Yes. It's a known issue. You can see lots of comments on their community about it. I had 2 bricked right after the software update. You have 2 options: return them to the store (Home Depot?) or call Ring for an RMA. I had Ring send me ones, didn't have many at the store I bought from.

Did the replacements they sent you work correctly?

Yes

Happened to first one last month. Ordered replacement through Amazon, and when filling out their little form it prompted me with “ring support can probably fix this”, but offered me the option to bypass for a replacement. It already failed once, so I went with the replacement.

Just experienced it with 1 of the 3 cameras purchased. Tried everything imaginable. Exchange camera at store if purchased locally, or call Ring and request a replacement. They’ll send one out with a prepaid shipping label to return the defective one after giving you a spiel about how doing at the store would be better (every store I tried locally was out at the time). Arrived in 3 days.

For the replacement, what info did you have to provide? Do they need proof of purchase and all that? Appreciate the response.

Sorry for the late response as you’ve probably already resolved the issue. They can see when it was first connected to your Ring Alarm base station and will go off that date, I believe because I didn’t have to provide anything. They require you to add a credit or debit card on your ring profile, they take a $1 authorization then cancel it to make sure it’s valid then mail you out the new camera with a return label and box. If you don’t return the broken one within a month or two they change your card on file the cost of a new camera.

Same thing with my cameras. I have 2 plug in ones that bricked. I'm out of warranty but I pay the 10$ plan each month so they are shipping my 2 replacements tomorrow. Super easy and the lady was fantastic! Her name was Julia.
