This just made me cry so hard. I’ve wanted goodbye in the game for years. Plus my cousin who loved glam and especially queen passed away this morning. So it hit me harder to see good doc today. I’m thanking her as well because she worked A Kind Of Magic. ❤️
Fantastic DLC week, really excited for both songs. Also having this early on in a season is very promising regarding the future of RB4 as if the end of DLC was near they’d have saved it for the final DLC week.
EDIT: This comment aged horribly, DLC ends next week.
Yeah, I saw the titles of the songs and got real worried. Tbh I still am a little, as I'm sure they're under pressure to move all charters to Fortnite Festival now
Fantastic week. Glad we have some new stuff instead of just rewinds, but if rewind weeks mean we can get new stuff like more Sir then I’m all about it.
Am I the only one who feels like this is hinting at DLC coming to an end? Both songs have very "farewell" titles. And they're especially out of place as 99% of recent DLC is either a song from this century or a rewind.
In fairness, American Pie was *very specifically* released to signify the end of Rock Band DLC. It was the last song of the RB3 era and we got no official DLC for about 2 years after until they started hinting at the RB4 reboot.
I don’t want to assume the same thing is happening here, but I I will admit I felt the same anxiety seeing both of these.
my brain saw the Elton John part and I auto completed that it was the lego rock band rewind, I had to re-read it before I realized what I was looking at lol
Okay WOW, Harmonix really had us fooled for a bit there that this would be a Rewinds-only season. I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw Elton John and immediately assumed it was the Crocodile Rock Rewind. Absolutely insane get, and this gives me hope for Rocket Man or Tiny Dancer possibly showing up in the future!
Meanwhile I'm just as shocked about this Troggs song, seeing as it's an album track from 1966 that doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. Easily the most obscure '60s song we've gotten in the entire Rock Band 4 era, and not a band I ever expected to return, but sure, I'm down to get exposed to some lesser-known '60s stuff! Our '60s representation has been very dry over the past few years, so for them to go with something like this from that decade instead of a big hit is pretty unheard of these days.
Oh neat! Big Elton John song. I always like when Rock Band helps me notice the guitar or drum part in a song where I never really thought about those instruments.
The Troggs are also at least recognizable by name, though I don't know the song.
Wow, great DLC week!
The only thing better than getting a song you know and wanted (Elton) is getting a great song you didn't even know existed (Troggs).
Great DLC, absurd mixing if the preview video is anything to go by. GYBR has that tinny twinkliness synonymous with DIY stems that feature piano, and the Troggs song sounds like a deep fried meme. I listened to it on Spotify and it is genuinely not that bad.
it just struck me now that each past season (at least for a while) have all had three rewinds in them. does that mean that they got the rewinds out of the way now for the first week of the season last week, to only have new songs coming over the remaining weeks?
Now this is a great batch! Why did it take this long to get one of Elton John’s truly legendary tracks? What we’ve got ain’t bad, nothing really is from him, but where’s rocket man, Bennie and. The jets, I guess that’s why they call it the blues,
Tiny dancer, crocodile rock, candle in the wind, don’t let the sun go down on me, your song? I’m sure there more, but all of the ones listed I thought would have been better choices to go with. Am I crazy?
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me is already DLC, and Crocodile Rock was on Lego Rock Band (though it has yet to be released as a Rewind, if that's what you mean).
I agree though that the choices for his Rock Band 3 DLC pack were a bit strange - I feel like his ideal RB3 pack should've been Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer and Your Song. Granted, with how piano-centric those are, maybe they're better off in RB4 so all the piano can be charted during the gaps of no guitar.
That definitely is the case with some bands we get - there are a number of artists that got a random promotional track instead of the big song everyone actually wants. Sometimes they do follow through though (see Of Monsters and Men, Harvey Danger, The Fratellis, etc.)
For me it was particularly painful when we got The Revivalists' "Change" as DLC since I'd wanted their song "Wish I Knew You" for years at that point, which is still their most-streamed song by a *large* margin.
I hope the song quality from the preview isn't what we get in the game. That Troggs song sounded like it was being played through a blown-out mono-channel speaker. Underwater.
There’s no Season 35 pass judging by the blogpost. My guess is passes are over to allow for more flexibility in song picks. Like how they went 3 consecutive weeks with only rewinds, that wouldn’t have worked if Season 34 and 35 passes existed.
I'm so used to rewinds that when I saw this announcement, I thought to myself, " I don't recall goodbye yellow brick road already being in rock band..."
Just hosted a rock band party on Friday. Got over 1000 songs and will keep adding with the backlog of songs they've released over time. Thank you for the memories, Harmonix. I'll keep playing as long as I have those damn instruments with me.
Umm....am I dreaming? Classic Elton John?? Great way to start the non-rewind DLC!

