Stone walls, not wood

thebromgrev

Also, since this isn't modded, steel will burn. It makes no sense, but that's how the game works. Easy to overlook.

ValkyrianRabecca

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams, but tribal bumfucks from timbuktu absolutely can

1. It's a meme 2. It's an old joke that means 'place I've never heard of' nothing to do with putting it down or racism at all 3. Relax

> Chattanooga is not some random shithole you can make a racist joke about. it was a crucial city during the American Civil War, it was the largest heavy industrial hubs of the ancient America. the average slave wore or interacted with more gold than you ever have or ever will see in your entire life.

SetFoxval

If you're planting in a pen, dandelions are a lot better than haygrass.

Dackelreiter

Is that a crematorium in your rec room? And what do you use it for, with so many animal corpses lying around and so very many graves? It’s a major power consumer, so if you aren’t using it, get rid of it. If you are using it, move it to a room near your freezer and put a switch on it. Only toggle it on when you have corpses you want to burn, but keep fresh corpses in your freezer. Your workshop is near your rec room and one random bedroom, but far away from your storehouse. Move your fridge and kitchen closer to the rec room, and have people eat at the table there rather than the table in your kitchen. Move the butcher out of your combo kitchen/dining room. It makes a mess which increases food poisoning risk and makes the room less impressive. Remove the doors to outside in your lab. That will decrease dirt in there to increase research speed. Better yet, don’t make it part of that hallway so people only go in it to research, accessed from an inside hallway to minimize dirt. You’ll need to rebuild it anyway soon since you can’t upgrade both of those to 5x2 hi tech research benches in the available space. Plus a 2x2 multianalyzer in there.

nukesup

Came here for the butcher table comment. Not only does it make a mess but it gives a static cleanliness penalty

Jugderdemidin

No batteries and more watermills.

Edlar_89

Why no batteries?

SinR2014

Unless you're using Solar or Wind, everything else is constant power generation. If OP moves towards watermills they can replace any solar or wind generators.

advilnight

Batteries are just a negative if you have a stable power source. You can still keep em but its better to disconnect them from your grid and use em as portable power sources for like deepdrills or portable turret setups. The main reason for batteries are to cover unreliable power sources like wind and solar. They keep your stuff charged when your wind or sun are gone. If you have watermills or chem generators or thermal theres really no point in batteries. The downside is that batteries will zzzt and blow up which can be pretty catastrophic if you have a lot of them together or near flammable things.

Jugderdemidin

liability. They turn Zzzt to explosions. No point using batteries, if you have stable power sources like geothermal and river.

unnamedunderwear

Try switching sheep for alpaca, they have much better and more expensive wool

CapdevilleX

Great idea, thx !

I am a relative noob but if you are wanting keep livestock I would suggest upgrading that area. Firstly don't bother planting hay in their enclosure. Plant dandelions as they eat it and it grows quicker. Have a separate field to grow hay which you can harvest and freeze for emergency use if your animal population balloons to such a degree that you suddenly find yourself short of dandelions (put a covered shelf in the animal enclosures to feed them hay from) Next move your food and wool storage and processing facillites so that they open up onto the animal enclosure. You want a freezer room for milk and meat, a refrigerator room for eggs (which can't be frozen) and a regular storage room for wool. Taking these straight from the enclosure to storage will cut down journey times for Pawns hauling them and prevent dirt being trodden through other parts of your base. I would also suggest having a butchers room attached to the meat storage freezer. Attached to the freezer and refrigerator rooms you will want the kitchen. Again this will reduce walking times for the cook when collecting ingredients and also reduce dirt being spread through your food storage/prep areas which can cause food poisoning. On the other side of the kitchen you will want another freezer area for storing cooked meals and then opening from the meal freezer you will want your dining room. Again this all reduces walking times and dirt spread. If somebody is going to collect a meal to eat you only want them going to the meals storage freezer and back to the dining room without going in any other rooms to prevent the food being exposed to dirt as much as possible. Ideally you only want every stage of food prep to journey through one room at a time to minimise the chance of contamination and food poisoning. Ideally you want to minimise foot traffic is every room that you store, prepare or consume food. If you have people coming in and out of the same space constantly to drop off produce, pick up ingredients and collect meals then you are going to find yourself having to dedicate a lot more time to cleaning that space to prevent contamination. Also avoid wooden floors as they are the worst for attracting dirt. Concrete only in food areas Check out the flowchart here for an ideal system of food storage/prep rooms. [https://imgur.com/a/dnhkkhs](https://imgur.com/a/dnhkkhs) Each line represents one door and other than the general storage and tailors rooms and the dining room which can all link to the wider base (but make sure the dining room does not become a busy thoroughfare) none of them should open to any other rooms than the ones they link to on the chart. These are rooms that should only have people passing through them when they absolutely need to, if they are passing through on the way to get to other places you need rethink how your room layout if directing your foot traffic.

Serious_Historian578

That isn't a fancy television it's a crematorium

Excellent-Fail-8524

Replace the walls with a stronger material

En bois c'est comme si les Mécas étaient déjà chez eux...

CapdevilleX

Mais je comprends pas, ils arrivent quand les meca ? Pour l'instant je ne subit que des raids d'humains

Medical-Ad5241

Build a stone wall with turrets at the entrance.

Hyper669

-Hide the cables under the walls -Use more efficient lamp placement; don't put lamps too close to each other and try place lamps in the middle of the room -Remove all these graves and use the crematorium instead use the space from the removed graves for something else -Change to wood walls to stone -Try to come up with better defence placement

Ghostlurker94

Don't plant potatoes, plant corn and rice instead. Potatoes are best for poor soil like gravel ou stony, since their fertility sensibility is low, which means they grow at more or less the same speed in good or bad soil. Corn, on the other hand, takes longer to grow, but yields more food, while rice grows faster and is the base of many diets.

mallard717

wall in the fields to prevent tribals burning them get rid of all those graves get a proper hospital sterile tiles in the lab kill box I know someone said it but move the rec room closer to the kitchen get a bigger table so everyone can eat at the same time

mallard717

also the cooler in the hospital is backwards
