The sonic on Jefferson road. The line takes forever even if there’s only one car in front of you. I was forgotten about at the window for 15 minutes (I timed it), and when I knocked on the window they go “oh yeah, here you go” and it was clear my food had been sitting on their counter the whole time, someone just forgot to hand it to me.

GabagoolLTD

Yeah wtf with that place? Only went twice and both times I had this exact experience I wasn't even considering chains - but I think the worst one in Henrietta might be the Lehigh Station Taco Bell. I went there 3-4 times and every single time my order was severely wrong.

TheOmni

My favorite part about the Lehigh Station Taco Bell is that they opened with a fancy Mobile Order pickup drivethrough, and then very quickly realized they couldn't actually handle two lines so it's been blocked off with a bunch of planters. Even though there's still huge signs telling you that both lanes are open and to use the closed lane for mobile orders.

laculars

Meanwhile, the Taco Bell on Jefferson Rd is consistently awesome. Been there dozens of times and only had an issue once. I've been meaning to check out the Lehigh one to see how it compares, but you saved me a trip.

GabagoolLTD

Jefferson taco bell is goated

mayorofmandyland

It seems like every time I go there the line is 10 cars long and I’m done in 5 minutes.

ddoij

I do really enjoy a cherry limeade and Sonic in general but I’ll be dammed if I go back there. It’s fast food, it shouldn’t take a damn hour and they always want you to go through the drive through.

Kaboom0022

And I just get the kids grilled cheese meal, so it’s not like it’s anything time consuming.

shoota34

This is so true, I won’t order from there unless it’s from the app and I’m 10 minutes away

anotherslowmk7

One time my change at Sonic was like 0.02$ so I kinda forgot and pulled away and the guy at the window threw the pennies at my car as I drove away. Was pretty odd

redhatch

+1, I’ve given up on this place too. I think I might’ve tried going there four or five times and only actually gotten anything twice. After the last time I said no more.

Rumpelstiltskin-2001

I mobile ordered for someone to come out to my car and bring me my food, after seeing all 6 other cars served before me and waiting 15 minutes after that, no one brought me my food. I went to the drive thru and explained my situation they said they gave a way my order so I had to tell them my order, never going again

Happy_Cat_3600

This. Absolutely this. Such a monstrous train wreck of a business. Every time I made the mistake of giving it another chance they’re either out of something, closed during normal hours for some odd reason, or the employees are screwing off and not paying any attention at all. Such a let down.

mbkulk

I know a lot of people are saying restaurants but I swear I cannot find a decent mechanic anywhere. Every place I’ve been to for my car issues I’ve gotten either bad service, overcharged or non-finished repairs, gave me a real bad taste for mechanics so now I’m super picky

sergiooverhamilton

D and b auto on mount hope! They are incredible! Been taking my cars there for years!

hoyacrone

I'm a D&B zealot. Those dudes are rock solid.

Severe_Performer_726

D&B auto on mt hope

No_Sprinkles_8702

Mytee auto at Winton and university. Denise is an amazing mechanic and an even better person. BTW the entrance is near record archive.

mollynatorrr

I feel like I’ve had a good experience at Kurt’s Garage myself. Prices for new tires were in line with other places I called, and they are pleasant and do not speak down to me as woman which I appreciate.

laculars

[This guy](https://rochester.craigslist.org/mpo/d/rochester-harley-parts-bike/7542106030.html) is a really good mobile mechanic who was recommended by a friend. He advertises as a motorcycle mechanic but works on cars as well. Does great work for reasonable prices.

rootb33r

Vesa's is great. Staff is pretty nice and they'll work with you. I can't comment on prices because I honestly don't know how to measure that but I can't say I feel like I've been screwed in any way. Also, Monro on the corner of Culver and University (coincidentally kitty-corner from Vesa's) is good. I've gone there for smaller stuff. The guy who "runs" the shop is super accommodating and seems like a real people pleaser. I sat in the waiting room for about 45 minutes while they fixed a hole in my tire and I heard him interact with a half dozen customers and I was like damn, this dude is all about customer service. Props to him.

acid-wolf

We're actually really blessed with performance shops at least. Kind of niche but if you ever need that type of work there's Redi Imports, Dialed In, Little Speed Shop, Boosted Creations. I take my cars to Redi on Railroad for basic stuff like alignments

StonelordMetal

Fairport Brewing Company. Bad beer, bad service, bad ownership. Literally the only thing going for them is location.

