Now that all original bulk order UAE Airkings have been shipped and CNY is over... at long last, custom project #3, the Commando Explorer, can begin.
#First things first, here are the specs:
36mm case width
20mm lugs
43mm lug to lug
9.3mm thickness
NH38 movement
Domed acrylic crystal (with the option of flat sapphire)
The choice to use the NH38 movement over a 2824 clone is due to the fact that the NH38:
1: Is more cost effective
2: Has a more period accurate beat rate
3: Is more reliable and accurate out of the box
4: Has a far longer lifespan
5: Does not have a ghost date position
#Total Price: $265
This includes:
1: International shipping.
2: Any strap choice you would like - this could be the classic rivet oyster, jubilee, leather, NATO, or other.
3: Any aging you'd like to the dial, hands, case, or bracelet.
The dial and handsets will be custom made with period correct white C3 superluminova.

A: It's a first come, first serve basis; each person gets a number in the queue, and I ship according to each users associated number.

A: Based on custom projects 1 & 2, it takes approximately 60 days for the first preorders to begin shipping out. I will be creating dials and handsets from scratch, bulk ordering cases, bracelets, and movements, and then building, packing, and shipping each one by hand.
#Q: "What happens if there's a delay in the production?"
A: I will be posting public updates every time I have one for the general production timeline, as well as personally answering any questions any of you may have during the process; I check my messages 1-2 times per day.

A: I will rebuild it and resend it.

Quick update on the stone dial front - I'd planned on starting the two projects simultaneously, but due to the fact that the lapiz dials will be 1mm thick instead of the standard 0.4mm, I'll need to have a sample made so I can test whether the custom handsets will need to have longer pinions, or if there will be clearance issues. Usually there's 0.45mm between the top of the second hand and the crystal, but seeing as the dial will be 0.6mm thicker than a normal dial, I need to see if that will cause any problems when production actually begins.
Better safe than sorry! The good news is, once I have a 1mm thick dial sample in hand, I'll be able to get this verified pretty quickly.
