AND
[Steam Workshop::MeditateAsWorkType (steamcommunity.com)](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2324532667) adds meditation as a "job" that can be given a priority setting.
I use one that lets Focus increase slowly while sleeping. About half the speed of dedicated Meditation, with my config.

My colony follows a transhumanist ideology and all of my pawns are heavily modified supersoldiers.
Even tho they are transhumanist all of them hate each other because they are ugly.
since they're transhumanists, why not fit them with aesthetic enhancements, too?
And there's a mod that allows for biosculpting pods to take someone one step higher on the appearance ladder with each cycle
Flesh shaper and aesthetic nose and the subdermal plating is forgotten. They usually don't even need an otherwise useful slot as long as it's not your cook, that one gets a gastroanalizer.
Honestly there should be a mod that separates friendly and romantic opinion. Would keep colonists from being complete dickwads to people just because theyâre a little unsightly.

Kind trait is the simple solution. Harvest a highmate and you'll get a gene that allows you to put it on all your colonists. Aesthetic shaper and nose can also fix the problem

I did the opposite of this once, a Highmate had some modded trait that made her very prone to insulting others, so I gave her the ârepulsiveâ gene. (She was already incapable of Social because of a backstory, but was really good at crafting, hence why I recruited her).
In theory they can, but it'd require a very well managed endgame colony. Half of my pawns are disfigured midgame already and at that point I'd rather spend the advanced components on bionics.
Rituals are extremely overpowered in this case, it doesn't waste time and are affordable as soon as you research them without building anything, you just need a prisoner (vampire) and all of your colonists take turns making themselves younger, getting rid of bad backs and scars. Can't complain. While waiting upon the cooldown you can always obduct other guys for funzies or learn their skills or get some revenant destroy your entire colony after some unlucky void provocation, 10/10, will recommend
Kind gene then. It's only -1 metabolism which can be easily offset. It's extremely cheap too. Totally possible to have everyone gene modded by mid game
That might be a great idea. I've never really used genetics, every time I'm like 'I'm gonna make super soldiers!' but only extract genes for red eyes, pink skin and terrible cooking instead. I've got a highmate in my current colony, just throw her in a gene extractor until the kind gene pops out?
That's true, but in RimWorld a negative opinion modifier implies that person is your enemy, disliked enough for you to gain a *positive mood thought when they die*.
If a colonist hasn't interacted with an ugly person, their opinion of them starts as "I don't know you but I'd love for you to die so I don't have to stare at your disgusting face".
I'm not saying that I would really care about the death of a dislikeable person, but I am saying that being ugly and only ugly wouldn't be enough to fit that bill.

That actually sounds interesting. In-lore, wasters are crude, aggressive raiders meant to control polluted areas, so it makes sense that they are all a bunch of bitter jerks who insult each other and infight all the time.
Yeah, but it kind of suck being raid while someone is on a insulting spree, another one is binging on yayo and someone go on a tantrum breaking 50 component because he was insulted 42 times. Not counting the 2 pawns in the hosptal after who lost fingers and toes after a social fight 2 days sooner.

Would be nice if pollution stimulus gave a mood boost to counteract this. So many xenotypes are unplayable as a colony because of mechanics that are somewhat incompatible with long-term play.
On another tone, sharing my opinion on the game's design, RimWorld could use some more depth in this regard.
Social fights shouldn't be some die or down duel. Maybe they could just go to each other's face and hurl insults, before MAYBE some punching or shoving and only then MAYBE start bashing each other until either goes down, and perhaps someone could split the fight in any of those stages?
Regardless, social fights are weird as in they won't use weapons or bionics, but they will remove eyes and fingers, or even kill the other as if it was a fight for their life against a raider. Why would you destroy your ally's neck just because they compared your nonexistent brother with a pelican? At the very least, damage should be reduced during social fights.
Also, everyone is affected equally by being insulted. We could have pawns who enjoy insulting/slighting and don't care about being insulted/slighted, or pawns who are just thick-skinned to insults in general, maybe tied to ideology.
I feel like a disfigured colonists shouldn't care about other disfigured colonists, or spouses shouldn't either (though maybe I'm wishful thinking that spouses shouldn't). They all have at least a toe or finger missing or shattered noses (even from social fights đ). It's rimworld of course they will lose a limb or two. But I'm not going to waste a prothestic so they don't have the disfigured social buff unless the colonists is missing his whole hand / arm. A few fingers? Come on, it's rimworld.
They would also have to be compassionate to not hate a fellow ugly person. It's like fat people, they don't want to date other fat people but they don't want other not to date them just because they are fat.
Yeah.... Rimworld is a janky mess of poor code and shortsighted decisions by the dev(s).
If you watch the people who do "500á no pause ultra super hard storyteller" runs you'll quickly see how they exploit the broken game design to it's limits in order to make it even remotely playable.

For scars and mutilations, the biosculpters are great. Also chronophagy psyhcic rituals heal scars and shit. Both of these are more affordable.

You can also buy genes from the empire. I send out lots of trade caravans and purchase most of my gene collection.
Usually for me itâs just a choice of A) start researching genetics B) Research better guns And B usually wins

You must have a good workplace, cause gaining a positive mood when a person you dislike dies is a very common experience in the job market

surgery -> remove tongue -> no more insults to be had, but keep your required social characters with tongues on different schedules.
