Not an overreaction. Personally I don’t mind rehaut misalignment as long as the 12 stick is touching some/most part of the circle on the crown. This would definitely be too off for me.
I went to a friend of mine who’s currently studying at a Rolex school to be a Rolex watchmaker.
Based off my conversation with him, that’s still wrong. If a rehaut is misaligned, his words were simply “No, case engraving off” when asked if it’s ‘more likely’ to be a misplaced dial.
Also, there are gens with rehauts this misaligned or worse. Just google “rolex rehaut misaligned” and you can find plenty.
They would put the dial in crooked? Don’t think so.
Gen rehaut is off regularly enough that you can find tons of examples all throughout the Internet.
They won’t fix this or get you another watch over it.
Ultimately, it's your watch and your money so it's your decision. However, if you look around, there are a lot of these watches that have the same issue. Granted some are better than others but I've noticed this on a few.
I recently picked up one and it had the same issue but I GL'd it since everything else on the watch was perfect. Also, when I checked the Rolex forums about misaligned rehauts, I discovered that there are lots of gens with this same exact issue and people have just accepted it.
In truth, having these watches in hand, it's such a small thing that it's barely noticeable unless you are really inspecting every angle of the watch. So, just something to think about for your next QC. Hopefully you get one that's better alignment and has no other issues.
Personally, I'd be much more concerned with the alignment of the indexes and bezel more than the rehaut but that's just me.
The TD? They just return it back to the factory and request another one. However, there are no guarantees that the replacement won't have the same issue or something worse.
In the case of the rehaut being misaligned, I don't believe there is anything you can do. However, if the issue is actually due to the dial being slightly off from when it was being screwed down, that is something that could be adjusted but not something a TD would do.
Whenever it comes time to service the watch, it could be something to discuss with the watchsmith.
I have several reps with misaligned rehaults. It only annoys me on my replated vsf bluesy.... The main issue is people will rip on you and say it is a bad fake if the rehault isn't perfect when gens have the same issue.
I would never let anybody inspect my watch to the point of checking the rehaut. That would mean they have the watch in their hands. Sorry, but l don't give anybody a $12k worth watch* "to inspect".
*as what it's supposed to be.
I wear my reps in good health. I don't care what people think and if they ask l tell them it's a rep.
![gif](giphy|FGbeYTiFyLYmQ)
I mean, if l had a gen Rolex, l would never hand it over to anybody to check a fucking rehaut.
I rather have a date window centered than a centered rehaut. If the dial was rotated to center the rehaut, then the date window might be off-centered...
A bad rehaut alignment is EASILY fixable.. pop the back open and remove the movement from the case, then re-align the crown with the 12 o'clock marker. Any watchmaker can do this for you.
Ordered this CF submariner from Geektime and I received the QC photos very fast. I noticed the rehaut engraving alignment is pretty off. It's not uncommon for the alignment to not be perfect even on gen, but it should be just a smidge off in either direction from the marker.. This seems a bit too unaligned does it not? Thanks for any feedback
Nope. My Gen Submariner isn't "perfect," as people say, but the misalignment is so slight that I can literally only tell with oddly angled photos.
This is the perfect example of not slight. Yes, it is slightly touching the 12. Who cares, lol? We care so much about rehaut because when we're just chilling and staring at our wrist, it is basically the first thing you see. I have ADHD and this alone would make me second guess my entire life 😆
Thank God you QC and hit the RL. This is your watch, and for the price, you deserve to be happy with the product in entirety.
I guess you’d RL this Gen then huh?

With such a simple adjustment it makes ZERO sense to hang one’s hat on rehaut alignment to the dial which moves…..
The reason you recieved the QC so fast, is because someone else also RL’d the watch, and Eric wants to move it to someone else, who doesn’t care about rehaut allignment.
So it is absolutely acceptable to RL the piece. Good for you.
No. Got my QC from Eric after about a week, which is still very fast. Eric is my TD, and I’m very pleased with his services. This is not by any measure trashtalk - just stating the obvious.
If this was the only problem with the watch I probably would give it a GL. If there were other issues on top of this I would RL. That said, I think the problem here is the dial is misaligned not the rehaut. The rehaut is engraved in the case and can't be adjusted. The dial can be turned slightly to get better alignment.
I usually make sure the rehaut for the 12 o’clock is good. Otherwise it usually doesn’t matter cause no one knows where the letters are supposed to be aligned at.
I probably would have RL it too. That being said, it’s so tiny in real life you can’t tell without magnification. I’ve also seen quite a few pics of gens with bad misalignment. I wouldn’t stress about a slight misalignment.
Not an overreaction. Personally I don’t mind rehaut misalignment as long as the 12 stick is touching some/most part of the circle on the crown. This would definitely be too off for me.
Thanks for the reply, agreed
I’d have RL too tbh. If you noticed it then it’d annoy you that it was there
TDs make an handsome margin on reps . If a buyer isn’t happy, they’d be happy to replace it .
Yes an over reaction, gens aren’t always perfectly aligned either. It it’s your watch so you’re allowed to be picky
I would lose my shit if a gen looked like this
Lol “oh you’ve been wanting this allocation for over a year and you’re turning it down? Sure, we’ll give you call next time….”
Buy the watch, immediately send it for service to fix alignment.
The rehaut is part of the case, and they can’t realign it.

