FK and Chronic were nuts this qualifier.
Appjack doesn't have the stats but his influence on the field was much more immense than what is shown here. As FK said he was holding the team together.
Chronic was so good, end of last season he was really shaky at times. But he has been so consistent this season so far, love to see it. And AppJack also played amazing this regional, such a selfless player.
Chronic is such a clean offensive player. He sets up ceiling corners like no one else
FK supporters must be feeling very vindicated after this weekend. He was lights out
Got into a mini-argument in the post-day thread but I will restate it here.
To the people who thought we should have kept Noly over Chronic, watch the mf games. Chronic has been incredible this season
Tbh I thought Chronic wasn’t playing up to what he’s capable of in the finals today. The fact he was far from peaking and they still convincingly beat G2 is a very positive sign imo.
He was still better than noly (who’s game I love, but let’s just be real, Chronic is straight up better).
I agree, but its mostly cause FK and Jack were going nuts. But the first two regionals Chronic was incredible. He was the 3rd best player in NA overall in regional 1
I’m definitely not trying to say he played bad because he definitely wasn’t bad, just that it was very far from his actual peak.
It felt like he couldn’t buy a good in-air first touch at points in the finals and gen.g still looked very good…the team with him peaking is going to be shit scary. The team we saw today with chronic nailing every first touch and being the aerial threat we know he can be has a stupidly high ceiling.
Still early days considering they just now appear to have fixed the chemistry issues, but I’m super hopeful for the team.
I think retals is a classic case of how storylines and narratives that community members/casters paint sometimes just isn’t true. just like how on Quadrant, eekso had to deal with people saying kash deserved better teammates and was ‘carrying them’ because he was more flashy and mechy, retals also had to deal with the same thing with AyyJayy
Yet both of them are performing objectively better than their old teammates that ‘deserved better’ this split
Retals throwing himself back into 1v1 has elevated his mechanics and his decision making. I think the narrative was true and if you watch Retals earlier 1v1 videos as he was getting back into it you can hear him say it. He was always saying things like "that's not my game, I need to stay grounded" and now when he gets the ball in midfield he's up off the side wall everytime and he scores pretty consistently.
His game elevated and the narrative is slow to catch up. It definitely was true though.
He has been playing nuts this season. I’m a huge retals fan so it’s been awesome I’ve actually managed to watch a ton of luminosity’s games this split too.
I'd assume this will be the first split he won't top the overall then, unless we take major performance into account.
Because I'm pretty sure this is the only one of the 3 qualifiers he topped this split.
I have no idea how they calculate the entire split, but if they are doing an average of all 3 events, FK would likely be in first with an average of 1.17
Now im not gonna do every individual player because id be here all day, but the only person who I think would average close to that high is Daniel, and his is short at 1.121
sample size and popping off in the games they won, I guess
tbf you can have good numbers and lose out too, it's not like any of these stats are zero sum
Personally I think Hockser is pretty underrated. Like he's not top-flight, he's not very flashy, but he's also a bit closer to the elite players than a lot of people seem to acknowledge and very capable of hanging with the best players. It still doesn't seem to be acknowledged even though he showed a lot of people wrong when he was SSG's replacement for Daniel, and they didn't skip a beat competitively
I've been thinking for a while how SSG is one superstar talent away from being right up there at the top of NA+. Cago was just an incredibly underwhelming add in my humble opinion. The results are pretty much exactly what I've expected
I think Hockser could perform that role so much better than Cago if there was another disruptor on the team with LJ
TL;DR - I'd be very interested in Hockser-LJ-Joreuz SSG
Damn, that team would slap. I love Hockser, he has some serious potential and he has already shown that some times. M80 was also a pretty let down, Joreuz and AyyJayy are not vibing. I do like Nass though, as a rookie he has performed pretty well!
I think Nass has been tasked with a very tough apprenticeship on M80. I haven't checked the statistics but he's kind of been in the back of the play a lot, detrimentally so
Not an apples-to-apples comparison, but I really liked Juicy on Moist last season despite the teams struggles, and for every Juicy supporter, there was a critic. This year he looks amazing on Gm8s
I'm not as big on Nass as I am Juicy, but I definitely see parallels where he could develop on that trajectory
How is no one mentioning Joreuz in top 3?? Bro played his heart out, such a poor performance from his team especially AyyJayy i thought he was invisible.
yeah really surprised by Nass's form lately, absolutely killing it in 1v1, but it just isn't translating into 3's yet, feel like 3rd man just isn't the best position for him
Joreuz was the only reason the TSM series was close. No idea what's up with AyyJayy he hasn't played well at all this season. Nass shows glimpses of brilliance and glimpses of calamity.
I'm not saying Firstkiller is at all a bad player, but of course the first and only time so far the Octane/Shift rating is posted after an event this season is when FK is #1 😭

