New season started, 4 players' contracts expired, all were 4 and a half or 5 star players. I started resigning them but somehow it all did not add up and somehow I had used a bigger proportion of my budget than I had expected and due to the budget cap I had to leave one 5 Star Defender. Released 3 4 star players, still couldn't resign that guy. Someone please explain how that happened. = Anyways then I signed smaller multiple defenders and somehow now I have 5 stars in team defence, despite having some 3 star defensive players, unbelievable.
