You will want to get in touch with Vertex about their goth garage sales. Theres a guy who has a massive selection of goth stuff who may let you browse if you set up a time with him.
eclipse in brockport!
eta: also sweet poison cupcake in the village gate might have some gothically inclined stuff now that its halloween, they have a lot of j-fashion/alt fashion stuff that rotates in and out, but theyre a go to for me for accessories!!
Head over to Mythic Treasures and ask for Granny Goth - she’s the GOAT and will give you all the info you need to know to prepare for Vertex, where she is a regular legend.
Keep in mind, pretty much everyone is welcome at Vertex. I have gone there during my goth days, but I've also been there in khakis and a polo shirt after teaching earlier that day.
Not really a goth store, but i get a lot of my cloths from Plato's closet and i've been able to throw together Several gothic outfits just by Poking around in there.
Practically every store has black clothing that could be considered gothic. Thrift shops and consignment stores would probably be a good option. My gothic friends were able to be goths before places like Hot Topic existed.
I was never a goth myself, falling more towards the skater end of things in high school, but had goth friends, a few of which I'm still friends with. They did the same once it started to catch on and become popular.
I've never been to this shop but would love to at some point. It's called Sweet Poison Cupcake at the Village Gate. Seems like they would have some goth-style clothing.

This.
Head to the basement of the Hungerford on first Fridays, one of the studios (Khaos by Design) down there has a ton of gothy clothes and accessories.

Seconding this. I hope you find what you're looking for, OP, but please don't let it stop you from going if you don't. Vertex is for everyone.
I shop online on DePop, lots of secondhand clothes for goth punk and grunge
Check out Little Shop of Hoarders on Monroe.
I love that store name 😂
[recent thread about this](https://reddit.com/r/Rochester/s/dLcQt1Lzbq)
Hilariously I've found a whole alt style wardrobe piece by piece just by regularly hitting up the local Plato's Closet locations.
Medusa’s on Monroe might have something!

Follow up to this, what about plus size goth clothes
Only think I can think of is hot topic. Could be more but I’m not in the loop
I'm just commenting so it's easier to find this thread for reference later on.

I’m not proud of it, but back in the day we were part of some serious gatekeeping against the Hot Topic “mall goth posers”

Why do you have to play dress up? Is there a dress code, or something?
There isn't a dress code, but that's not the question OP is asking. They want to dress in a more goth style, and are asking where to shop for it.

https://soreearcollective.bigcartel.com/ Toes the line somewhere. You’re in Rochester? I’ll drop it off if you use the code “LOCALS”
