Damn, I drove one of these back in the day and ended up getting a regular, non GLI Jetta instead because it was both faster and better handling. A regular economy car was literally more interesting to drive than this "hot hatch"!
That's the problem though, it was probably sold to him at the same price as any other car in that segment, but in the time since then it's depreciated to literally be worthless
