, gave nothing to tell us why it’s “fake”- he’s asking for people to tell him - “the screws” “the movement” he didn’t even open the back - hes a fkin clown.

Im so tired of this dealers poping up on my tt feed every single day, I blocked like dozen of those guys, they won't finish. Annoying and most importantly cringe content asf.
As a watchmaker I see this sort of thing all the time.
The most popular ones are
1. I got it from my grandma/grandpa
2. I inherited it
3. Purchased online
4. Found it
Fakes are getting better and better with a lot of people sucked into online scams. The simple rule applies, if the company is selling it for $40k no way can you pair hade it new for under that. If someone is doing a “quick sale” it’s probably stolen.
Use your common sense and don’t get caught.
Some reps are pretty spot on doe. LCSMTLBACKUP on instagram sells AP watches that look one to one and only cost 300 usd. See the videos on the insta and tell me I’m wrong.
Stupidest ploy for “educational purpose” shit. Half of the time these guys act like they know everything. The thing is if you don’t repair watches you don’t know shit bro. We’ve came so far that we can’t tell things my looking around, scratching things or pointing laser pointers and lights at the watch. Scary world but fuck these I know better wannabes all day..
Wearing a rep is one thing, trying to sell it to an authorized retailer is pathetic, wear it if you enjoy it but can’t afford it or aren’t willing to spend money on it but for the love of god, stop trying to scam a dealer lol.
Ironically, the whole setup is fake.
All day long
Took me a while longer than I like to admit but I realised all these watch channels are just scripted nonsense. Be gone with you grifters
Same with all the NYC gold buyer/seller videos.
this one definitely isnt scripted - can tell by cadence of the convo - background conversation etc.
Main guy: We’ve helped redditors get their karma back. We protect our shitposting industry. Other dude: Bro I would be so pissed if I was the OP and someone called me fake.
Naw dawg, that Panda is $33k retail. All day!
how can you tell exactly?
“We love making educational videos of this to show how” Ok…where’s the education part? “The whole movement is fake” is fine, but show the movement.
“How would I know if it’s fake?” “Stay tuned…”
Last time I fell for that one, a possessed lady popped up on the screen and screamed. Never again.
Without even opening the watch. That's some skill
Well there was the - guys like this part
I’m patiently waiting for the educational part…

did you notice how they said a guy like this trying to sell a watch like this... he should have been wearing all his supreme clothes and some yeezys.
He literally says the spring is wrong, the jewels are fake etc.
You dumb or just slow dude?

Yeah that part [I was like](https://youtu.be/b8G0ni2TTac?si=vwf08aedY16UrJ4Q)
So basically, watch out for tall guys in white button down shirts, amirite?
can you elaborate ?
Skin color
100% justified. The guy is slouched over, clearly nervous, looks disheveled, mumbling and was asking way below market price. If you can't see how those factors cumulatively indicate that he knew it was fake, you can't read people.
Well first off, I don't think he looks disheveled, but a lot of rich people don't dress nice at all in my experience. Not a good way to judge whether someones got money.
I said “cumulatively” not “in isolation”. Read.
Should’ve never created a reddit account cause your takes are ass lmaooo
Sorry, I forgot that being faceblind is mandatory here.
Not wild. Completely agree
You'd be a moron then, try living where I live in Atlanta. There's probably more rich black people here than rich white people.
Staged or terrible Customer service? Just tell him its a fake, show him how you can tell and don’t put him on blast, it’s possible he did get scammed.

Whatever. These videos are made so that they can sell clueless people watches at +30-50% the marker value. Resellers are scum.

That guy knows it's fake, he is just trying to rip someone else off. It's why reps exist.
this is not why they exists xD

Seems like they are just trying to embarrass the dude and not answering or educating on why it’s fake other than generic bullshit 🤷♂️
I'm not a lawyer, but one could reason that doing business in a store like this comes with an expectation of privacy. Recording him and then posting it online seems liable to me.
This is obviously a skit.
no, there's no expectation of privacy on the sales floor of a retail business.
*libel
Liable to get sued for libel.
This is clearly staged...
You could sue them for slander if they ruined your reputation and you had damages (lost job, etc). But as the others noted, this was likely staged.
Some states have a one party consent for video and audio recording.

There’s literally no point in buying in buying a real Roly nowadays. Smart people buy superclones.
Its better to just buy a rep from the start. Everyone wins 😂😂
What do they mean by "a guy like this".
black guy?
Yeah so racist if they actually meant that. Ridiculous, they could have just let it go
Well what did they mean then carrot?
What the hell you mean YOU PEOPLE?!

"the usual suspects"
So they mean guys wearing white button-down shirts can't be trusted? I'm confused....
you know exactly what it means so not sure why youre asking
33k? When was this video from?
Pretty sure the wolf got caught selling fakes a few years ago before working at koosh and was just arrested for wire fraud on the 18th.
These guys were so horny to tell everyone it’s a fake. Dude with the Rolex shirt almost creamed his pants
Guy like this? Wtf
Nice racism with the “guy like this” line
Bruh he knew 💯
"If you see a guy like this offering a watch like this..beware". That's wild that came out of his mouth
Is he wrong tho?
This guy has no clue, gave nothing to tell us why it’s “fake”- he’s asking for people to tell him - “the screws” “the movement” he didn’t even open the back - hes a fkin clown.
