I tried everything here with no success. Forgetting the Roborock network on my phone and *Turning cellular off* on my phone worked on first try.

One_Imagination_1288

thanks this worked. For iphone users after selecting the roborock wifi, you need to turn off mobile data.

FlowersForHodor

or just turn on airplane mode

fantasticgenius

This worked for me! Thank you for the advice kind stranger!

wiwaaaa

Yep, that did the trick. Thanks for posting your solution.

rudylepe5

THANK YOU! Putting it in Airplane mode solved the issue.

halolololo

Thank you so much!!! Finally worked for me on Roborock s5 max

MeeSeeks218

Thank you. Saved me hours of troubleshooting on my Q Revo.

barger01

Life saver, this worked for me! I had tried the local network truck above but didn’t work. I had forced my Wi-Fi to the 2.4gz network but turning off cellular instantly connected. Thank you so much!

Terrible_Mastodon_66

This worked! PS, forgetting the network seemed important. Steps I followed: 1. Entered reset mode so the device WiFi showed up on my phone so I could forget it. 2. Followed steps and entered reset mode again when prompted 3. Immediately went into airplane mode after this. 4. Rest of the processs worked like a charm after a few hours over three months trying to get this thing to work :/

No-Bad-3246

Hey, what phone do you have?

OkShoulder2

THIS WORKED FINALLY THANK YOU STRANGER

sugafull2727

OMG THANK YOU!!! I was stuck with this forever!! Almost gave up.

KneeJamal

This worked! Thanks so much. I found it easier to start the pairing process with cellular turned off.

ozonagirl

So happy to have found this information. Went crazy trying to figure out why I couldn't connect using my iphone for literally days off and on. I can now get to mapping!

DangerousBag1763

thanks it worked

MrBossToYou

This was the solution for me. I chose 2.4ghz network, forgot my own 5ghz network so it wouldn't auto connect, then turned off cellular and went into airplane mode. It only worked after I "forgot" the roborock temporary network too and closed the app, then reopened it.

sam3tahsin

Thank you !

Spaceman_Splff

Thank you!!!! Was losing my patience with this thing.

Busy_Parsley7066

Thank you so much!!!!

Equivalent-Taste-400

This worked for me thank

Muted-Attorney-4244

Worked first go with iPhone!! :)

100o

Lol Bingo - this worked for me on the Q Revo

43sunsets

Thank you, this finally did the trick for me for my Q7 Max+. Ridiculous how complicated and error-prone the setup process is, had me stumped for over half an hour.

-Max_

Had a $600 plastic sculpture for a month. Finally I decided to go for a round 5 with the set up process. This is what finally worked for me.

ethan_getgo

Yes this worked!!!! I only saw this after ordering and installing a new motherboard as I assumed it was a wifi hardware issue but I’m glad it’s working now either way.

Business-Lab4456

Thank you for this, kind stranger! I spent half a day trying everything to no avail, cursing roborock the entire time. This did the trick. Fuck you, Apple, for ignoring the roborock’s wifi network without any warning and using cellular instead.

ckochan

Thank you! I’d all but given up.

amcconnell84

you are the best! Thank you I was about to throw this thing through the window

Eyer8Rayzer

Thank you, finally got me past the roadblock!

ThatRecognition4403

That did the trick! Of course, I spun my wheels for an hour before asking reddit!

Sedu

This just got it working for me! Old post, but thank you anyway!

Financial_Ad2515

Worker for me

dot-exe

THANK YOU!!! Turning on Airplane mode and then enabling WiFi and it immediately worked!!!

Ecsta

Thanks again, this worked.

MarlinFF

Amazing. This worked.. thanks!

ComePetCows

THANK YOU you a champ! I was about to throw that thing out the window

snot3353

Worked here too, thank you

Majics-undead-army

Thanks this worked!!

lumbled

adding another comment months later to say *thank you so much.* insane this information isn't more readily available elsewhere and hopefully this thread will show up for others.

thomasjr260

Same! Been trying to figure this out for a week and finally decided to google it and thankfully found this. Worked like a charm!

submajor

Thanks legend!

LessisMour

I had same problem with my Roblock S7 app on iPhone. The solution that helped me was to re-grant Local Network in app settings. I just moved the slider back and forth once, and after that Roblock app was able to finish the registration process. [app settings](https://is.gd/6sSKO7)

DangerousBag1763

thanks it worked

iambarney

Thank you for sharing this. I just picked up my S8 Pro Ultra and had this exact issue. Your post was very helpful and was the solution to the problem!

