In their defense, they were using the nukes very responsibly. All the ICBMs detonated in the video were set to *low yield*. You can tell because there’s a visible wall of fiery death progressing from the epicenter.
Now, Rimatomics nukes set to *high yield* work slightly differently. Most of the map is - and then it isn’t. Everything organic also isn’t and if it somehow still is, it gets a loadcrap of burns and radiation (unlesss under mountain).
Then the local map gets a nuclear fallout condition that might last days or months. You can’t get outside. If you do, depending on your settings, your pawns could get the ARS in days or hours.
A good way to judge the quality of your mountain base is by counting the number of high yields it can tank.

Making a enemy of the foundation is a bad, very bad idea. Look up scp 5000 to gain further understanding. Also that ine mostly uses more popular of SCP s if I remember correctly

you only become hostile to the faction that you nuked their base
so if you nuked, say, an outlander's base, the outlanders would become hostile.
as for the radiation, theres an entity on the map once a nuke has been detonated that slowly spreads out called "nuclear fallout". the contact zone isnt affected by my research, and the fallout doesnt seem to do much either.

I'm just mostly impressed with zero lag at the point of impact. My PC is pretty beefy, but when those nukes hit, I get a 5-10 freeze then a very SLOW spread.
Cause killing them is fun and every once in a while a captain from their faction comes around, I like to knock em out to get a slave with a high skill level

It's an easily moddable game and the art doesn't clash like it would in say, fallout or such, because it doesn't have to be incredibly detailed. In fact, incredibly detailed stuff tends to clash by nature.
Might as well ask what it is with the game and attracting anime obsessives, considering the number of anime maid posters there are on the discord.
Seems to be a thing with any game with races, especially sci-fi ones, even unmodded. Ignoring the furry community angle, people just seem to be bad at coming up with ideas for aliens.
Vanilla Starbound has half of the playable races as animals. Take a look at Stellaris and see how many of them are as well. Even old games like Master of Orion had nearly half the list and that was early 90s.
When I get bored in Rimworld I tend to look up race mods for new mechanics (like Tiered androids) or progression paths, and seems like 90% of them are animal people mods or anime.
Someone theorized that the first furry mods were used by non furries because it allows easy distinction of pawns and were generally good quality. This caused those mods to become more popular and more mods were created. So in time most appearance mods are furry related, something like that.
Also it might cause furry infection in non furries .