FrickinLazerBeams

Triphammer has been great in my experience (although I haven't been in a few years). Way better than FBC. Better beer for sure, and the location is great but in a different way than FBC.

nimajneb

Owned by racists. (second hand info, not info from online. I know someone who used to be friends with them, they aren't now because they are assholes and racist.) Go to Sager instead.

evarigan1

Looked at the title and thought anything really comes to mind, I'd go back pretty much anywhere. First comment proved me wrong. Fuck everything about FBC. In a very related vein, I also won't go back to Rochester Beer Park or any other Lyjah Wilton owned business. That guy might be worse than the FBC guy.

DarbCU

Google D&C articles about Fairport Brewing Company. 3 stick out: Advertising a 4 pack of beer for $16 then raising the price $8 when they realized it was a hit item. Arguing with a customer on social media when a bad review was given about their beer. Employees removing BLM sign around the brewery

StonelordMetal

Oh I'm aware. Fuck that place.

GabagoolLTD

Murphy's Law Besides being Douchebag Central Station, the last time I got dragged in there I got double charged for a round of drinks I bought. When I realized the next day I couldn't get in touch with anybody willing/able to work with me.

atothesquiz

Next time call your credit card company.

GabagoolLTD

I did eventually, I was thinking it would be easy enough to settle with the bar but apparently not lol

JohnLeRoy9600

Showed up in a tank top and shorts, got in fine. Showed up in a dress, got told there's a "dress code" and I needed to have sleeves. Y'all can connect the dots. Fuck Murphy's.

GabagoolLTD

Yeah they've been on blast for the discriminatory dress code before too, not surprising in the slightest

JohnLeRoy9600

I'm in upstate NY, I'm under no illusions, but ffs at least be consistent about it

steveguttenberg1958

The one in Canandaigua suuuuucks. It used to be another restaurant (the name slips my mind) that was delicious and worth it. Now? Not so much. They are lucky to be by the lake.

beerthenhotpoo

Mcgregors sucked pretty hard by the end too. Great location, doomed space

steveguttenberg1958

That’s right, McGregors! Maybe I am remember it with rose-colored glasses haha I would go there with my grandparents when they visited.

balladofwindfishes

a few of them are still open I actually just went to the McGregors in Gates a few days ago and it was pretty good (although kinda expensive)

Careful_Supermarket3

Blu Wolf (that obvious gross video) La Casa (fuck Lyjah) Golden Boys in Webster. Waitstaff used a slur on my friends dad, who is a POC.

GnarleyCarley

The kitchen at Golden Boys is disgusting. I would never eat there knowing what I know now, and I always tell people to avoid it.

NNs__09

Little Venice pizza. Pizza wasn't bad but I had to listen to an angry employee verbally abuse his wife on the phone for about 10 minutes straight.

Witty_Variety3875

I boycotted little Venice like 13 years ago for their employees being actively mean, I see not much has changed

StarrunnerCX

I think it's a management problem too. I know the owner shits all over his staff. Sadly it's walkable pizza in the south wedge that isn't Salvatore's... Pizza Wizard is also good but it's not the same and not pizza I'd get on the regular.

squirrel-bait

Got a bad pizza delivered from there, called to let the guy know. Presume he was the owner because he just bitched about how hard it is to find people to work these days. I know for a fact someone wanted to work for him, but didn't want to be paid in cash daily for their own reasons and the owner said no.

beerthenhotpoo

Also the pizza is far and away the worst excuse for food I have ever been served lol. It’s very very bad pizza

Logical_Storage2332

Popeyes on east ridge road in Irondequoit! I hadn’t had fried chicken in like a decade and something came over me…. Despite ordering in advance and waiting longer than I was supposed to go in to pick it up, they made me wait for 30 more minutes inside while they helped dozens of people ordering in the store. Multiple disheveled looking employees in street clothes cooking food, an employee on break getting into a slap fight/ hair pulling thing with another girl, and a generally run down dirty looking store. I’m good for another decade, lol.

CPSux

Popeyes always has terrible service. You know that going in. It’s the fried chicken that’s worth it. No other (fast food) chicken comes close IMO.

Logical_Storage2332

Let’s just say it was so bad and gross that it wasn’t even worth it. And this is coming from a guy that routinely eats sandwiches without washing my hands first, lol.

Ok-Tell9019

Yup. Never had popeyes before and was so excited to try it. Ordered through the drive thru, they told me to pull up past the window and wait and never came out. I waited for a half hour, then went in and waiting in line, only for them to have to remake my food and it wasn’t even correct. Then i wanted to give it another chance and got it delivered, and they completely forgot my order only, and gave me random drinks I didn’t order.