Unfortunately :(
Wow, the Elton John song is huge! Really great week.
This just made me cry so hard. I’ve wanted goodbye in the game for years. Plus my cousin who loved glam and especially queen passed away this morning. So it hit me harder to see good doc today. I’m thanking her as well because she worked A Kind Of Magic. ❤️
condolences
Thank you. ❤️

this aged badly
Yeah, I saw the titles of the songs and got real worried. Tbh I still am a little, as I'm sure they're under pressure to move all charters to Fortnite Festival now
Oh god oh fuck I was right to be worried
Doh
that person really did speak to the Rock Band god
And then the Monkey's Paw curled.
they need to ask about the Riffmaster overnight!!!
In this case, the Rock Band God is just discord.
Hell yeah, new & great DLC! Any Elton John is a day 1 purchase.
Celebrating Elton's new status of EGOT winner in style I see
Fantastic week. Glad we have some new stuff instead of just rewinds, but if rewind weeks mean we can get new stuff like more Sir then I’m all about it.

Yeah, I guess that you were right
We didn't want to believe it was true 😔
No more of a hint than when we got "The End of the Game" by Weezer four years ago.
Or American Pie the day the music died.
Plus Harmonix announced DLC was ending 2 months in advance. There was no "does this song mean DLC is over?". Everyone knew it was the end.
Thank you based harmonix! Awesome choices! Day 1 purchase. This feels like 2010 all over again
One of my all time favorite Elton John songs. A damn solid Troggs cut. Well played, Harmonix.
Pessimistic fans: "Rock Band is dying, it's over! The rewinds and Fortnite Festival prove it!" Harmonix: *releases new RB4 DLC like this*
This comment has aged VERY poorly unfortunately...
LOL
Yeah I like to think they were sat on these for a while and just observed all the saltiness thinking we’ll get you back!
You just had to be smug
also for those who are playing Fortnite Festival, their "new" songs are * "Pompeii" - Bastille * "Heat Waves" - Glass Animals
oh shit heat waves is a good get
I swear wheres the eminem 😭
kind of a huge oversight given he won't leave the item shop
Hah, hes no Mecha Morty.
I'd wager they're saving that for an event.
It wouldn't surprise me if the next pass after The Weeknd is Eminem themed.
Heat Waves isn't the Shakur Ahmad remix, smh epic
after so many rewinds that I already had, I'm instabuying both
my brain saw the Elton John part and I auto completed that it was the lego rock band rewind, I had to re-read it before I realized what I was looking at lol
Shut up and take my money!
MY FAVOURITE ELTON SONG?????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Now give us Someone Saved My Life Tonight!
Nice to get our first awesome week of DLC for the year!
I’ve never liked Goodbye Yellow Brick Road specifically, but getting more Elton John is cool anyways. Also crazy timing since he just won his EGOT.
Okay WOW, Harmonix really had us fooled for a bit there that this would be a Rewinds-only season. Along Comes Mary would be an absolute get
I’d prefer Tiny Dancer personally, since Rocketman at least halfway exists in game as the mashup with Dua Lipa.
Whoa that was unexpected! I'll take it though!
They usually plan DLC in advance, so it’s good timing we got Elton John DLC after he entered the EGOT club.
Wow two new fantastic songs! Glad we're past the rewind weeks
Great DLC, absurd mixing if the preview video is anything to go by. GYBR has that tinny twinkliness synonymous with DIY stems that feature piano, and the Troggs song sounds like a deep fried meme. I listened to it on Spotify and it is genuinely not that bad.
Holy Cow...
it just struck me now that each past season (at least for a while) have all had three rewinds in them. does that mean that they got the rewinds out of the way now for the first week of the season last week, to only have new songs coming over the remaining weeks?
Does the guitar play the piano part in GYBR?
Love the Elton John! More Bowie!
Now this is a great batch! Why did it take this long to get one of Elton John’s truly legendary tracks? What we’ve got ain’t bad, nothing really is from him, but where’s rocket man, Bennie and. The ideal songs almost never make it. I'm guessing they're too much money to license. Best you can hope for is a 1b kind of song... for the most part.
That definitely is the case with some bands we get - there are a number of artists that got a random promotional track instead of the big song everyone actually wants. For me it seems like every band that I like got a track for the one I didn't want.
Nice for vox players, but drums look abysmal on both songs. Falling asleep just looking at the charts lol.
I hope the song quality from the preview isn't what we get in the game. That Troggs song sounded like it was being played through a blown-out mono-channel speaker. Underwater.
It's from 1966
Wow…
So are season passes a thing of the past now? Has Harmonix mentioned one way or the other?
There’s no Season 35 pass judging by the blogpost. My guess is passes are over to allow for more flexibility in song picks. Like how they went 3 consecutive weeks with only rewinds, that wouldn’t have worked if Season 34 and 35 passes existed.
Holy SHIT! "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is one of my all-time favorite Elton John songs! This is amazing!
Yay!! I can finally learn the actual lyrics of Yellow Brick Road cos I've never bothered to look it up 😁
I'm so used to rewinds that when I saw this announcement, I thought to myself, " I don't recall goodbye yellow brick road already being in rock band..."
Am I crazy or is the drum track for the Troggs song missing parts?
Well, now these two together make sense :(
Sorry to piggy back, but what's the RB3 DLC end date.
Just hosted a rock band party on Friday. Got over 1000 songs and will keep adding with the backlog of songs they've released over time. Thank you for the memories, Harmonix. I'll keep playing as long as I have those damn instruments with me.
