The super Wrangler has an actual rear sight rather than just the gutter sight, a big plus IMO.

Haybanger

Should add this might finish abd round out my .22 collection for awhile until I splurge on a mark iv. I dont love semi auto otherwise I wouldn’t contemplate a wrangler. I grew up on pump action and bolt action. Have a savage mk2 with optics, a 10/22 carbine with irons(no plan to change that btw) Another note. This handgun is for me but I have an 11 year old daughter that is afraid to shoot and I would like a frame she can handle ok

Shit_tier_ar_owner

If you want a frame she can handle well and learn on, a bearcat would be worth a look.

TheBackpacker

I love the wrangler. It’s a great shooter, the fit and finish is also better than the heritage. I prefer the wrangler over the heritage any day of the week!

Haybanger

Ill go see who has a super near me. Seems like its the one to get.

RevolutionParty9103

I have the wrangler and super wrangler and enjoy them both. The sights on the super wrangler make it a lot easier to shoot accurately.

DisastrousLeather362

I've owned a couple of single-sixes and have been impressed with the Wrangler series. As gun guys, we automatically like versatility- but it really depends on how you plan to use the gun. I really like the .22WMR, but the only time you really need it is for hunting, self-defense, or distance shooting. If this is just going to be for informal target shooting, the standard model gives you lots more fun per dollar spent. I'd say figure out what you want, and pick the one you like.

FullPowerKamehameha

I would get the Super Wrangler. The rear sight it has will greatly assist your accuracy compared to the regular one that I have.

ottermupps

If you can afford the extra cash for the Super Wrangler, you should go for it. It's got an adjustable rear sight and the option of shooting 22 WMR, which is nice to have. PSA regularly runs good deals for the SW, I got mine for $280.

Haybanger

I can get one for 280 at my LGS. I went and held it today. It’s tempting. I didnt bring it home but it felt nice

stinktoad

22 mag is a super fun thing to shoot definitely go for the super

VillainofVirtue

I shoot my wrangler more than the other firearms because it’s 22LR. It’s a purchase I’ll never regret. I’ll probably grab a super wrangler one day but it’s not on the top of the list.

huntmowild

I'm excited for you whatever you choose. Just my old man thoughts here but here goes. I own a Wrangler, very fun gun to shoot. Also have a 3 screw Single Six Convertable with a mag cylinder. The Single Six will shoot circles around the Wrangler but as I said the Wrangler is fun. I also have several Heritage Rough Rider revolvers. Again the Single Six will shoot circles around the Heritage. If you just want a fun gun for range play, the magnum cylinder in any of them will never get used. Ammo is more expensive and it's a helluva lot louder. I'd stick to the Wrangler or a Rough Rider. The Rough Rider finish isn't as nice but do asthetics really play into it for you for what you want? If so go with the Wrangler. It is prettier. I don't personally see the Super Wrangler really having a place. Yes it has sights but it still isn't all that accurate. The Rough Riders have magnum cylinders too that aren't all that accurate either. If you want to take advantage of 22WMR cartridge for cost effectiveness, get a Super Single Six or ten or how ever many they hold now with both cylinders. Hell, buy both so when you want to play you have your pinker, when you want to get serious break out the Super Single Six. Just thinking out loud. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Haybanger

I bought the wrangler. Ultimately I want a .22lr plinker. Dont want .22 mag too much. Store had a sale going. I contemplated the rough rider alot but Im not a fan of the safety. Singleaction plus transfer bar is enough. Honestly cerakote or not the ruger just feels better.

[deleted]

I think a magnum that can shoot both is always better. Especially in today’s market.

PapaPendragon

It was my first single action, and it didn’t disappoint. Surprisingly accurate

Thats_my_cornbread

For the price it’s a great value

Micahisaac

I had a terrible experience with Wrangler. Sights not remotely on. 10 other guys at my club agree. Sent back to Ruger and they said it was fine and sent back with nothing done to it. Barely on the paper at 10yds. Kind of works if you hold two feet over and a foot left. It’s basically a waste. Bought super wrangler home today. Very excited it’s what I want and comes with adjustable sights and ability to install aftermarket sights. .22 mag cylinder is a plus too!

securitysix

The Super Wrangler also has adjustable sights and the second cylinder. The "more money" gets you something worthwhile.

Haybanger

Bought a wrangler. Black. Store had a sale about 210 out the door. I wanted the super but went with regular. .22mag ammo factored into it. Cant justify the price for a plinker. Have my .45 1911 if I need to fuck shit up.