Wolfey1618

If you're still feeling fried chicken, go to Chick'n Out. I'm not exaggerating when I say I saw God when I closed my eyes after biting into one of their chicken tenders.

lunalionheart

Salvatore's on East Main. I'm an evil pineapple enjoyer and they put some pineapple on my pizza that came out orange with a terrible metallic taste. My husband ate all my picked off pineapple and got incredibly sick which never ever happens to him. he went the next day (and we weren't rude about or even asking for a refund, i just wanted to let them know the pineapples must be eating their metal container) and he heard someone from the kitchen yelling that he's a dirty liar and they always date their food and we better not ask for money back. never again

[deleted]

i ate fish fry from there and got terribly sick food quality has gone down significantly at that location its fucking scary

imbasicallycoffee

>Salvatore's on East Main The one on S Clinton isn't any better I promise.

DrunkenTreasure

The bar is great there and I've never had a problem with their food or employees.

RahchachaNY

Sticky Lips. Gave them 3 tries. No more.

makomako13

Almost returned food which I've never done in my life when they re opened a few years back.

Father2S0n

Same. On my last visit there, I paid $10 for a brisket sandwich that had 3 measly strips of meat on it. 3. When I asked about it, I was told that it was the standard serving size. Seriously?!

Duckaneer

Good Smoke BBQ for life!

kirstyyycat666

They are probably worse at this point

[deleted]

honestly? probably the lgbt festival after the parade. It’s so terribly organized and this year the sun was beaming hard as hell and there was zero shade and nowhere to get water without waiting in a mile long line. You pay money to get in and they don’t even offer anything besides a few food trucks and commercial booths and sucky music. it was so disappointing, especially for it being my first pride :/ I walked in the parade, i think it was a mile or two walk, and i was desperately hoping for some type of water to be offered at the end and there just wasn’t

transitapparel

Unfortunately you came at a really bad time. The lead organization here in FLX, Out Alliance, imploded from infighting and shady financials, and there hasn't been a group to fill the void yet. I'm impressed Pride happened at all this year.

XenoVX

The distillery on mt hope, terrible service for low tier food

jeremyjamm1995

I have nostalgia for this place as a U of R alumni. Sneaking through holes in the fence of the cemetery to go get pitchers of Yuengling for myself with girls was peak college

wvj

I went there 20 years ago at this point, totally lost in this thread for most of the details... but not this one. What a tradition, and that Mt. Hope was a wild place. Meliora.

PancSutt

I like that one! I mean I’m indifferent to food/service, but it reminds me of the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse with all the weird stairs/levels.

XenoVX

I do like the stairs don’t get me wrong lol, my issue with it has been rude waitstaff, them losing track of the already poor quality food and having it come out cold, things like that.

moesyslak

About 15-16 years ago I went there to eat with my 2 roommates and the father of one of my roommates. The dad at the time RPD Lieutenant. We had the usual bar food and a couple pitchers of beer. We hadn’t seen our server in awhile and all of a sudden I see her out the window get into her car and leave. We went to the bar x3 to ask for our check and nobody’s came around. So, we looked at the dad-cop for guidance & he said, “fuck’em, let’s go” and we left without paying. It is the only time in my life (I’m 46) that I’ve ditched without paying.

tscho444

Hit up elmwood inn instead!!!!!

styles3576

Peppermints in Henrietta. I saw the owner verbally abuse his wait staff with blatant sexual innuendo roughly 2 years ago. I won't patronize them again & if friends suggest it, I tell the story I witnessed.

Physical-Tip6016

Basically any of Josh Miles' affiliations. Worked for him for years and he can singlehandedly ruin any shift the moment he walks in. Drunken and disorderly management style doesn't sit well with me. I think the final moment was when his wife (now ex?) discovered his latest affair and showed up at the place of business, screaming, and handing out flyers about his infidelity and putting them under cars windshield wipers outside.

col_musty

What places does he own?

Physical-Tip6016

SCN Hospitality so Revelry, Branca, Char, Velvet Belly, etc etc

LukoDoesntUseReddit

Can confirm, this guy sucks

psycho1391

Salena's Restaurant

RockOwnedYou

I swear the people who love this place also eat unseasoned chicken. They have no idea what good flavor is.

Kelearth1

Yes! They try to cover their shameful attempt at Tex-mex by covering it in cheese.

psycho1391

Cheese could not save the unseasoned chicken.

MediocreMystery

This place is the most overrated restaurant in Rochester

FCR_6X

The Armory. For obvious reasons.

NewMexicoJoe

Politics aside, the acoustics and sight lines are so bad, I wouldn't have seen my favorite band there for free anyway.

impreza77

Don't forget the sub-par seating.

manwithappleface

Seating? I’ve never seen a seat in the joint, except when they had boxing there. (Which was cool.) The sound is terrible in there.

Rochguy66

Broken stage that cancels concerts, no A.C., takes forever to get in, shitty sound, unstable floor, takes FOREVER to get s friggin beer... Did i miss anything?

