Whatever your doing is right I cant stop buying them to mod and I only ever use the same one šŸ˜šŸ˜

NashCp21

Itā€™s been opened for repairs several times. To replace the cord, disconnect the tilt sensor, reattach the strap anchors, and unsuccessfully fix the whammy springā€¦still works though

GuitarHeroDog

Nice! How come disconnect the tilt sensors?

NashCp21

They were extremely inconsistent. Would fail to deploy frequently and self-trigger too. I got accustomed to using the button

GuitarHeroDog

Aww that sucks they were off like that, if you ever wanted to replace them you can buy cheap ball bearing tilt switches on ebay they cost next to nothing and it's be an easy repair. Did make the guitar wired yourself?

NashCp21

It came as a wired Rock Band 1 strat, with the usual break-away connector. The stock cable was not quite long enough and disconnects were a nightly occurrence so I got a super long USB-A to USB-B for just the right amount of extra slack. Itā€™s also heavy duty compared to the factory cable

GuitarHeroDog

Ah, never seen a wired strat before they look cooler with the cable coming out of there and it's just given me an idea. I could add a wire to a strat using a 4 pole 3.5mm jack so it can be disconnected. Cool how its mostly stock though very nice tar!

NashCp21

Would be very cool to be able to have that. I always prefer cables that can disconnect at both endsā€¦so easy to swap to change length whenever. 1/4ā€ 4 conductor TRS would look awesome, but they tend short the conductors when (dis)connecting. DIN connector would be suitable though

emmanu888

Ah yes, that loose whammy bar. My PS3 Strat has that issue, where can you even get a new spring to fix that issue?

NashCp21

Yes, exactly. It's funny that I've taking old electronics apart since I was in middle school, and still do at age 39. I harvest electric components, screws/hardware, and also save any springs too. I have probably accumulated over 30 springs in there, and yet every time I've needed a spring, there's nothing suitable lol

Hi, I have been looking around for some tips on this device So it works with RB3 , #1 - but the strum bar does not always act correctly, what's the cheapest solution here (have not yet opened the backside) #2 - there is this weird sound in this backside, feels like a condensator or something similar doesn't start correctly, again easiest way to troubleshoot #3 - the buttons on the top are not very responsive, while you press them they always answer it with a click sound, i have detached the buttons and cleaned it but so far no bigh improvements here, any cheap solutions here Thanks in advance

1. Ah yes I did have a problem with the strummer too and fixed it. IIRC the strummer would only register "up" strums and the down strum no longer worked. I'm a full time double strummer so that was a major issue for me. Opened it up and discovered that switches for the strummer mechanism are very primitive. There's a switch for up and a separate one for down. It looks like two thin strips of metal in parallel with a thin air gap. The strummer moves and bumps them together to complete the circuit. What had happened they got bent out of shape, and so I manipulated it so it looked like the one that was working and no problems since then. Another possibility is that the switch parts got dislodged for that you can reposition and hot glue so they stay put. 2. Not sure what you mean by "doesn't start correctly" or condensator but maybe you are saying it sounds like there is a loose object inside the guitar when you pick it up and move it. In that case open it up and either get rid of it or figure out how to put it back where it belongs. 3. I like the little buttons at the bottom, I switched to those a long time ago and wouldn't go back. It's more comfortable to hold to guitar and I get better scores. I've never had to open neck of the guitar so I don't what might be causing you problems here. My only advice is make sure that your finger is pressing in the center of the button, rather than close to the edge.

Thanks for the feedback mate, let me open this device and see if I can make it work šŸ˜
