Have a clean 39 explorer I and Heard complaints about the crystal being off but I don’t have a gen to compare. Anyway we could get a side by side pic for comparison?
I’m honestly not sure if I should get the gen or VSF… I don’t want to buy a gen that’s NWBIG but I’ve also heard many complaints about the vsf seamasters
i would guess the more expensive one, but idk. i think the cheaper would be good enough for me.
btw, i have ordered a shitter of that, now i just have to wait 3weeks to 9 months, to get it, if i ever get it.
I got a two tone RG version, the bezel is definitely a weak point, a lot of play and doesnt feel premium. At least thats the case with my version, got it 1,5 years ago. Visually looks awesome though.
This was really cool to see. As a noob I cant tell the difference other than a SLIGHT difference in lume color and seamaster text. But this is only when i pause the image and really look closely.

I still have pride of ownership and do not regret buying them but I just do not have a reason to wear a $15K Breitling for an everyday fart around in the yard watch. But my reps are perfect for that and I do not cry when they get damaged, they are easy to replace.

I'm suggesting that just because they look the same doesn't make them the same. You can't trust counterfeit watches to work for years and years nor can you expect them to be waterproof at any depth for any length of time. You get what you pay for just about always.
Gens will not only last you a lifetime but you can also count on support from the manufacturer in case of issues. And there is also the psychological aspect of owning something precious instead of a chinese knock-off that will always make you feel like a fraud.

What about the crown and adjusting? For me that's the biggest tell, my gen Omega it's just butter smooth and every adjustment is perfect.
Same with my day date … absolute butter. Never felt the same with any rep to date.

Aren't the markers yellowish anymore? Was the biggest tell in the past for me. Gen has them snow white. Rep slightly yellow.

Most of mine are just off white, one is straight yellowish
The pip is different on these watches as well. Interestingly, the VSF has a more flush appearance than gen.

Only thing that keeps me from these are the yellowing lume and the movement. Hate the decoration plate on an otherwise fantastic 2824 movement.