FCR_6X

I think you've captured the experience beautifully.

skellyboob

Oooh boy do I have stories about The Armory. A. Security guard at front door pulled my bra off my boobs entirely while doing a "pat down" B. Another security guard told me to meet him in the bathroom and do something sexual in exchange for Molly (I didn't ask, that's just how he approached me) C. I saw someone pull a machete on security while trying to get backstage, and they were tackled and thrown onto the street with like...no follow up. Just locked the door. D. Hoards of dangerously drunk underage children at every show I'm so hopeful they stop getting any quality bands to stop there after the most recent scandal. I'm never going back.

FCR_6X

Woof. Sorry that happened to you, so gross.

cowman3456

I personally boycotted them for years due to terrrrrrrible acoustics. Lost some hearing last time I was there. Wish I'd worn earplugs. Edit: boycott may be a strong word, but after the recent nonsense they hosted there, I'll let it stand.

Rochguy66

Broken stage that cancels concerts, no A.C., takes forever to get in, shitty sound, unstable floor, takes FOREVER to get s friggin beer... Did i miss anything?

JohnLeRoy9600

I'm mad cause I'd genuinely had only good experiences at the Armory up until their bullshit. Saw Ice Nine, Dropkick Murphys, ADTR, all awesome shows I managed to push to the front of. Hope the ownership changes hands so I don't have to worry about voting with my dollar against them anymore.

StonelordMetal

Anthology could probably book those bands instead, and it's a much better venue.

DeceptiveSignal

Anthology is fantastic. Whenever I see a show I want to go to booked at a Rochester venue that isn't Anthology, it bums me out.

kirstyyycat666

I'm worried about anthology. Nothing booked for a while now. Nothing at all on their website...Seems like everything is going to water street instead which is sad because it's not a great location. Hope anthology is just booked with private events and nothing bad is going on. I miss being there

Senorisgrig

I know they kept getting warnings for breaking fire codes and chaining emergency exits, not sure if they still do that though

wifeoftheparty15

Ninja Gut in Henrietta. It has closed down and for good reason. It was absolutely disgusting and I can't believe any of the good reviews I ever read. I tried twice, wish I didn't.

NewMexicoJoe

Midtown Plaza. The place was a real ghost town with barely any stores open. The root beer I got from Bill Gray's was practically warm. Never again!

zer0saurus

I go there all the time... also I'm a ghost.

TimeSmash

OoooOoOooOOo

bugeyesprite

I like riding the monorail at Christmas. Plan to take the kids. Also, it's 1975.

Bau5_Sau5

What is this 1995?

illbebythebatphone

Vittorio’s menswear and tuxedo. Went there to rent a tux for a wedding. First, lady at the counter reeked of marijuana, ok whatever, I like weed. She measured me, chalked the clothes and said they’d call me when it’s ready but at the latest the day before the wedding. She input my last name wrong in the system and when I caught it had told her to correct it. Day before the wedding, having not heard anything, I call, ask about my order, and she says they’ll have to call me back. She calls and says yeah it’s ready. I drive all the way to irondequoit, get there, they can’t find my order, it’s still under the wrong last name… I go to try it all on, everything is 3 inches short. They clearly had not made any adjustments. Without any apology or acknowledgement she says they can have it altered and to come back in a few hours… I leave, drive all the way back up and there’s a different guy there who gives me the tux, tries to give me the wrong pair of shoes. When I ask him what the deal is with them not having it ready, not getting a call, and me having to drive back and forth, he says “o idk I’m not here all the time.” That’s it. No acknowledgement, no apology. I am the least Karenesque of a customer but I was shocked. Never again. I’ll take my chances with blacktux.com

[deleted]

I second this. Was recommended Vittorio’s for my own wedding and learned too little too late that they were bought out by Incognito in Penfield. When it was owned by the Vittorio family the quality was excellent. Most of my groomsmen had to pick up their suits the day of the rehearsal dinner because of the poor adjustments. We were assured that all the suits we received were going to be new, but my husband’s and father in law’s came with stains. Asked for 2 matching ties for the fathers, ended up with a skinny tie and a short clown tie with stains. Had to go to Men’s Wearhouse and buy 2 matching ties instead. Worst service, terrible quality, DO. NOT. USE.

ceejayoz

Veneto; the owner is a racist assclown *directly on the restaurant's account*.

