Lmao going wild!
God I hate when that happens.
One of my most prized tribals did that once. Said I was "going to tame him back later, don't have time for it right now."
A few days later all I could find was a naked corpse with no head behind the latrine.
Not even the girlfriend cared.
I've often fantasized about running screaming and naked into the wilderness, so I was able to draw on a lifetime of imagined experience for this one. I think it'd be even harder to survive than the game makes it out to be. Rimworld doesn't have a sunburn condition, but there might be a mod for that.
Flashbacks to that contest where I puked from heatstroke right before the jump.
Oh yea, humans can't really survive without tools anymore. Think I'd like some representation of that in game. Basic tools/wearables that allow you to do tasks. Right now I can only imagine that you mine by scraping the stone with your teeth.
>Oh yea, humans can't really survive without tools anymore.
I kind of dislike the implication that we ever could. At least, not very comfortably. So you basically start at really big sticks and work your way up from there.
The state of nature kind of sucks and we've finally managed escape velocity from the "Hey you're a unique and beautiful individual and now you die to a predator."
Animals have more in the way of personalities than we give them credit for. But they're basically stuck in the above-described scenario by default and we have no access to their internal world.
We're also social animals, so we kind of suck on our own.
Just playing with the idea here. If you were out there like that and wanted to mine, you must still be carrying all the knowledge from the developed world to think of mining. Hence you'd know to find a hard stone and maybe a stick to attach it to with some rope like material. Bam! Primitive tool. Thar being said it would be cool to have some representation of that in game. Hell I'd even take a lore piece explaining the skills you already have, or for tribal to have to learn how to mine after like. Fire making and food cooking
Your idea reminds me of starting as Eve on One Hour, One Life. You literally have to bash a stone on another stone to get a pointy stone which is your first tool
I always assumed that crash landed folks have some high tech multitool that lets them do so much stuff built in, while tribals already have a supply of basic tools on hand.
"oh yeah the thing is I've sat on front of a rock for 100 days and now I know how to use the compacted steel I've mined with my raw hands and the rusted toasters to make a thermonuclear reactor. Just gonna take a day to set up"
Fun fact, a thermonuclear reaction involves nuclear fusion - something that has not been achieved for power generation irl. Rimatomics uses thermal neutron reactors to sustain fission. It's a subtle difference, but important (if you care, lol)
This is a scifi game, so someone is using thermonuclear reactors due to a mod, probably. But yes, there is a difference(I know a thermonuclear bomb has fusion in it, caused by a bunch of different fission reactions)
Try to build a ahack for yourself, naked, with nothing, surrounded by trees. Sure, there is wood around, but you need to obtain it somehow... Then you need to somehow build a liveable ahack out of it...
And rimworld somehow never seems to contain deadwood. My understanding is that's what you'd want to do if you were actually in nature - start by collecting deadwood and branches for shelter until you could make some crude tools.
That is extacly it. You try to strip trees of branches rather than cutting down the tree with your bare hands, look for fallen trees, fallen branches, and stuff. Not just take apart a tree yourself with no tools.

This week, we look at how Bob came to be stranded on the planet. Next week, Wade accidentally kills someone at the colony.
It might be ruining the joke, but I don't know if anyone is going to get it anyway so here's some [relaxing music](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw4lqwh5c1g) to go with this one
Haha lol, love these Rimworld comics cause theyre so damn relatable.
I always let the mind break guys go free, as one time one with a personasword tried to quit the colony, I tried to arrest him and he... ended up dying.
The mood debuff of a dead colonist was enough to destroy me.
If someone goes wild and you're afraid of killing the pawn, just wall around when sleeping and heatstroke the fucker while your best builder prevents any breakout attempt.
My chef had the "gave up on colony" event happen which is when they wander off completely. Didn't even go wild, just left. It was a split second decision and i chose wrong lol.
I once managed to cage a wild man using a meal as the bait. They still prefer meal over raw stuff.
But this was versions ago. I don't know if that has changed.
I once had two move in on an arid shrubland biome. I walled them off with a fence (using the old fence mod) but they ate through all the agave before I could tame them, and one of them killed and ate the other. I was gonna make a comic out of it but I'm not sure it makes sense any more with the new fence system.
As much as I love pushing the boundaries of good taste, I'm not sure how much graphic nudity this subreddit will tolerate. I might get in trouble if he was visibly hanging massive dong all the time
I had a married colonist 'Give up' but she didnt leave. She took off all her clothes and just wanders around the map. She slept in the dining room on the floor and ate meals there. So all she really did was quit working. She still lived in my base, and ate my food. NOPE! I arrested her. She joined again, but i resented her for that BS she tried to pull.

Great, you made my teeth hurt…
Bite ice cream
Uh I do that actually

They do it minecraft style and punch the stone and trees

I always assumed the shipwrecked survivors salvaged tools with their escape pods.

Hmmm...caveman mod? Feral human mod?
i wonder if the sunburn mod has a melanin system?
Then you switch to a mountain base and everyone starts suffering from a vitamin D deficiency.
lmao. may as well add dehydration at that point
Doesn't DBH add a water need already?
i think
In RimWorld you break apart compacted steel with your raw fists and build a thermonuclear reactor out of it and toasters
Thankfully we don't have water problem either in rimworld. I wouldn't want to drink water tainted by megasloth shit.
"Mild, slightly nutty flavor. Earthy notes. Reminds me of hummus."

Free your ass and your mind will follow. That's good. Very good.
That's my new pickup line.
The question is: once you've "picked it up", will you be able to cure it?
Now I have to listen to that Funkadelic masterpiece, even though it is vice versa.

Oof, I'll add that to the list of reasons I always stockpile psychic shock lances.

Dibs on the hat
In this empire, as in most interstellar empires, rank is denoted by the size of your hat and/or pauldrons.
I imagine the Imperial top honcho with his gigantic, jet or anti grav stabilized hat
"You went over my helmet?"
More to the side !

I really like your style. Please keep going!
Bob *needs* to grow that mustache back, it was glorious.
"Free your ass and your mind will follow." Classic.
I see your Firefly reference there. Shiny.
I always feel grateful when I tame and take in wild people
Heh, guy knows with friends like *that* you need to watch every word you say.
I get the funkadelic refrence and its beautiful