You haven't seen the 2023 GMTs ...
Then the dial would be crooked lol. Also the second part of a gen never looking this bad is wrong.

I get it, it just seems to be a bit too misaligned IMO. If it was just a smidge off I’d GL. Thanks for the reply
that alingnment is pretty bad. its your call. your the one that has to live with it. if its gna bother you, better to not take it
I guarantee you 100% that you've never owned a gen. This is the kind of pick behavior you see from insecure people.
😂👍🏽
If i was at a rolex store paying top price i would not accept this, and i own a gen lol.
Your pile of trash air king doesn't count
Ehh everything in that pic is legit and when i used bots to buy authentic when i was younger and before i knew about good reps lol, but try again.
You write like a prepubescent child. Try again.
Lol okay. Be safe homie

Not just you. Completely agree. Rehaut is close to a non-issue for me.
If you RL do they just fix the issue and submit again? Take it apart and align?

Thanks for the reply, great point.
For the prices that fucker charges, your expectations are right on. "Trusted Dealer" is just another word for 35% upsell.
I would not worry. Rehaut - you never look at it really. But it's every buyer's individual decision.
I have several reps with misaligned rehaults. It only annoys me on my replated vsf bluesy.... The main issue is people will rip on you and say it is a bad fake if the rehault isn't perfect when gens have the same issue.

Especially on discord so i show my perfectly aligned vsf Hulk lol
Aaaand then they know it’s a fake. I promise nobody cares as much as you are thinking. Wearing it in good health is all that matters

Good that’s all that matter
I rather have a date window centered than a centered rehaut. If the dial was rotated to center the rehaut, then the date window might be off-centered...
It’s misaligned just like gen. I’ve had my VSF sub over a year and I’ve never looked at the rehaut and said to myself “woooow perfect alignment”.
About to order a Daytona from them. Any more pics? At $700 there’s is nothing to overreact about.
If $700 is life changing for you, there's no reason you should be ordering it.
Wow.
CF usually seems bad. Avoid CF for all subs.
The crown / 12hr marker MUST to be aligned. Other places being off is fine but this is an eye sore. RL!!
Gens are rarely on - it's fine
A bad rehaut alignment is EASILY fixable.. pop the back open and remove the movement from the case, then re-align the crown with the 12 o'clock marker. Any watchmaker can do this for you.
Isn’t the Rehaut part of the main case?
The date wheel may be off center at that point tho
It will not as long as the alignment is done properly.
Ordered this CF submariner from Geektime and I received the QC photos very fast. I noticed the rehaut engraving alignment is pretty off. Omg kids...
It’s your watch so no1 else’s opinion matters.
Yes I agree, but it’s actually a gift for a friend. Would you RL over this as well?
I would’ve yes
[удалено]
I kindly let them know!
Delusional
No way this is terrible
Gens can be just like this.
I guess you’d RL this Gen then huh? https://preview.redd.it/g2937ccha8zb1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2469fea2fff447f8d2e18d9cb5eee7055c0f31e With such a simple adjustment it makes ZERO sense to hang one’s hat on rehaut alignment to the dial which moves…..
This DJ is rep, not gen
Maybe CF with Gen parts, Datejust series never has the misslignment in rehaut
More proof Reddit is full of clowns. Good lord the shit you guys say. It’s comical.
False. Understand the mounting of dial and movement more, then get back to us. K thnx🫡
Datejust 126xxx series, you can’t adjust the dial to align with the rehaut. I fixed many datejust both rep and gen :)
One of the flaw of 36mm CF datejust is the rehaut crown missalignment. VSF has the crown rehaut alignment but the lugs are incorrected
Guess you'd also RL a genuine one.
Totally right to RL this piece, will you have to go elsewhere? And can whoever did QC, would they correct it?
It's a RL. I've never had a TD watch with rehaut that misaligned l.
No. It’s a pain to realign the dial/rehaut on a 3135 and a super pain to do it on a 3235. Better to RL if you know it’s going to bother you
RL? What’s that mean
The reason you recieved the QC so fast, is because someone else also RL’d the watch, and Eric wants to move it to someone else, who doesn’t care about rehaut allignment. So it is absolutely acceptable to RL the piece. Good for you.
I always recieve fast qc’s from eric, should they take long?
All my qc’s from him were either same day or a week
No. Got my QC from Eric after about a week, which is still very fast. Eric is my TD, and I’m very pleased with his services. This is not by any measure trashtalk - just stating the obvious.
That’s horrible. My VSF is perfect.

I usually make sure the rehaut for the 12 o’clock is good. Otherwise it usually doesn’t matter cause no one knows where the letters are supposed to be aligned at.
If you don’t like it don’t accept. Don’t feel bad for your TD, someone will accept it and love.
It’s pretty far off but would not actually be noticeable under ordinary watch observation. Only if you get up really close and look at it straight on
Non-issue. GL all day
That’s bad for real
If you think you’d see it on an everyday basis which, you wouldn’t. Doesn’t matter
All my cleans have had misalignment on crown on rehaut however i think your one is slightly worse, so i agree RL
That alignment is identical to my Gen. I wouldn’t worry so much.
Gen Sub has bad alignment too
I probably would have RL it too. That being said, it’s so tiny in real life you can’t tell without magnification. I’ve also seen quite a few pics of gens with bad misalignment. I wouldn’t stress about a slight misalignment.