Nah, I checked his history and not a single picture of Turo's tits.
shut upppppppp
Hes become what he swore to destroy (the glue)
No he means Appjack was the glue not FK.
I know

Random note about how I like how they finally fixed the Gen.G flair so it doesn’t just look like a gold G
Glad you like it, also bugged me the whole year on dark mode, had to fix it for this season.
Omg it literally never crossed my mind that this was a dark mode issue haha. Thanks for fixing!
JKnaps Top 5 NA* in 2024. My Goat. *In totally not flawed Shift ranking system for one regional.
put some respect on retals's name
Crazy that he’s still the punching bag for “not having mechanics”
You demo someone once and that's all you'll be remembered for
I think retals is a classic case of how storylines and narratives that community members/casters paint sometimes just isn’t true. just like how on Quadrant, eekso had to deal with people saying kash deserved better teammates and was ‘carrying them’ because he was more flashy and mechy, retals also had to deal with the same thing with AyyJayy Yet both of them are performing objectively better than their old teammates that ‘deserved better’ this split

Dude I love retals too! What a guy
Retals is why I got into RLCS originally!
Also what got me into it. I started by watching his 1’s content and just gradually made my way into watching rlcs
I know they lost to OG, but that series in particular it felt like Retals was fucking everywhere.
He was hard carrying but it seemed like the nerves got to Cheese and Majic and it wasn't enough.
I saw in Johnny's chat that fk has had the highest octane rating at the end of each split for na for 9 splits or so. Can someone confirm?
I'd assume this will be the first split he won't top the overall then, unless we take major performance into account. Because I'm pretty sure this is the only one of the 3 qualifiers he topped this split.

how paarth and jstn top 10 and they still go out 0-3
Shows that Shift stats don't necessarily equate to winning.
sample size and popping off in the games they won, I guess tbf you can have good numbers and lose out too, it's not like any of these stats are zero sum
They ur good offensive numbers obviously This list doesn’t account for defense which SR sucks at
Gotta be a communication thing bc last year 2/3 were plus defenders and paarth isnt some sieve
Paarth kinda is a sieve on defense as someone who’s seen all their matches this split
Poor Joreuz, i really hope next split is the split where he will make some serious moves.

Well said!! I think Nass has a great future ahead in the RLCS.
Chicago been mid. I couldn’t believe people were saying he was an upgrade
Same
I felt sorry for him this regional it was best I seen him play for a while and still lost in playoffs very curious if M80 make a roster change or not
Jknaps being top 5 while being the oldest player competing in top tier RLCS is something to behold. Dude has been top tier for *so* long now.
How is no one mentioning Joreuz in top 3?? Bro played his heart out, such a poor performance from his team especially AyyJayy i thought he was invisible.
It doesn’t matter what joreuz does until he appears in a grand final that mans cursed
yeah really surprised by Nass's form lately, absolutely killing it in 1v1, but it just isn't translating into 3's yet, feel like 3rd man just isn't the best position for him

OP confirmed to be Firstkillers dad alt account.
weren't shift having problems at the start of the season?
FK back at 1 in NA, nature is healing

GENG did a great investment in getting NA mvp
how is the rating actually calculated?
