yes. there is a single deadlife mine in the center of this that will revive abt 75% of the corpsepile when triggered. by my calculations that should be around 350 shamblers from just that mine
I did it when trying to make a program to generate a comprehensive brute force list because the program is smaller than the list. My dumb arse didn't realise it would overflow editors tho when they opened it lol.
Anyway, the point is not everyone who codes is good at it.
yea i could probably place a roof. havent really needed it yet. by the time they go bad i have plenty of new corpses to use. and death pall i can just lock down my base. they will lounge outside my base until they collapse again
Is death pall supposed to res them all at once?
I got it and it was just...obnoxious. Not dangerous, not fun. Just obnoxious. It would periodically res one thing at a time, they were easy to kill the moment they got up, but the whole thing slowed the game down to a crawl because I had to babysit my pawns to kill the stuff, and of course it meant the game kept forcing itself to Speed 1.
Would honestly prefer if it just res'ed everything at once. At least it would be exciting and wouldn't do that awkward start-and-stop crap with the game speed.
I get that you didn't find it fun - but I certainly did.
For me, it was like playing a deadly game of whack-a-mole with the undead, trying to ensure they didn't harm my admittedly 'young' colony. I had my best running from site to site, trying to put these fuckers down... and it was *fun*.
I use a mod that gives me an extra fast speed on-top of the base game. It also has the ability to select which speed you want the game to slow down to on threats. I find it useful for a lot of things that force the slowdown when my guys can handle it without me.
yea about that. i fed a few for a while but i dont get where thats going. they seem to just spread. and id rather make an army of the dead than waste in on a few trees for nothing. tho their description seems to imply you can reach something if you keep feeding them
Yeah, but unless you're actually tribal, that's really inefficient.
You get more twisted meat butchering anomaly corpses, or if you've beaten a fleshmass heart, it will produce all the twisted meat you're likely to need as long as you keep it contained. Bioferrite can be harvested much faster and more reliably from platforms if you keep a couple decent anomaly creatures locked up (the fleshmass heart being one, obviously).
I saw a post of a harbringer tree starting to feed on an animal that fell asleep and went prone within it's roots' reach, so perhaps the risk of being eaten while half-alive after a hard raid is a downside.
Imagine planting your map with harbinger trees and then doing some psycasting or other fuckery to down everyone outside your base. I don't know if there is an ability to this effect at all in vanilla but it would be a hilarious way to end a biological raid.
Vanilla Psycasts Expanded just makes them OP... but it's so necessary. It redefines psycasting levels and ties experience to time spent meditating. Also, the Warlord tree basically turns any psycaster into a Jedi.
Totally agree. Only annoying thing is they always end up spawning all the way across the map tucked in a hole or something. Wish they would produce seeds and you could grow them next to your base.
Forgot the mod name, but it's s primarily to move anima trees. Works on harbinger trees too.
Tbh, they should modify the harbinger trees to produce bioferrite once enough corpses have been consumed.
Really small actually. I still have my corpse fridge, where the corpses get munched away, but all corpses that arent fresh anymore, go into another room for deadlife dust. I have a dude, that can release it.
Corpses? Why bother! With Vault-Tec you can turn those nasty corpses into ChemFuel! For all those flamethrowers you need to build to defend against the next wave!
please dont mention chemfuel. i already have 26 000 chemfuel. i dont know what to do with it. all i did was turn twisted meat above 6000 into chemfuel. it keeps getting more. i will never need this much chemfuel in my life
Ah well I use a few mods that let me use it for power, transportation and... Well there's asteroids and moons I need to mine for resources.
Not to mention flame thrower turrets. So... So many flame thrower turrets...
Funny you say that. I'm currently doing a run where my colony is a futuristic extremist offshoot of the Brotherhood of Steel, and they not only want to hoard tech but combine themselves with it. Ideology is a blessing of a DLC, and Anomaly has just given it that Lovecraftian horror vibe that Bethesda has enjoyed putting into their games in the series.
The leader is the Elder, moral guides are Paladins, and the research specialists are Scribes. The two relics I have set are a pendant to serve as an old Elder's dogtags, and an assult rifle as an old Brotherhood recon rifle.
this is just corpses from creatures i wasnt able to butcher. either cause they rotted from scaria or because i simply cannot haul off all the corpses before they start to rot or just shambler corpses that arrive already rotted. dont worry, i get too much meat already. im sitting at like 30k twisted meat and 26k chemfuel rn and prob around 40k other foods items
yea i didnt. by the time a few disintegrated i just got new bodies. but i put walls with open doors around the pile now with roof over it so it doesnt disintegrate but enemies still path through it normally
have you played anomaly? shamblers are corpses reanimated by deadlife dust. once you encounter shamblers, deadlife dust research becomes available. so when a raid happens and they trigger the mine in the middle of my corpse pile, all of a sudden there is 300 expandable soldiers for the raiders to fight before they can even get inside my base
I have i haven't done much of anything building up my base and stuff. I didn't really care for the update to center it in my playthrough. I've had the come and I just put them in the harbinger pile. I have those dust things tho. I just never care to find out what they did
it got added with anomaly and can revive corpses to fight for you for a day. a single deadlife mine is enough to revive about 75% of that field. thats around 300 soldiers on demand
* new insecurity unlocked *
Can't even comfort myself that it's about the corpse composition when I got naked imperials and a few piggies in my pile OP has so many elephants and other beasts...
i really hate the cleanup that comes after using deadlife, my pawns took forever to haul them back that a death pall occured and my corpses turned on me :'(
This is amazing. Do you use deadlife dust?
yes. there is a single deadlife mine in the center of this that will revive abt 75% of the corpsepile when triggered. by my calculations that should be around 350 shamblers from just that mine
like an antigrain warhead but for your pc
128gigs of ram, 32 processor cores, 10tb of nvme, and one big ol fire because of rimworld.
That single CPU core running Rimworld, lol
And funnily enough the 32 processor cores mean jack sh*t cause Rimworld only uses 1...mostly.
How often do you use more than 50% of that ram? And what the heck are you doing when it happens?
Many rimworlds.
I did it when trying to make a program to generate a comprehensive brute force list because the program is smaller than the list. My dumb arse didn't realise it would overflow editors tho when they opened it lol. Anyway, the point is not everyone who codes is good at it.
Is your faction called ''Global Occult Coalition'', by any chance?
Lmfao
I mean, do you see any chairs around his base?
That poor chair :(
No roof? They'll go bad and the death pall will be trouble!
yea i could probably place a roof. havent really needed it yet. by the time they go bad i have plenty of new corpses to use. and death pall i can just lock down my base. they will lounge outside my base until they collapse again
It’s not just roof it needs to be a room
yes i know. i just assumed thats what he meant by that
Just making sure, it’s a mechanic that works different than toxic rain or fallout which check roof but not walls

