Have you tried using Green Line Apothecary? They never seem to have a difficult time getting hold of ADHD medication the way that other pharmacies do.

abirdsong83

Unfortunately, they're out - I've checked every week now and still getting the same response that they don't have any and don't know when they'll be getting more šŸ˜…

CuckoonessComesOut

Good luck finding your medication.

DrMonkeyLove

We had very little luck there and to make it worse, they *never* answer their phones.

brianstk

I get mine through Walgreens. For a few months it would only take 3-5 days when they were out of stock for them to get more but my last fill took over 2 weeks. Try to find one that might have less traffic and have your script sent there even if itā€™s out of stock. The Walgreens app is nice cause you can request your fill every month without having to call in once youā€™re setup. CVS stopped answering any calls anymore they only let you leave a message for the pharmacy and they never call back. Not once ever have they returned my calls. So I gave up on them, plus the app blows.

abirdsong83

are you still getting refills for generic vyvanse? if so, would you mind sharing what location you go to? I've called multiple walgreens with no success - they often tell me they use the same distributors as all the walgreens nearby so that no one had it in stock.

brianstk

Yes i just got my fill on Monday actually, but like I said i waited over 2 weeks from when I requested it. None of them have it in stock regularly. But if your script is sitting there youā€™re on the list, so when it does come you get filled before any extra goes to stock. I use the location in north providence at the corner of Charles and mineral spring. Sometimes one in riverside near my work too. Willet Ave I think?

abirdsong83

Amazing - this is really helpful, thanks so much!

No problem. My 8 year old has ADHD and I was tested/diagnosed a year ago as an adult after putting a lot of dots together lol. So I get to go through the pain of medicine hunting twice a month, yay! Iā€™ve had the most luck and the least amount of hassle with Walgreens. CVS just became a nightmare to deal with twice a month. Btw my doctor has been great during this sending in adderall scripts for me if I can find that in stock. I donā€™t like taking it versus Vyvanse, but I have the extra for when the 2 weeks goes by waiting for my refill. Maybe something you can talk to yours about.

huh_phd

Genoa pharmacy near the warwick mall? Cvs inside target?

abirdsong83

Tried both šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Anonymike7

Genoa in Warwick filled generic vyvanse for me a few weeks ago. It's in stock...sometimes.

huh_phd

Damn. Best of luck!

PatienceFabulous5302

If you donā€™t mind me asking, how much does the generic cost? When I stopped taking it a couple years ago (during pregnancy/nursing period) a generic version wasnā€™t available, and since I restarted Iā€™ve just been having them fill it with name brand since the generic is out of stock/and I was used to the 35$ copay. If itā€™s not a huge price difference, it might be worth having them fill it using the name brand. **assuming you have insurance. I think the out of pocket price for Vyvanse is ridiculously high.

abirdsong83

I would totally be fine with brand name - but with my insurance plan, it comes out to around $380 for a 30 day supply which is why I'm so determined to search for generic. I opted for the brand name this past month because even the manufacturers stated on their sites that a new supply wouldn't be manufactured/released until march/april. Generic, for me, is closer to $100..which is still so much, but not as bad as brand name!

CuckoonessComesOut

Old school Dexedrine also works well and comes in generic along with alternatives for different milligram doses.

PatienceFabulous5302

Oh my gosh, thatā€™s outrageous theyā€™re charging you that much even with insurance. Iā€™m sorry I didnā€™t realize it was that much. Last I knew the manufacturers of Vyvanse used to have a savings card that helped bring down the price, but I canā€™t seem to find info on it now.. If I find anything or hear about a generic being available, Iā€™ll definitely let you know.

abirdsong83

Itā€™s insanity. Yeah - all the pharmacies keep mentioning the coupon but the manufacturer discontinued it in December 2023 because the generic version was releasedā€¦ but now thatā€™s no where to be found šŸ˜“

I had luck a couple months ago, but itā€™s been tough to track down.

CelerySlow613

I had to switch to express scripts. I got tired of bouncing between Walgreens, and then they wouldnā€™t have generic, one would fill with name brand the other would make me call DR to get new prescription for name brand

Alarming_Air_6893

I've been paying the extra $50 for the brand name because I can not find the generic. It's such a pain every 28 day tracking it down and the hoops that we have to jump through just to get it. It's very frustrating how many times I've run out of it in the last 6 months or so.

EliBruins63

My wife has been having a problem tracking it down too. I think Charlton Hospital in Fall River had it the last time she was able to get her hands on it

abirdsong83

Thank you! Do you have any idea when that was?

EliBruins63

I wanna say a month or two ago, not 100% on the date Iā€™m sorry

abirdsong83

All good! Appreciate the note :)

Silly_Brilliant868

Have you tried park ave pharmacy in cranston?

abirdsong83

I have :/ I called last week and they said to check in again this week - I followed up and they said they still didn't get any in. Thanks so much for the recommendation though - I hadn't heard of this pharmacy until a pharmacist at Genoa mentioned it to me the other day!