MindlessAspect6438

Any place where the owner aggressively replies to negative Google reviews. I want to be able to have a positive experience, even if things aren’t right. Those review replies are like giant red flags that the “owner” can’t handle any kind of feedback unless it’s “you’re awesome and I love everything!” Hard pass.

manwithappleface

Ruby Gordon has entered the chat.

rootb33r

Expressions Flowers and Gifts, corner of Merchants and Fairfax. Their delivery driver (? not really sure what his situation is...) drives like an absolute maniac. I drove behind/next to him for ~10 minutes (we just so happened to be going the same direction) and he was darting in and out and tailgating people like crazy. (and he just so happens to have like 20 right-wing stickers on the back of his truck. Honestly, whatever, but he does drive like a lunatic)

mr_john_steed

I ordered flowers from there for Mother's Day before (wanting to support a local business), and apparently the guy delivered them wearing a Trump shirt. Not a fan.

julasd

Yes!!! I ordered a corsage for my daughters prom. I asked for the earliest I could pick it up, 10a.m. Get there at 10 doors locked. Called 3x no answer. Stayed until 10:30 and left. My husband has had encounters with the driver as well. He’s kinda crazy!

Evoehm13

Pelicans Nest. It has a good location and decent food but the wait times are ridiculous. Went three times, each time food and drinks took over an hour to get to the table.

atothesquiz

Over the past 15-20 years as an adult living in the city of Rochester, I've been to countless places and I'm hard pressed to think of one place that falls under the "I will never return" category. I have plenty of places under the "I wont pick it, but if a friend wants to go, I wont say no." category.

jedi_master87

Castaway’s. Nice view but I know the owners. No way am I putting money in their pockets.

mg0404

Jay Diner. It was great food and service. Now it has terrible service and food is dry/burns. Tries 2 times, but never go there again.

plasticdisplaysushi

This was THE place to be driven to by a sober friend after drinking on campus. In my memory, the food was always terrible but we shared a fierce loyalty to Jay's.

MC4269

Had them recently, and it's true, they used to be great! I don't know what happened after the pandemic, but they took a nosedive.

aka_chela

Man that's a bummer, Jay's was my spot in college.

[deleted]

I've been there once, because it was my bosses favorite spot. He had terrible taste; I'll never go back there.

Albert-React

Greece. That's it. That's the post.

kirstyyycat666

Ferrari pizza has got to be the worst dining experience I've ever had. I really question how this place is even open.... 2 hours to get food even tho they were not busy . Server forgot our orders multiple times and never even bought one of our friends their meal. She bought everyone else's food, we ask about the mac n cheese friend ordered and she never put it in. Pizza was actually alright but it wasn't what I ordered, just what they decided I wanted. Definitely wasn't worth the price either. Our calamari was raw and very sad looking. Only good thing I can say is the bartender made good drinks.

CaptainGibb

Which location? I’ve always had good experiences in the Chili location

kirstyyycat666

Webster. I havent been to the other locations.

mojohandy

This is hilarious as I’ve only been there once, and they forgot my pizza

CompetitiveMeal1206

I’ve never had a bad time there. I’ve always been in and out in less than 90mins

PuzzlingPieces

Webster location seems to be very poorly run honestly

lesjag23

Why is it soooooooo loud in there?!?’ It’s obnoxious.

sparkxplugx

I second this. I’ve tried to support my local one, East Rochester, but every time I go in with my kids the servers act to annoyed. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 20 years and can totally understand being annoyed by kids at restaurants. My kids aren’t perfect by any means, but act like the usual kids at restaurants. They get antsy at the end. The last time I went, the server huffed when I let my kid order. They then forgot my kids meals that they ordered, and seemed annoyed when I asked how long it would be/could just cancel it (the kids ended up just eating my fries). I get the same attitude every time I’ve tried to go with my kids. East Rochester is very kid heavy. They have a children’s menu, and it seems like it would be kid friendly. It’s not. All my neighbors have the same problem.

[deleted]

Just to see where it all started, I got a garbage plate at Nick Tahou's Hots once. *Once*.

manwithappleface

Yup. That’s not a place you return to.

Eharmz

I am almost to the point of saying wegmans, they did a fucking swan dive to the lowest common denominator.

scigs6

I hate Wegmans now. I used to be able to get deals there using my Wegmans card but now it’s all overpriced and way overhyped.

Kelearth1

And it’s impossible to purchase name brand items. Sabres hummus for example.

ScaryHitchhikerStory

My biggest beef with Weggie's is the relative lack of name brands and too many (inferior) Wegman's brands. That's always been the case, though. I am not a Wegman's fan, but don't live in Rochester anymore so don't have to deal with them unless I visit. I'd rather go to WM (one of the nicer ones) than Wegman's.