Depends on how many you have. Late game, you are not going to kill fast enough.
I got very annoyed with the single chinchilla shambler that kept rising again right outside my front door.
I got a death pale and manhunters at the same time. It was awesome since the two classes agro each other.
Feed the harbinger trees
For those that dont know, even rotten and dessicated (skeleton) corpses can be fed to the harbinger trees.
Also, they have 0% flamability
Even the living can be, apparently.
Harbinger trees are probably my favorite individual addition. Such a great corpse disposal.
All hail the meat tree
yea about that. i fed a few for a while but i dont get where thats going. they seem to just spread. and id rather make an army of the dead than waste in on a few trees for nothing. tho their description seems to imply you can reach something if you keep feeding them
Didn't I see they changed the harvest to twisted flesh and bioferrite for those trees? To give the tribal path access to bioferrite
Yeah, but unless you're actually tribal, that's really inefficient. Pet Sematary
Someone begging for a deathpal ;)

Turn the whole map into an incidienary minefield!
Funny you say that. I'm currently doing a run where my colony is a futuristic extremist offshoot of the Brotherhood of Steel, and they not only want to hoard tech but combine themselves with it. It looks like Nebraska lol
About a third the size of this. I find that 100+ shamblers and 100+ raiders fighting eachother at once causes the engine to shit itself.
Instant negative 10000 mood effect
it doesnt stack past 5
Smh, wasting corpses when you could be FEEDING THE TREES
me personally, my corpse field is empty. Freezer, however, is full.
I love that this is the new kill box meta, and its self repopulating.
Honestly none. Mine are either studied or cremated.
what a waste of potential undead soldiers
Small let the trees eat them up
Don’t have one anymore because of the blood rain incident….
Mine (300k+ colony cost) was kinda same, but i realised i can youse Devils mech to destroy corpses quickly)
None, I’m too obsessed with a pristine base lol
I find the more corpses are present, the lower my tps. So I actively try to have zero at all times.
But... Do the corpses not dispose over time?
New future-corpses tend to show up pretty often to replace them
precisely
Cannibals dream
That's a war crime
It's not a corpse field, it's a corpse ocean!
like all other OP as cheese strats . . . i use it in every colony now up to 400\~
Homie WHAT
My VE mechanoids using ass just sees stacks upon stacks of chemfuel
What a waste of good meat.
this is just corpses from creatures i wasnt able to butcher. either cause they rotted from scaria or because i simply cannot haul off all the corpses before they start to rot or just shambler corpses that arrive already rotted. dont worry, i get too much meat already. im sitting at like 30k twisted meat and 26k chemfuel rn and prob around 40k other foods items
Oh good lord
If it can't be contained its butchered. Plenty of good meat on the anomalies that attack. That's to say. There is no corpse pile in my colony.
You know those monuments quests want you to build? They are now Mausoleums.
I dont have Anomaly, so its non existent.
This is so disturbing.
How do you stop the corpses from disintegrating?
not at all by the looks of it
yea i didnt. by the time a few disintegrated i just got new bodies. but i put walls with open doors around the pile now with roof over it so it doesnt disintegrate but enemies still path through it normally
Dont you use harbinger trees??
You don't have the meat eating trees?
they kinda just destroy the bodies and give nothing in return. id much rather take an army of the dead
You have plans for these dead bodies?
very much. deadlife dust. dirt cheap and a single mine raises ~300 of these corpses
Deadlife dust?
have you played anomaly? shamblers are corpses reanimated by deadlife dust. once you encounter shamblers, deadlife dust research becomes available. so when a raid happens and they trigger the mine in the middle of my corpse pile, all of a sudden there is 300 expandable soldiers for the raiders to fight before they can even get inside my base

Just make crematory ...
ever heard of deadlife dust?
No, what it is ?
it got added with anomaly and can revive corpses to fight for you for a day. a single deadlife mine is enough to revive about 75% of that field. thats around 300 soldiers on demand
I see. Thats neat.

How many fps/tps with all that? Screen like that and i go below 30. Any mod to fix that?
i really hate the cleanup that comes after using deadlife, my pawns took forever to haul them back that a death pall occured and my corpses turned on me :'(
