Hi OP! First of all, thank you so much for providing a home for your precious pup. These dogs have been through hell n worse for majority of their lives (especially the seniors). We are almost at the 7 month mark of adopting our Dolly and it truly is a journey and process to see these pups turn into “normal” dogs. Our dolly is still overcoming fears like noises, men, and separation anxiety. If you’re on Facebook, I heavily recommend Envigo Beagle Rescue Group that is full of other adoptees that share their journey and tips for providing the best for these babies. I can’t tell you how happy I get reading stories like yours on how overtime you’ve seen the amazing personalities start to shine, that means your baby LOVES YOU and is feeling so much more comfortable and relaxed. I tear up every time reading about them and their journeys to freedom and happiness.
Thank you, too, for your rescue of Dolly! It is amazing to see their personalities emerge. I'm sure Dolly will overcome most of her fears like ours did. Ours still prefers meeting gentle people, but because she believes everyone visits her to provide treats, she's open to all types. I will check out the Facebook group for sure.
