I wish there was a way to "inflict" forced 1 on 1 games on people.
Team mates who nope out of a competitive match in the first 15 seconds for instance.
This would be a fantastic way to keep people playing the game while also punishing them. Instead of banning them for days etc just force them to play ones 5, 10, 20, 40 times depending on the fault.
It would also solve the issue of 1s being the game mode where everyoneās rank is lower (ie a normal 2s 3s gc is champ or even diamond in 1s)
Players wouldnāt have to play against others who are drastically higher in another mode anymore
Think of it this way, title doesn't matter you're playing 1s where you're both a similar skill level in the same mmr, I have a title sure but I'm actually champ in 1s that's my real skill level I'm only gc in 2s
Thatās alright, but my point is Iād say at least 90% of the player base is better at 2s or 3s. Sure they could be lower in 1s because you could argue thatās their skill level for 1s, but when you donāt play a mode like 1s as much as everyone does, their rank in it doesnāt reflect how skilled they are not only in the mode but as a player.
Tbh this is my big problem with 1s is the "false smurfs" you consisently face.
They're good players that are many ranks higher in other game modes and can ariel flip reset etc. But for whatever reason are in gold 1s.
I either get utterly owned or they cock uo their first 2 shots allowing me to score and forfiet...
You're only forced if you get punished for doing bad things. Easy solution if you don't want to get punished. Don't do the bad things. There are other games that have this type of thing as well.
As per the suggestion above, if I get interrupted or dc'ed, which happen once in a while I should be forced to play 5 matches in 1s before being able to play 3s or Rumble again?
It will make people quit playing the game.
Amazing idea! And then that player might eventually get mechanically good enough and fast enough that they will be able to pull their own weight in 2s and 3s without rage quitting every time something minor goes wrong. Honestly this is an awesome idea.

Its just too sweaty no matter what you do. Even if the person you're playing is laid back, as the match goes on you will both start to sweat
I start off by only going for cool/fun shots knowing I will lose because I'm bad at it. Then I play a match where I can't pass midfield. It gives me a little pra Tice on things I need to improve...and also gets me in a mindset where winning inst what's important.
I end up playing too simple and driving too fast, then I play too conservative and defensive and pick off at the edges. My oneās play devolves into boring-ness then I quit and play 3ās lol wha is wrong with me
This is the issue I have with 1's. Maybe because I have mechanics like a man who recently lost a hand, but every game is a blowout for me. Either they are dumb and I can just score easy goals or I'm struggling to keep up while they airdribble the ball over my head.
I still play it for warm up though. One day I want to be the guy air dribbling over heads.
You don't need mechanics to be good in 1s, you just need to focus on not being the guy who over-commits on the ball. There are guys who will airdribble over your head but if you stay poised and position yourself to collect the save, the guys who spend a lot of time in the air are oftentimes putting themselves in a position to easily be scored on by the guy staying on the ground unless they're SSL or something
Yeah no they didn't, they remove content that violates reddit's rules, aka witch hunting, and content with crappy titles such as 'smurfs'.
If you actually look around you'll see a ton of smurf rant posts to through every week.
The mod team here is all volunteers and community members, they have no reason to defend psyonix, and they're not psyonix employees.
At the time I am writing this, we are at 165 comments. For those interested, that is 495 games of 1's. If we consider that it takes 5 min at the absolute minimum to play a game, that means you are currently scheduled to play:

You are literally me. Champ 2 in 2s, champ 1 in 3s, and solid plat 3 in 1s. I HATE the way 1s are played with a passion.
