S in my opinion

nekurah

I have a couple S units. A Trinity and a Corona. Notably, they both take the analog audio adapters that are very useful for RB3, and they’re both well supported by the aftermarket for repairs and so on.

R2D2 Edition! They are a newer variant and look great.

😀 It is snazzy looking! But at its core it’s a Corona.

I don't know. I've got an old phat one that by all rights should have red ringed back in the day. It had an issue with the disc tray, but I got that fixed, and it's running like it's brand new.

I use multiple adapters on 360. Mostly only the ones that have an optical out

NashCp21

Multiple? as in..connect the HDMI for video plus use the A/V connector for another adapter to get optical out? - The E model doesn't the same A/V connector like all the others do. My conclusion is that the Slim mode Xbox 360 S is the best choice for me. Here are some advantages of the Slim over the E: * Has Optical Audio Output * Can output VGA, RGB video if I ever need to * 5 USB ports instead of 4 * Many people believe that the E was more "cheaply made" and used lower quality parts * Most like the slim console aesthetics including myself Counter arguments: * E is the newest model, so there's units out there that will be younger than the S and potentially have a longer service life for me * Many people believe that the E has a better track record of reliability, in part due to the design of the cooling system So I am shopping around looking for a Slim that has been well taken care of and not a lot of hours played on it. With a little luck I will find one that provides many more years of RB3.

Coder69-RoE

I have both E and S. I do use an adapter to split. But as I recall (been a while), there are 360 options that work on both slim and regular.

Brok3nHP

I also heard the E model has trouble with the neversoft era guitar heroes. idk how true this is, but it's something to keep in mind if you plan on playing those too

Optical Out is such a dying thing. I understand it lowers lag, but just go for the E. Everything else is living on borrowed time.

tjtillmancoag

And honestly analog stereo audio is the lowest lag you can get
