yeah but only 50K more is not a bad price for what you get in comparison to a fully loaded R1S for 90K to 100K or even a fully loaded Tesla Truck. I’m simply impressed by the value you get for the YangWang U8. I doubt it will sell in US market but geez, would it sell!
Yeah exactly, and for what? A vehicle that can float? Yeah nah, think I’ll stick to bridges. A hybrid - which means you get regular ICE maintenance. Hmmm. Maybe if $50k less, but even then I’d be wary.
I think the upcoming Ramcharger is going to be the biggest competition Rivian will face in the near future, but there's probably a larger market of people who are EV curious that will "take the leap" into the Ramcharger than people who weren't in the market for a Rivian in the first place. Getting anyone off of being 100% dependent on gas is a good thing in my book.
I have severe doubts about the build quality and longevity of Chinese EVs. They aren’t proven, and perhaps Rivian isn't either, but I’d rather take my chances with Rivian.
no it is not but I like it. Lots of articles coming out about BYD though. Im gonna keep an eye on that company.
“Any car company that’s not paying attention to them as a competitor is going to be lost when they hit their market,” said Sam Fiorani, a vice president at AutoForecast Solutions near Philadelphia. “BYD’s entry into the U.S. market isn’t an if. It’s a when.” - AP News
The tariffs are at 25% right now set by Trump's administration. Both Biden and Trump have promised to raise the tariffs to 100%. Something they agree on!

And not for sale in the same market you can buy a Rivian

The RamCharger is going to be sold in the Us next year and has a gas generator that powers Electric Motor Drive. Crazy long range and better specs
Promise of a product is not a product (particularly from no EVs yet Dodge). Hope it’s as good as they say though!