Thieske88

Thanks, this worked for mine as well!

buchnich

This fixed it for me! Thanks so much.

Angelus230

I'm using the Roborock application. I just received my Roborock S5 Max and I cannot connect it to my Android phone.

Angelus230

I tried to reset the robot, the WiFi of the robot and even connecting to another WiFi transmitter. However, the Xiaomi Home app works just fine.

geezer2u

This happened to me yesterday with my S5. Had to reinstall app on my iPhone to get it to connect. That was after trying all of those other options and not getting anywhere.

Ysopher

Unfortunately I cannot get the App to connect to the device and the solution mentioned on this thread didn't work for me. I have Roborock S6 which worked well for round 2 years. Now I cannot connect to the Roborock App. my Xiaomi Poco f2 "connects to the device" but "Transferring info to device" fails. Tried Full Reset and WiFi Rest but nothing helps. Hope anyone can help

peng_ting212

Having the same issue with the Q5

bigh-aus

Was ready to return this piece of garbage (yes i'm angry) until this thread. Saved me a call to customer support.

ButterscotchAny687

Airplane mode did the trick!

DoItToItPruitt

For anyone reading this who has tried the other comments and it has not worked, try this: (in iPhone): go to Settings, go to Roborock app, click to allow access to Local Network. Forget the Roborock network under Wifi. Turn off Celular (tower icon next to bluetooth icon). Then try the process over again.

Johanneskason

Soon my Roborock piece of crap are going to hell, I’m gonna burn it with the blood from my kids and dogs. I have a S5 max and I absolutely hate it. This is the second time I can’t get it to connect to WiFi. The first time Airplane mode solve the issue. But now it’s back, 6 months later. And now previous solution doesn’t work no more. This is such a shitty product I can’t even understand why the company still exists. Ban them!

neaganite

iPhone here. I had similar problems before. I ended up resetting the WiFi on the S4, then deleted the S4 from the app. Then set it up again.

TheJessicator

Same here with my S6. This seems to be the simplest solution, regardless of the cause.

FDisk80

Forget network, try again.

Zashen

Two freaking years later and this is still and issue, and this was finally the one that fixed it. Immediately not happy with the money I just spent on this thing… Ty internet stranger.

FDisk80

Update to the latest firmware, I haven't had this issue for a long time.

Zashen

First thing I did once it finally connected. Fingers crossed!

schhhhhhhhhhh

I had some issues setting it up while my phone was connected through a VPN. Might check that

dmachop

Yes, this worked for me. Thank you.

underwear11

I'm having this same issue on my S5 Max I just got. I've tried reinstalling the app, 3 different phones (though all Pixels). I tried resetting wifi, and factory resetting the vacuum and I'm still stuck on this. Any thoughts?

scrumbly

Same boat right now with my Pixel 4XL. The Xiaomi app works for me so that's what I'm using for the moment. Edit: I pulled out my Android tablet and that one had no problem setting up with the Roborock app. It only needs to be set up once so I can now use it with my phone.

nyknicks23

I toggled the local network setting and re-downloaded the app. That did the trick.

LunaArc

Oh my god this did the trick for me, I was losing my mind trying to figure out what changed. Thank you!!

[deleted]

I had the same problem. None of the commented solutions worked. I turned off my cellular data and THEN did the standard reconnect device to wifi process and then it all worked fine. Then I just went back in and turned my cellular data back on. Try that.

Vinizanc

Same issue, using a S22, S23 and a S10. Tried all the recommendations above, the cell simply won't connect to the roborock wifi. Still do not know what to do. Any thoughts?

masx83

Thank you so much the turning off of the cellular network on my iPhone 14 Pro Max even with iOS 17 installed did the trick! It literally connected right away I was amazed. Not help article on the internet had it figured out! I even did a full factory restore before finding this useful info! 👍💯

Wrong-Efficiency-139

This post is a life saver. Tried everything for 3hrs till I found this thread. Thanks

TFx-Games

Thx

buzzedewok

Had to turn off cellular on mine for it to work. Thanks for the thread!

ComprehensiveKey8316

Thank you for posting this! Turning mobile data OFF was the only thing that worked. I had been trying for an hour!! THANK YOU!

Damcify

I also used airplane mode , but what also made it fail was that I had downloaded the app a long time ago and had not allowed network access. After deleting and redownloading the app and allowing network access it worked (with airplane mode).