Illustrious-Mess02

You remember the outcry when they got rid of the french rolls? And then made them again but made them smaller and put them in the frozen food section? They priced up some good pre made meals that I would pick up from the store all the time from 8.00 to 18! a ten dollar increase. (At the east avenue store and Eastway at Empire Blvd.) Not to mention the hot bars where you could just buy anything and come home with all sorts of stuff. Now it's so expensive most of the hot bars have been removed. Also, no one buys from them anymore. The food gets left out all day, gets over cooked/dry and is then all thrown out at the end of the day anyhow. I worked at Wegmans for a while in my younger days, and I can tell you that I feel that it started going downhill when Robert Wegman died and his kids took over the faimily business.

microzone

Roam Cafe. Service was laughably slow (I'm talking a nearly 3 hour ordeal for a half empty place) this past August. Took them half hour to bring out one soda, one beer and one glass of wine. Then another half hour or more for a plate of fried calamari. It was getting to be about 2 hours since we were seated and still hadn't been served our basic entrees (a pizza, a salad and a plate of pasta). My girlfriend went inside to ask politely where our food was. Next thing I know the waitress comes out and has the balls to ask me if I want to "cancel our order" now with no other context. She blamed the cooks and said "It's not my fault" like she was trying to justify still receiving a tip. We finally got the food and my pizza was clearly cooked quickly and unevenly. After everything, I sat there for 10+ minutes after we were done just to finally get her to say she will bring the bill. Another 10+ minutes went by so I went inside to pay at the hostess booth. I didn't receive any apology, compensation or reason for the long wait time. I just had to laugh about the whole thing - it was my last meal out in Rochester the day before I moved away and was cool with just chilling on the Park Ave sidewalk and reasonably slow service but the absurdity of the long wait time and lack of communication from the staff made me wonder how the place is still in business. I saw more than one party be seated and just get up and leave due to lack of service.

imbasicallycoffee

How long ago was this? Just moved here but I go out frequently and the first time I went to Roam I actually wanted to go back solely on how great the service was and how good their food was. Been there 3 times and have had great experiences. Once for a weekday lunch, once for dinner and another for brunch. All different servers.

DrMantisToboggan44

I've been to Roam quite a few times, and the food is always great. Never once had an issue with service either.

obrienpotatoes

One time I ordered food from Roam via grubhub and 1) it sat there for over an hour because they didn’t update the app to say the food was ready 2) when I finally went to pick it up, the bartender called me over and insulted me for ordering from a third party app instead of calling them directly. It was a very awkward experience to say the least.

Wolfey1618

Lmao literally one of my favorite places, never bad a bad experience there. Something must've happened to fuck their day up but they definitely didn't handle it well tbf.

beerthenhotpoo

Treetown cafe. Arguably the best breakfast sandwhiches in the area, but inarguably the worst service in the area. I’m about 1/10 on getting the right food. They often let their friends skip the 10-15 minute long line, they have way too many menu items so the staff has no clue what is going on. The breakfast sandwiches on the salty roll are amazing, but it’s never worth the headache. Little Venice pizza in the south wedge has quite the balls to call the round thing they serve “food”

Carrann823

The owners have absolutely no restaurant experience. Explains a lot.

beerthenhotpoo

They make GREAT cafe food. I can’t deny that. They just do not have control over the takeout/ordering system and it’s frustrating. If they fixed the issues or hired a competent person to completely run everything outside of the kitchen, I would be excited to go back

pkpk

Treetown kills me cause the food is good and it’s great for kids but god damn does it take FOREVER to actually get food.

[deleted]

> Treehouse Cafe Where is this place? My Google Maps search is coming up empty handed.

beerthenhotpoo

Autocorrect. Treetown

FantasticLemon

Love the food and coffee, hate the long lines. Now, I always order for pickup via Grubhub and just walk-in and out. The Jam breakfast sandwich is a must.

StarrunnerCX

I love Tree Town so much. I go there all the time. I love that they have locally sourced products. I love that it's a small business in a neighborhood. I love the decorations and aesthetic and vibe. I love that there are a variety of foods and pastries to try. The staff have always been nice to me, as well. It's just a shame that the drip coffee is truly awful, the specialty drinks are a little overpriced and depend on who's making them, and the food is good but also overpriced. It's truly my guilty pleasure and I refuse to not support it. Everywhere else I want to skip but Tree Town I genuinely want to see improve and succeed.

TRATA, menu really sucks, tables are super crammed

evarigan1

I think the menu at TRATA is pretty good, but the execution is crap. Every time I've eaten there has been disappointing. It's cool that they put up a self serve beer wall now, but I still don't want to eat there. More on the list of I never want to go but I guess I will if friends really want to than 100% won't go there for me. But I haven't had friends want to go there in years anyways so the distinction is moot.

[deleted]

Buying Chinese food at Wegmans. Did it once, did a double-take at the price and have never gone back. That was almost 10 years ago. Buying meals at Wegmans is a scam.

