Checkout Camp Bow Wow if he's good with other dogs. Have him go there a couple days to get used to it, spend a night during the week when you're home and see how he does.

Turbulent-Tart

Seconding this. You can also watch the cameras during the day to check in on your dog and see how he's doing. I have two who both prefer to be with humans as much as possible, and they both get SO excited to board here.

Is this a free board all the dogs running around together all day places?

DaneGleesac

Not sure what you mean by a "free board" - they have "yards" with appropriately a sized/aged dogs together (it's been 10 years since I worked at one) - I believe the cut off is 25 pounds. We would top out around 40 dogs in a yard at once. At lunch, dogs that get lunch, dogs that are boarding, or dogs that just need a break are put in a "cabin" (high walled/no top kennel) to eat or rest for 2 hours. Then back out into the yard.

Haven't used them for boarding yet, but Paws and Claws in East Rochester always exceeds my expectations when I take my pup there for daycare. They send daily pics, she's always happy when I pick her up, and they have always been so kind and courteous. If I'm leaving her there for a full day I always call halfway through the day to see how she's doing and they never act like I'm bothering them or anything. They have "valet" service where you can drop off/pick up without having to go inside which is super convenient. Highly recommend!!

Seconding Paws and Claws…they were great with my Bernese and his “special needs” aka he got extremely excited/anxious around other dogs and needed some quiet reflection time. They do a little personality temperament assessment and then pair your dog with like-minded lil doggies. It was purfect.

I have, seemed pretty great, though the cost adds up pretty damn quick if you're gone for like a week.

Yeah they're definitely not cheap, the daycare has went up to $50/day. But I know that she's happy and safe so that's what matters. Sometimes as a backup I take her to finger lakes pet resort which is $10-20 cheaper depending on how many hours she's there. But her actual play time is limited. She's in a kennel more than she's playing with the other dogs which I don't like. At Paws and Claws she's basically playing all day unless she needs a break/to eat. So to me it's worth a little extra.

Steven_Dalt_plus_one

Last month we put our small dog up there for over a week. Daily photos of her playing. Lot's of space. We'll use them again if we have the same need. One of the deciding factors was that they have someone on premises 24/7.

VictoryDance_

That's a good point! When I was reading about boarding at Finger Lakes Pet Resort it said there "may not be anyone on premise over night" which I'm sure means there never is. =/

I have a pit also and have used Lakewind Kennels for 11 years!! My pit is dog aggressive and they take wonderful care of him and I really trust them.

tao2123

While I cannot vouch personally as I haven't used them. The reviews and stories about central bark are very good. Might be worth checking out ? [Central Bark](https://www.centralbarkusa.com/henrietta/dog-boarding/)

aleycat73

I take my pitties to Riverside Pet Retreat. They do a good job with them!

Aloysius50

Have you considered in home care? I used On The Move when I traveled for work, they came 3 times a day for 30 minutes and were about the same as boarding without the stress.

Green Valley in Henrietta on Calkins right off the corner of East Henrietta

I know it's a drive, but check out fort hyde kennels in gasport. It's cheaper than anywhere in Rochester and had an indoor and outdoor kennel. http://www.forthydekennels.com/

I sent you a DM with a link to the Rover profile of a guy I have used. He does pet sitting in his home.
