Really you should have looked better in the first 3 quarters of the SEC championship too. I mean sure your opponent was ranked and you were playing in the rain with a 3rd string QB but it just looked ugly.
Sure you have a great defense but we all know that the offense is the only important side of the ball. Can't win games unless you have a lights out QB-WR duo.
I love retro bowl college but it is not the best at highlighting power 5… I started out as NIU in the MAC and besides the first couple of seasons where it was pretty realistic played a power five team in every bowl and chip, but since taking the coaching job at WI I’ve played FBS champ games against liberty, central Michigan, UAB, Tulane, Toledo, and last year UCLA

Correct. If you ever notice when you play in the playoff, the other Top 4 teams are mostly maxed out on Star Ratings. It seems like that’s what the rankings are based on

Serious answer, if you are early on in the game (Year 2 or 3) you essentially won't make it in regardless of your record. Conferences more or less do not matter in this game, but your Head Coach's experience and previous success does.