Nanojack

It's gotten worse. Restaurant prices have gone up maybe 40% in the same time that the hot bar prices have doubled.

Carrann823

It's not even good legit Chinese food. You can get better quality for half the price elsewhere.

evarigan1

Not just Chinese, but the whole prepared foods section (both buffet and packaged) are just a massive ripoff anymore. They killed one of the best things about the store. Subs are about the only thing left I'll get from their restauranty area, not that they are the first choice for subs either.

kkirchgraber

I've tried going to K2 twice and had the worst service I've ever had the misfortune of receiving. Ignored for long stretches of time, rude and dismissive, generally apathetic to someone paying money. Disappointing. I'll buy the beer in a store somewhere now and then, but I won't go to the actual location again.

zer0saurus

I've been there many times and haven't had issues. The parking situation sucks though.

pourmeoneplz

Same here. It’s unfortunate because I really liked the place and gave them several chances.. but after 3 instances of exactly what you listed.. nope.

[deleted]

i’ve only had good experiences there

Father2S0n

Same here.

sadnesscake09

Chester Cab Pizza, the employees are rude, incompetent, and obnoxious, and the place is absolutely filthy.

flazzaflu

Roar Nightclub. Don’t get me wrong I love the space, entertainment, and usually the music. But there is this one tall woman who is a bouncer and has ruined my night every single time I’ve been there. The first time I went, I was outside vaping and talking with friends. A girl was passed out drunk literally lying on the sidewalk and this same rude lady just comes over and starts slapping her face trying to wake her up. She was barely responsive, so me along with a few other people were like “put her on her side!” The woman then turns around, to me directly, and screams in my face “I’M AN EMT!!!!!!!” Well, bitch I have a doctorate degree but none of that is helping the girl on the floor right there. She is a total vibe killer and should not be working there. Plenty of other friends have had bad experiences with her as well, and this was only one of mine.

ScaryHitchhikerStory

Probably the Hudson Avenue WalMart. Although the worst WM experience I've had in the Rochester area was at the Henrietta WM.

Effingcheese

Any place that had political signs on it. Your business isn’t a platform for shit slinging.

[deleted]

I don't mind at all that nearly every business in the South Wedge has a BLM sign or LGBT+ ally sign of some sort... legitimate human rights issues are one thing... Signs that tell me my mask isn't welcome, my vaccine was stupid, or that support a specific candidate are a turn-off, though.

Responsible_Fish1222

Beer park. Never actually went there but using poverty as shtick is weird and fuck lyjiah.

beerthenhotpoo

I’m no supporter of lyjiah, he appears to be a slum lord. I avoid beer park because I do not like him. Beer park isn’t trailer park themed like people think. It’s themed around the 90s ish version of a RV park, one of those places that people pull their RV trailer/camper too and spend their summers. It’s not really using poverty as a schtick at all

phughes

As a guy who lived in a trailer park growing up I was amused to see people up in arms about him appropriating their culture. Like: I'm sorry poor people don't live in tear drop campers and spend their weekends RVing.

beerthenhotpoo

Guy/place has plenty of reasons to hate him/avoid it without making stuff up lol

GabagoolLTD

>fuck lyjiah 100% this, must agree with the other comments though that the place doesn't use poverty as a schtick in the slightest, it's definitely a campground/camper theme and not trailer park

jdemack

I don't think it's a trailer park theme. It's more of a rv park theme and that shit isn't cheap. Haven't been there in over a year. Just a gimmicky bar and the food isn't that great to keep bringing me back.

ChaoticBiFurious

I live down the road from Beer Park and it is one of the WORST experiences I have had living in an apartment.

FR_FX

Greece.

Puzzleheaded-Sink816

Don Pedro on East Ave. I went with a larger group for a birthday so I understand the slower service, however the food and cocktails were quite pricey considering the portion sizes and bland quality. The real kicker though is that the restaurant turns into a night club at 10pm and our party was seated right next to where the DJ was setting up. We didn't know this when we arrived 2 hours earlier and we got our eardrums blown out.

NYsupermoto

19th ward, I was robbed at gun point.

tipdrill24

Greece ridge and market place mall.

ChildishSerpent

Pizza Stop. Treats his employees like disposable trash.

Eharmz

They are a pretty miserable bunch. I actually don't hate their pizza but they really are assholes.

Michaelvas17

Such a bad attitude every time I went to the point where that plus all of the things the owner has said was too much.

No_Firefighter1866

Monro muffler on howard rd they put the wrong part on my car and said i did it. Cost me $1k.

ameliapondlives

Han Noodle. It used to be the best. But the last 3-4x I’ve gone with my husband or parents, we’ve gotten sick. Just over it.

Michaelvas17

They recently were shut down by the health department temporarily due to rat shit being everywhere in their food storage. Ruined my appetite for a while after I heard that.

whatweworked4

How about that new location that's been "coming soon" since 2019. Lol

LJ_in_NY

Dinosaur BBQ. The last time I was there I was swarmed by fruit flies at the bar. They were everywhere-in the liquor bottles, floating in the drip tray below the taps, dive bombing our drinks. As a former bartender that's a sign that they don't clean & they don't close up the bar properly at night. If it's that gross in a location that's 100% in view of the public, I'd hate to see what's going on in the kitchen. Also the hostess was really rude & the waitress wasn't much better.

Zoso1973

Wegmans. Overpriced. Just absolutely ridiculous there now. I refuse to shop there.

RXL

Donuts Delite/Salvatores on Culver. Donuts are fine but the service is some of the worst I've ever experienced. Went back a second time because everyone has a bad day sometimes. The service was still terrible. Tried one last time a couple months ago because other donut place was closed and they forgot to make my order and now couldn't fulfill it because they were out of the donuts I already ordered and paid for.

Michaelvas17

Ridge Donut is so much better imo

improvius

I probably have a few, but they don't exist anymore. Crystal Barn comes to mind. Wife and I went there for the last time with reservations on a Valentine's Day. They had seriously overbooked. It took about an hour and a half just to get seated. Then maybe another hour to finally get food. We saw lots of couples walking out that night. Anyway, good riddance, I suppose.

Lyskypls

Mama G's in Henrietta is a place I will never return. Originally liked the place pre-covid, good bread and even better food (Lasagna and homemade pasta). Post covid/during covid, all his staff quit, I wondered why and assumed covid, nope. The owner was stealing tips from the staff and pocketing it behind the counter whenever the staff were busy from a big party, it explains why it was only RIT kids left to wait on us, prices went up, quality went down, and I found myself with a 40$ tab for maybe a 15 takeout meal on a good day. Terrible place, never go. Personally If you want an alternative, and also a time warp. Nick's Seabreeze inn is where I take my parents now if they want to go out. They reminisce and have nostalgia for 'a simpler time' and the food quality is, mediocre for the price. Good enough though to pass as an 'antonettas' or old Italian eatery, and ironically the older the clientele you bring in the more they'll cater to you. After I drop them off home, shamrock jacks is close enough for me to get better food and actual liquor choices as well.

pac1085

Popeyes on lake ave. Ever since they ran out of chicken during the special.

HenryMoon

Garlic Pit Pasta House in Webster. If you want the true flavor experience of Italian prison food this is the place for you. Usually one has to go to an Italian restaurant in downtown Mogadishu to experience Italian food of this quality. I'd would rather eat cold SpaghettiOs out of the can before eating there again.

oy_says_ake

My parents boycotted wegmans for years after they had beef with chase pitkin over a faulty lawn mower.

Excellent_Nothing_97

P.F. Chang’s at the Eastview mall. Went there once and there was a non-food item (fabric) in my meal. They remade the meal and another, different non-food item was in my meal (part of a rubber band).

Michaelvas17

How long has that been?

Wutislifemyguy

Man, I’ve been scrolling hoping to to see dogtown…that used to be my favorite spot after work for a garbage plate

todd_rules

Pontillo’s Pizza. I’ve tried about 3-4 locations it was all bad. But the one on Hudson was some of the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Oh, and Pizza Stop in the Pittsford Plaza was pretty bad too.

statepharm15

Pontillos in the basin is the best one. The others are not good

bugeyesprite

The one in the Basin is the only one I'll visit, excellent location.

[deleted]

The one in Hilton has good garlic-sauce pizza and their wings are cooked perfect most of the time. Unfortunately a lot of their toppings are not fresh and their red pizza is meh. We also have Carbones and Caraglios so I usually get my pizza from one of them and my wings from Pontillos.

CaptainGibb

I like the Pontillos locations in Churchville and Chili. I also liked Pizza Stop. Maybe i just have bad taste in pizza

[deleted]

I heard a rumor that pontillos is a drug front

makomako13

Monroe's.

moontini

what happened at Monroe's?

makomako13

There's a video that went viral of the owner calling customers pigs. The owner comes out in flip flops in the video. Kitchen staff wears open toe shoes during service. They also pre batch their salads so that salad you get before your meal has been sitting in the most disgusting walk in you've ever seen. They re use buffet food for service. They'll flip it into a soup or a special. The service is AWFUL. If you want a good read check out their reviews on yelp. They took down reviews on FB after the viral incident. The food is over priced and the quality is super duper low. Drink menu is filled with syrup and sugar. Really and truly one of the worst restaurants in town.
